Hi There, Dan:
Are you looking for help with your filming TECHNIQUE?
Or are you looking for help in picking topics?
If you are looking for help with TECHNIQUE, here is a simple one for sit down interview.
But if you are instead looking for suggestions on what topics to cover, that is harder. You said you want to make interviews about activism topics. Why do you want to do that? Do you feel strongly about activism? or do you just want to practice shooting interviews / get paid to make videos and you don't really care about social activism?
If you don't know much about activism / human rights then I can make some suggestions by private message to you. I don't want to turn a public thread into a political thread on this forum.
thx for help. I do know how to do it technically, and I do know the topic of the activism, but I miss the style, the narrative stucture, many of the thinks that Kye was suggesting me to observ in the works made by other people. I'm looking for something cool to emulate about everything from framing to edit, narrative, sound.... all condensed in a mini interview format.

You should look for something you're passionate about before embarking on a project like that.

hi thx for help, your comment seems similar but unfortunately I didn't understand what did you wants to suggest me. I don't uderstand how something that passionate and interest me can be a start for a project. can you give me an example please?

Which you'd expect. Would be interesting to compare it with an Xt3 and A73 maybe
the color/lights gradients are so bad compared to the highest dynamic range camera that even a child would point the finger on that, it's so evident. imho as consumers we can ask to the market to upgrade, evolve faster, to a higher dynamic range sensors on prosumer devices, it's too bad really that only very expansive cameras can solve it. I hope (cross fingers) next poket cinema camera will solve it #blackmagicdropthebombplease

new osmo (no pocket, no mobile), cheap, better stabilization than pochet, better low light, 10 bit

I would say yes on the Osmo 2.
thx, there is only Osmo 2 mobile version right (for smartphones)? not the stand-alone (with built in camera)?
-
In conclusion have the old Osmo better stabilisation and low light?

Heck, I once shot a feature on the HDV codec.
Camera and codec are considerations, but, damn, they are so far down the priority list when doing a low budget film and you're just trying to make it happen.
We've all seen great looking films shot on thin codecs and cheap cameras. How one shoots is so much more important than the tech.
Be that as it may, I'm currently working on a feature doc with 100+ hours source and proxies. It all fits comfortably on a 4TB drive.
comfortable space inside that hdd XD, is it shot in full hd?
-
unfortunately what this means is for my budget 4k is unsustainable. but I'll start now directing (first time) so could do shorts to start but I may start with a documentary and it may be a problem with space, what do you suggest to do in this case?

first it depends on what camera you have, the follow focus on gimball doesn't work with all brands
does it work with black magic pocket 4k? thanks
-
how many terabytes of space do you need to edit and color a short, a medium length movie and a feature film approximately? let's assume 2 options please: it has been shot entirely in 4k raw or the whole movie has been shot with a high quality codec.
thx

do you guys think I can do good proxy works with a western digital blu or red? I can't affor the black at the moment
-
Nice thank you, I hope they will add manual settings also on the device itself by the way. I would probably buy it if they add it
