  1. When I use a 35mm it mostly feels too wide and 50mm feels too long.
  2. The lenses look exciting unless you want to be compact, but you can only use them for stills, and for stills you better spend that money on medium format which is so superior in every way except being compact, but these canon lenses are not compact so... Ah yes, autofocus, the reason is -6 ev autofocus.
  3. If you understood they would give you a the nobel price of medicine.
  4. I'm no lawyer but maybe they are breaking the law if you are based in Germany, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schleichwerbung I think professional posters should be marked with a distinctive, and they would have to pay you for every post.
  5. It's not like that, that footage looks like shit in all aspects. There is something between mushy and plastic, look at z7 or xt3 videos (just to name two cameras from the same generation the R is supposed to be a part of)
  6. Anyway, I checked again and unfortunately they used the same optics as in the other focal reducers so it gives very strong vignetting since it was designed to cover Fullframe. I guess Andrew can keep his canon EF stuff in the closet.
  7. Let's talk in 2 years. btw, do yourself a favor and buy the pentax67 to gfx speedbooster, get the 105mm 2.4. Once you see the results, sell all your canon crap and get the gfx 100 https://www.josephdagostinophotography.com/blog/2018/1/10/fujifilm-gfx-and-pentax-105mm-24
  8. EF is save If you feel like doing the adapter thing, yes. I'd rather sell and buy like the Butterling does. Once the z mount and r mount get out their lineup long flange lenses are going to be a joke, specially wideangles. Let's face it, wideangle retrofocus lenses are ugly, I had the long praised Nikon 14-24 2.8 and it produces unnatural ugly images that look "spectacular" and make money.
  9. Maybe without AF the camera could do 60p, but nikon has no history with firmware updates.
  10. I don't think so, I thought you would have a recorder. My interest lies in the posibility or not to get 10bit external without having to use log, and if it's possible to have active d-lighting in 10bit with and without log. Active d-lighing is something to improve dynamic range, so probably it makes no sense to use it with log, but if you can have 10bit with the other picture styles and have d-lighting this would be very interesting for the people who want to shoot 4K HDR without loosing information to log (compressing the midtones, wasting bits on deep noisy shadows and highlights to iso 800)
  11. Can't wait to see your stuff, show us the glory of the 35mm 1.8!!! Plase see if you can get 10bit without n-log, and with active d-lighting!!!

    Waiting Game...

I'm waiting for a large darkroom to make gigantic prints from 8x10" negatives.
  13. So this is going to be like in the 70s with all the brands having clone alike 35mm slr lineups.
  14. @Andrew Reid Hey Andrew, how is the 1080p on the gfx 50s? 5d mk iii? How's the lowlight, the DR, the Motion cadence? Codec? All the reviews out there are crap.
  15. Without going into the reason why, larger formats are different. FF is waxy, 6x7 is Plasticy and 8x10 is silky smooth. My fav look is 6x8, Maybe in 8years or so someone comes up with a sensor as large as that in a consumer camera.
  16. It's not like af-d lenses could be used in continuous video af, the noise is tremendous.
  17. Worst time to buy a camera, I think I'm putting most of my stuff on ebay.
  18. Super deal https://nikonrumors.com/2018/09/22/big-price-drop-on-nikon-z6-on-amazon-germnay.aspx/ @Andrew Reid
  19. 16K @ 240fps 6x7 mediumformat 16bit globalshutter filmlike highlight response sensor for 2000€
  20. If active D-lighting works in 10bit it could be pretty impressive...
  21. Break up,use the money you save by that to get a D700 (the color is way superior to the d7000 alien colors) or a D810 (the d800 autofocus is not reliable at all, specially with screw drive lenses)
  22. As a stills camera it sucks too, that camera was a beta-test for the new sony sensor, colors are all off.
  23. Years ago I bought a nikon D7000 to replace my nikon D90 for stills and video, I read tons of reviews from sites like Dpreview forums,etc... and thought I was buying a great camera (1100€), I had no idea what lineskipping was, and nobody pointed out that the camera was trunkating 2 stops of highlight DR in videomode (like the d800 or worse), so the results were incredibly bad, useless, any crappy lineskipping canon looked better. Eoshd didn't exist back then or I didn't know of it (when I first saw eoshd I thought it was run by some retarded german canon fanboy ,I didn't really pay attention). I ended up selling that piece of shit for 350€, Andrew would have saved me from that. Eventually I got interested in Anamorphic lenses so I ended up here, reading through all the posts by people who post in a light manner, not the pretentious loser pseudo-professionalism that happens in the rest of video forums. I learned a lot. Thanks Andrew!!!
