And a few others who don't give a damn for techie side that is less and just love it strictly for the sake of the art that is more... I wish I could be so pure as them (E ; ) ain't we got fun? ;- )

We still have one unit in our arsenal but 4K version to still be used in a few productions such as one feature film released in 2019. You can find the thread here in the footage section of this forum.

I think you're forgetting the Hurlbut stuff... https://www.hurlbutacademy.com/lighting-the-ticket/ :- )

No, it won't. In any case, it is to blame the delivery as you say. The point is: the worse acquisition, the lower quality. It sounds to me when people were used to tend to believe there was no point to shoot film if you'd deliver in video tape. That's not like that. Your content will decidedly benefit from higher quality capture. The less, the worst... E. :- )

I am sold with 4K 120fps too : ) Hey BTW you R5 people, what about the workaround to overcome timers, is it working fine with zero hassles?
-
To be honest, I think this is already depreciate per se straight out of the box... : D
-
Seems the same for compressed XAVC-I.

They say March. £6500 is about €7300 but not US$6500 even if with VAT included. There's a big difference to not compete with the R5: ...it's not crippled.

Filmmaking is not (nor should) be a show off from (any) gear specs to us salivate over anything in the path of the show. It's just another one, a new camera won't bring you more skills to your craft (E :- ) Filmmaking is time and how skilful you're able to manage it. Other than that, amateurism in any of both senses.

My friend, I have so few time to fulfill everything I have in hands to handle atm, aside the pleasure I get to be here participating with you in this geek vice of mine, I do my best trying to put my delayed stuff on track that I still have a pack of that couple of Zenfone 7 Pro units still on hold before a compelling unbox for 10 days now, go figure time towards a proper test : D It's a pity but that's actually my real life :- )
-
I agree only on a half with you, the other half Canon should be ashamed per se crippling their clientele basis on full access to the whole potenciality of R5/R6 technology : ) I had planned to buy a single or even a couple of them and I did not yet. Me and many others I am aware of... And I am not buying their high-end either so all the power to put them on shame :- )
-
LOL Indeed, I bought a couple of ASUS Zenfone 7 Pro units for less than 600 euros each ; ) Same 8K 30fps + 4K 120fps specs... :- )
-
WOW This will put Canon on shame and on move for sure...

On the other hand, computer industry (where our post work is based BTW let's not forget ; ) is pretty healthy, let alone in a period of pandemic... source

Why Do People Still Shoot at 24FPS? It always ruins the footage for me
Emanuel replied to herein2020's topic in Cameras
Funny how perception and difference coexist amongst the human race, distinct periods of life, backgrounds, etc... In a line: Cinema is a lie told @ 24 frames-per-second; it doesn't matter what Godard thought ; ) Irreal, a replaced, pictured reality as alternative is everything we want when we suspend our own disbelief (E ;- ) -
Otherwise, I am perfectly fine from a 13" tablet computer screen coupled to a Thunderbolt 3 port right now ; ) This is a special unit for a very restricted use and nomad users of their own, you have everything else for whatever you're looking for : ) https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2021/01/12/geforce-rtx-30-series-studio-laptops/ https://www.notebookcheck.net/Quadro-RTX-5000-Laptop-vs-GeForce-RTX-3080-Laptop-GPU-vs-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-3080_9852_10474_10487.247598.0.html And let's not forget RTX 5000 is a workstation GPU...

Yeah, you had posted it, even though I've found this thread a must read for people embracing the same today. Funny, because the same concern stands no matter whether a year later (with updated tools such as 16GB VRAM gaming laptops) or not ;- )

I hadn't seen it yet, just now... delicious! Thanks for sharing, mate @Matins 2 :- )

LOL Funny, I see I am not the only one spreading my gear everywhere... Miss it like people at times, oh boy, what a nerd a geek can be : D

Thank you Andrew for the good laugh : ) I see your humor is in great shape ; )

I stand corrected only for those under 250g because I meant the DJI Mini 2 in mind. Above 250g, it is required such online training and foundation test. Here's more some useful information about the CofC theoretical test (in UK) that you can do online, the exam included: https://www.coptrz.com/shop/cpd-training-courses/a2-certificate-of-competency-a2-cofc/

Along the transition span and without CofC theoretical test and while manufacturers don't have retrospectively CE class marked their birds to benefit them at least to fly closer to people without needing a standard permission, I think there's no much advantage to any aircraft under 500g for now in any way other than as not requiring online training and foundation test. Here is the transition period well explained: https://www.easa.europa.eu/faq/116508
