Depends what type of person you are I guess... there's no hard and fast rule. One thing I know is that people like Ed make people like Jnr think twice next time. I've had a lot of things stolen throughout my life and I'd be fine with those people getting the Ed treatment. Decide for yourself.

I wonder how he feels to be the one who was fooled.

  2. Ed, the issue is that you lied to a guy to get him to own up to lying. Yes, what he has done is worse, but I don't believe that excuses the immorality of coercing him. It was torture in the sense that you pushed him to the point that he would make (what he maintains is) a false confession to stop it.

If he didn't do it he could just tell his friends that it was a hack. I'm pretty sure he knew the hammer was coming down when Andrew got involved and was going to see the evidence that we don't have access to.

He would always have an excuse, reasonable or (most probably) not. He already put the defence together with the line that the IPs wouldn't change because someone from within his building was the scammer. Never mind that he would have noticed the PMs enquiring about the sale whenever he logged back in and did nothing to put an end to it.

He hasn't even truly confessed yet. Why should we expect that he ever would?

Sorry to back out of my pledge to not post in this topic anymore but that is pretty messed up Ed. The problem with what you did besides being very mean and dishonest, it was an act of revenge after all, is that you coersed his confession. Just like using torture when things get bad enough the person will say anything to make it stop. This doesn't mean he didn't do it but it does cast a shadow on this confession of his.

    Indeed.

Although, it's breathtakingly obvious that ES did do it, so I wouldn't say any doubt is cast on his confession. If anything his maintaining that he's innocent even now shoes how far removed this kid is from normal human reason and emotion.

But I don't believe the ends justify the means. We shouldn't be sinking to his level.

I reached out to his friends on ig and told them he was in trouble for scamming 1k usd from people on this site.

    And linked to this thread.

    Is that extortion?

    I thought extortion involves money?

It is messed up that you forced ES to confess. That's not justice.

And beyond that, he still maintains he didn't do it, so what value does his confession have?

That's what I'm saying. This guy is a pro scammer. This obviously isn't his first rodeo so this is why we need to not let this guy go becasue he's supposedly depressed. He just wants us to get off his back so he can clear his name and scam more people.

Yeah, he wants the thread deleted so people won't look up Ebrahim Saawadi and see this. He needs his name to be clear so he can commit Western Union fraud in the future. His only other option is to legally change his name.

The most baffling part about this drama is the amount of inconsistencies. The for sale ad was posted two months ago, and there have been dozens of posts in ES Sr's voice since, usually long winded about the CaNikon image - through all of the accounts he claims are hacked. It seems odd that he or any of the other Ebrahim's that use the accounts hadn't noticed someone was posting and communicating through PM's on their behalf, while simultaneously extolling the virtues of Clog color, the Nikon flat profile and so on. Typically when someone hacks/steals an account, they change the password so the original owner of the account is locked out and can't stop the fraudulent activities. The Ebrahim's and the scammer were both using the accounts at the same time. Really? Same goes for the scammer taking control of his Facebook account to post that "you've been scammed" reply, neither he or any of his friends noticed. Really?

Looking forward to the blog post with Andrew's findings.

You don't understand, it was the perfect scam.

Playing Sherlock holmes with spelling and google again. This is a fun game to you isn't it? I don't matter?

Anyhow to make you feel comfortable my fathers gear is my gear. I use it on all my shoots. I had a 1DC stolen from me. And no one seems to think a second of how much this hurts me over losing 300$. But it's fine. I don't need pitty, all I need is to clear my name from the scammer who did this to me.

If most people are trying to help clear my name I'd very much appreciate that. But they're not. they're making a game out of it.

To answer your question (which I hope could help me prove innocence but can't see how?). The Email wasn't reached. It's the EOSHD account and my Facebook account. They boh share a password (Simply my name). I only knew of the hack as soon as I was notified with the scam, so I have no idea how long has he been on my accounts. As soon as I was notified with the scam and went to messages and saw the people I never spoke to. Then I changed the password.

That's cool, but what films did your grandfather direct?

While at the same time, you're playing a game of counting how many people were at my sister's wedding (what the hell?), spelling mistakes I've made throughout the years here (again what the hell?).

You've made? I pointed out a 'typo' by your grandfather.

  10. For a good laugh:

Apparently not only did he run a radiology centre with a work force of 300 (!) but he also directed 'feature films that defined a transitional era of Egyptian Cinema'. All this without an online presence for his practice or an IMDB profile!

I wonder if the radiologist detail existed before the thread about radioactive lenses?

  11. Notice how Ebrahim says he's just been informed of this thread, but he made the Vimeo video private over 12 hours ago.

He didn't think the whole 'the scammer can't be me because he admitted he's not Ebrahim Saadawi!' thing through either. We know the money was collected by someone named Ebrahim Saadawi.

This whole situation is a farce. Shows how far a pathological liar will keep digging.

  12. I noticed that the production designer was jack Fisk, Malicks right hand man, which explains quite a bit I think. He's a bit of an unsung hero and I definitely noticed a quite strong cross over in look to elements of 'The new world'. I'm not sure if it's okay to post a link here but there is an interesting article about his work on the revenant here http://lwlies.com/interviews/jack-fisk-the-revenant-interview/

I think it's pretty clear Iñárritu is in some ways trying hard to ape The New World. The ultra wide handheld low angles and decision to shoot in natural light scream Malick.
