  1. I am typing you right now from Portugal for family reasons but Rome is where I mostly intend and like to be as much as possible : ) UK (from London to Belfast) is my official residence and Malta will follow at same time for soon, very likely. With a few productions a bit spread all over EU and East Europe to include Moscow and Kyiv as well all ex-YU as supplier from 2005 until the beginning of the current war. Brazil for this last decade. U.S. (NJ and Florida) where I run two warehouses of gear and film business altogether. Asia is one of my preferred markets (Japan and China but not only ; ) and I've also produced a couple of feature films in NZ. I prep some feature to come soon I hope in Australia, a country that I fairly appreciate to work with : ) I've never lived there but I have assets distributed in one of the most reliable locations this market is, without mention I love Aussies! :- )
  2. Yes, I think he is in his own right to only be a seller or using his channel to promote whatever he feels like. The fact everyone thinks because someone is somehow connected with cameras needs to be an artist is pure nonsense and even some lack of knowledge how an industry works. There are children of a lot of mothers : ) Hope my English is not lost right now! LOL ; ) Without everyone, our craft is impossible to become a reality. Thanks to God we need of all in order to also bring bread to our families. This is what to be a professional means. Respect for every departments. And even the amateurs are entitled to exist too!
  3. I dunno, I think people ain't only looking for a phone but they are not aspiring filmmakers, that's for sure! They just sell their content to make happy the same billionaires who decide nowaways the future of our planet as never before. Smartphones should be named small swiss army knife instead. Mars is coming.
  4. I've just jumped thanks to your post now... on both E and L mounts also? (this guy here says that covers full frame... nonetheless, that hexagonal bokeh looks like a bit as weird as those mirror zoom) Maybe yes straight to the cart, no idea yet, maybe not and checking the reviews to begin with. Although, L mount is also promised on the side of Blazar, without mention the 50mm f/1.8 is better than the Sirui 40mm f/1.8. A mix with the Sirui 20mm f/1.8 + the Blazars 35mm f/1.8 (yet to come in 2025) + 50mm f/1.8: it is a hell of a set to couple AF to anamorphics for first time available at this level :- )
  5. How come? Well, cameras are one of the main points for marketing to each release... ;- )
  6. That Osmo Pocket 3 is one of the most interesting devices I've ever owned, practically with me for everywhere and always ready for a ride like a crazy bitch! : ) Don't quote me, just a bot! ;- )
  7. Firmware age. Designed like that or priorities of their own... I guess? : ) We always have distinct paths to arrive there, anyway ; ) Maybe a future update, who knows? Welcome to digital rage! : P In a different note, the recent turn to Nikonists here is really something! ; ) Sounds today, like yesterday. Any mechanical yearning or method is past now or at least discarded and... move on, let's accept that, I'm afraid, no matter the apparatus ; ) A few manufacturers are a bit more user-friendly or oldschool than others, though. My 1st serious photo camera (Sony was my 1st prosumer video thing, 35 years before my return back to the brand almost a quarter of century later my CineAlta F900 adventure) with more than 3 decades in my hands is still here with that pentaprism... a way earlier than the current smartphones/action cams/Osmo Pockets... street photography (yet, method of a workmate of mine in those years that we organised a photograph exhibition in one of the most fancy short film festivals of the indie circuit currently implemented and one of the best worldwide class photographers I've ever seen in my entire life, still alive and kicking nowadays, as you can check by your own in that link left here...) was then used to be shot like that with a F3 (still here in all its splendid piece of machinery): Ah that exposure compensation dial... No touch screen replaces it xD How I miss that! Unfortunately, what is not in my hands anymore is some other device 'cause had to sell it a year later when the next V6000 model came. Thought to update my V5000 and ended to get some other self-guided walk route with my brand new MX12 then, before going to film school for learning how to manage post and become an editor/director -- those were the times when we had no YT tutorials but analogue/analog (in both English variations for not misunderstandings : D ; ) tools and serious instructors for real: In a line, patience is the best tool of any craftsman :- ) PS: While for some reason I should have deleted the 1st part with a more comprehensive line/paragraph tone now... = D Rebuilt and back.
  8. https://www.etsy.com/de-en/listing/1855353098/i-bought-this-before-elon-went-crazy https://aliexpress.com/item/1005008146930345.html
  9. My fav personal capture device in March 2025 is my lightweight and really small FX30, guess also why? ; ) For the price of a Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 you buy three primes from 25mm up to 56mm, just 1 stop and a quarter slower, but for also for more than a quarter (4.5x less) of the weight! I've already posted here elsewhere (another combo from there has already made me to immediately pull the trigger on that Pancake to play anamorphic dreams... who doesn't love light glass?) but now I believe it deserves its own thread and (y)our attention... https://viltrox.com/collections/air-series-lens Here's some honest entry to my book, he even places a disclaimer in the beginning announcing he got it for free : ) which doesn't bother me at all, his time and work is not, I figure the model neither ; ) Ah and they say this time (rather than the previous f/1.4 series for the 35mm and 56mm so with the exception of the 13mm f/1.4 already on the way to my backpack/pocket... and NOT for free! ; ) their AF is effective and silent, quiet like a mouse...
  10. LOL : ) BTW how do you overcome or deal the overheating? BTW part 2, show us your work, always pleasing... Still in memory your trip to Cuba... That said, life is not only our life, family and real life out there. Or cameras. And anything related. Reason to not be gone only because you've satisfied your need... : ) Thus, I will receive this week some buddy I met here on EOSHD a few time ago (last decade, maybe?), thanks to this forum : ) I don't speak Polish, he doesn't speak Portuguese, Italian, Spansh or French as far as I am aware, so guess mates, what set of words we will be using, well, since or for many years now (so far so good : ) as our secondary language? ; ) We don't have communication theory nor aesthetics as subjects! = D
  11. Glad to know, at least you, not Brutus! LOL ; ) If that was the problem... as hinted up there : ) Language is not an exclusive of the use of idioms, neither a linguistic code is. Let's pay attention to the word "idiom" or "idioma" now used by you. Looks like the same word, meaning, etc., but doesn't have exactly the same meaning in English and some other structured system of vocabulary + grammar. Its usage and obviously, the meaning, both can vary. However, the same phrase: the absence of a moot point (it would be "a ausência de um ponto de discussão discutível" or something similar) if written in Portuguese, means the same to someone who is not sync with the subject, as it is clear (maybe not exactly crystal clear to the most part of you but fair enough to a few) to be the case here : ) No translator will help : )) And in UK vs US (or U.S. in the United States : D), the meaning changes, from one to the other country, same official language though. Just proves a lexicon can be a synonym of a myriad of different meanings what a language is or can be. Why "is"? Literal speech. Why "can be"? Figurative speech. (Making it simple now.) Moreover, language can be one's native or foreign language with a set of rules. Or a code typical phraseology used internally by some group within a professional, scientific, academic subject or domain. My bad to bring it outside. Also a bit of stubbornness from my side, trying to divert the discussion from there and to not simply throw it out. Without mention, I always tend to pay attention to feedback and to not ignore anyone. I tend to forget there are crafts and players in this same industry of a different kind and distinct backgrounds. My passion for pictures and art form overwhelms my rationality. Just sometimes... : P
  12. Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
  13. If so, he is right at least about something: overheating is not secondary. Makes no sense at this price range, to my book. No idea how much active cooling is able to be effective there, though.
  14. Any chance to test the recent Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 coupled with the respective E-mount adapter? Looks like a promising combo if AF works as people report...
  15. I think this association between Nikon and RED is yet to stand corrected how much underrated still is so far ;- )
  16. Tell us more if you have one, please :- )
  17. Yes, in fact. 8K60p for slowmo anyway, it's not 120fps but does the trick. I find AcePro 8K an insane outcome bang for the buck. Yet speechless when stills come from video like shot elsewhere...
  18. Coming on the way... that's insane: Part 2 https://altcinecam.com/product/viltrox-28mm-f4-5-52mm-filter-adapter-anamorphic/ https://altcinecam.com/product/viltrox-28mm-f4-5-52mm-filter-adapter-standard/
  19. LOL The world inside has no limits and sometimes I forget that ; ) I have to refrain myself to start talking about things somehow related but proper of somewhere else. I prepare a PhD program, maybe... Not yet sure if I have time for, so I start to prep myself to the idea. Speaking of hard reality, people love to have a diploma rather than learning a craft. So, any graduation even at film school asks for official accreditation and no professional course of work is enough to have the instructors recognised by the State, EU regulations and the community in general. A pity. My readers have to pay the price : D
  20. More than making sense... It's like the refrigerator POV shots... Hitchcock once called it the cow's perspective when Truffaut asked him why there were no establishing shots for the trains with his movies...
  21. Apples to oranges. Primes are light. Zooms convenient. Suits better a wedding photographer set up. Or any event shooter. It will be at least till they upgrade their recording modes via update. I think you have to invite him to come here and read my stuff/posts or translate them to you... LOL ;- )
  22. It surely is! : ) I hope so! That 30p on bhphotovideo specs page has been more hard to understand than my off topic dissertations...
  23. I can't wait to know your findings on 8K60p... and that overheating plague. Some people hint it's all about the cards, so I hope you will find what works best :- )
  24. Yes, that came to my mind : ) I've just been a bit disappointed with those recording modes when I love these small form factor devices but I hope they will upgrade it in a next firmware update... Best Friend is a great name for this camera! :- )
  25. My love for signs (hate to repeat vocables as for instance, not AI! LOL : ) and enthusiasm for communication in general, surpasses (maybe! ; ) the cameras, I'm afraid : ) You're right. Far to be the place. That's more than the reason for that.
