Yeah either XF705 or the Sony Z280 for a  fixed lens camera, they each have their own pros and cons. For a Supa 35 sensor camera with interchangeable lenses - Sony FS7 and the Panasonic EVA 1 are your only options under $7,500 USD.

Where can he buy the Sony fs7 under $7500 please?

  2. a friend of mine wish to buy a camcoder, I wish to suggest him a good model so I'm asking your help.

which camcoder can do at least 60p at 4k with a good 10 bit codec for color, and good low iso performances?

tell me if there are other characteristics to look for please (maybe a good stabiliser?).

he needs it to shoot documentaries.

    thx!

Perhaps you can edit your original post to reflect more specific criteria? You didn't mention color NR before. I think if that's what you're looking for, your options are fairly limited. Affinity has an iPad app, but its $20. They claim its a full blown photo editor, but I've never tried it to see.

    Chris

I tried but I can not edit the first post, maybe it's not possible after some hours from the first edit.

I did a test on my pc before buying the app: lightroom vs affinity with raw pics. in all the samples I tested (all raw pics from canon 7D) affinity show very unnatural color rendition with a really strong magenta cast. If i try to correct it adding some "green" I loose completely the skin tones, I can show a sample below.

this was just pc (the beta version), maybe they sorted out the problem on ipad or the non beta PC version (Serif Affinity Photo 1.6.5.112 Beta June 18)

  4. @Anaconda_ I did a test, it 's a very nice app and I wish to buy it but it's not possible to do it: the complete version it's only monthly or annual subscription. I wish an app to buy or free that have not the need to pay again every year. Do you have another suggestion please?

edit. the app does not support raw, it open a raw image and convert it to jpeg

    https://www.polarr.co/wiki/support/Miscellaneous.html

    they are working on it

@Phil A I edit only raw files in ipad, i took them from my dslr canon 7d, I use a connection cable to do it. I plug the dslr directly into the ipad and I transfer the raw pics into the ipad hdd.

@Trek of Joy thx I tested "Snapspeed", it's nice, very essential but I can't really use it for raw pics because it lacks the color noise reduction, and for 7D raw images it's really necessary.

  5. are 16gb of ram enough to edit video in 4k (for example file video in 4k hdr from the new sony mirrorless)?

is a mechanical HDD (black version) enough fast to work with 4K video files?

will we see soon a cheap camera sensors that solve the problem of rolling shutter?

    thx

I attach my Z Crane v1 gimbal to a shock-absorbed boom arm mounted to a vest. Two things happen here. The fourth axis is shock-absorbed, where these 3-axis gimbals totally fall apart the most, and I'm also not wearing out my arms holding up a metal pistol grip all day. Spent muscles are shaky muscles.

is it possible to develop a fourth axis thas is electronic? that have an electronic brain as the other 3 axis of the gimbals do?  because they may easly put the fourth axis in the handle of the gimbals if so..... and I do not understand why they stopped at 3 axis.... is it a techincal reason or just people do not ask for a butter smooter movements?

No, the GH5, the GH5s, the Sony a7r III, the a7 III and others shoot HLG as well. Vesku was just pointing out that there’s a way to shoot 8-bit HLG on the Panasonic.

so HLG is basically as if the camera is shooting in dual ISO? thx

  8. the problem is that gimbals only stabilise 3 axis, this is not enough cause there is another axis they should stabilise but they don't. that's what a professional steadycam do with the extra arm that came from the chest vest.

now ok there are some exceptions such as the Osmo accessory, and some enormous rig to mount to gimbals as the movi or the ronin, but the true is they should add something new, built in the gimbal itself, to solve this problem imho.

Panasonic GH5 actually can shoot 8 bit HLG 4k 30P when using a special trick. I think it is a bug which allows 8 bit HLG but only in 30P.

When I save 4k 60P in C-memory and then select record mode HEVC the camera uses h.264 8bit 4k 30P 100Mbs but allows HLG.

so the only camera that can shoot in hlg on market is the gh5 and it does it thx to a bug?
