I've used the Viltrox EF-M2 exclusively and it works great. You will loose an AF abilities the lens has, but I understand that's also the case with Metabones too.
I assume you're not buying this for AF anyway, but worth mentioning just incase.
Thanks a lot!

Just found out I'm next in line at Hot Rod Cameras! Getting pretty excited. For those who've used it, does the Viltrox .71 work well enough or is it Metabones or nothing? Sorry if this was answered in another thread. I tried looking around a little, but figured id just go ahead and ask since some have probably had more time to use it.

Oh man, that sucks, DBounce. Sorry to hear you had such an ordeal.

P4K, X-T3 or EOS R. I'm going crazy with this choice.
For me, it's P4K. I already have a great photo camera, plus lenses for it, plus three speed lights for it, plus radios and strobes. No need to completely start from scratch with another system that I may or may not like. I already shoot with Ursa Mini Pro, Micro and Pocket. An easy choice. If money were no object, maybe I'd buy both, but considering all the money you'd also have to spend on the Fuji system it isn't worth it to me if you already have a still photo system that works well.

I received a message that through tomorrow, you can buy a Hero7 Silver for 30% off worldwide using SILVER30 as a coupon code if someone isn't holding out for the Black and doesn't have a Hero6, since they are very similar.

Looks really good. Can't wait til this tech makes it to full frame prosumer cams.
Right??

Been too slammed to finish this, but finally able to put something together. All vanilla settings: 2.7k, 100iso, GoPro color, Sharpness low. Double mount to Handler grip. This was meant to test Hypersmooth in Hero7 Black. No audio as it is pulled from a much longer video I'm working on.

I think the only thing the C300mkii had on the FS7 was 444 color in HD, imo not worth the extra $8,000.
4K 60 10 bit 422, up to 600mbps intraframe, 14 stops of DR, 180fps and 120fps at 1080, pro audio, NDs, and better ergonomics out of the box - the FS7 is simply the perfect documentary video camera and since I specialize in sports videography its sorta my dream camera.
Not comparing those two cams, but I shoot sports too and I can't stand the FS7. I love the frame rates and DR, but it's a pain to use. I know I'm more a less-is-more person when it comes to cameras, but the menu system blows and the flavors of log and ways you have to use them is just way too much for me. I couldn't wait for my company to ditch that thing. I know a lot of people love it, but not me.

There seems to be a lot of speculation in here about how the original looked more cinematic than the p4k, which I believe. But has anyone shot any side by side videos to prove it? And to ascertain whether it is simply due to the higher resolution or is it something more?
Still waiting for mine or I could compare P4k to OG Pocket, Micro and UM4.6kP. Hopefully soon.

Ah, so you need the megapixels for cropping the action shots? (If needed?)
No my argument was against needing the megapixels. Perhaps you weren't intending the question to be for me. Apologies.

What type of photography are you shooting paid work for?
This particular job was sports medicine products. Lifestyle/action shots for both print and web.

I do not know any professionals shooting with such a small resolution (that applies to A7s too), or that wpuld be confident using one for paid jobs.
I disagree. I just used a Nikon d4 on a pro job and heard not one complaint from my client.

The weather finally cleared up to shoot today. I'll put something together for you guys to add to what you've already seen online.

The footage does look pretty good, and assuming the stabilisation is done before the compression it will help to get the most from the limited bitrate.
Be aware that any official footage will be the absolute best possible, so ensure that you look at real-world examples too.
It does look pretty tempting though.
When is it shipping?
It's shipping now.

I didn't know the lens is removable on the Black!
The lens cover was removable on the 5 and 6 as well.

Man that thing is getting harder and harder to not buy it. I have not seen any really bad footage out of it. Is it a Arri, well no, but it sure beats any smartphone stuff I have seen. I guess the one downside is any real ability to have a telephoto lens of sorts. It is really only go wide or go home LoL. But for travel stuff that is really a pretty good way to go.
I don't miss being able to zoom with it, but I guess it's the way I shoot. Doesn't enter my mind when shooting with a GoPro. You can zoom with the cam but there's a loss in quality.

Cool, thanks for reporting.
Ordered mine via their $100 off when you trade in an old camera. I literally bough a $10 10 year old compact camera, sent it (prepaid label) to GoPro and I am getting it for $299. This rocks.I'm surprised more people don't do this.

Alright, I can confirm that Hypersmooth is pretty awesome. My coworker and I just ran through the office with it. It takes a second to activate, but when it does, at full sprint, it's really smooth. I'm doing more real world tests over the next day and I'll upload my findings and share them.

4. For last 2-3 generations they don't seem to have changed the sensor. It's like they regurgitating stuff now.
Hero6 was a brand new censor so they weren't sharing it with other companies biting off them. This is the same sensor.
Just opened my Hero7. Will post when I have time to shoot with it.

Think it might be a no after all - spec sheet on website doesn't have 3k anamorphic mode on it.
Only the mini pro 4.6k has that mode ATM! Maybe something they might add in a future firmware update - they added loads of improvements via updates on the last Pocket, so if people shout enough this might be there too.
Everyone who shoots anamorphic start shouting! I already have.

The Ursa Mini isn't that bad. I was actually quite astonished the first time I picked one up, thinking it wasn't as bulky and heavy as everyone said it was. Then I put the VMount battery on to power it and that changed everything.
