Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

If so, he is right at least about something: overheating is not secondary. Makes no sense at this price range, to my book. No idea how much active cooling is able to be effective there, though.

Any chance to test the recent Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 coupled with the respective E-mount adapter? Looks like a promising combo if AF works as people report...
-
I think this association between Nikon and RED is yet to stand corrected how much underrated still is so far ;- )
-
Tell us more if you have one, please :- )

Yes, in fact. 8K60p for slowmo anyway, it's not 120fps but does the trick. I find AcePro 8K an insane outcome bang for the buck. Yet speechless when stills come from video like shot elsewhere...

Coming on the way... that's insane: Part 2 https://altcinecam.com/product/viltrox-28mm-f4-5-52mm-filter-adapter-anamorphic/ https://altcinecam.com/product/viltrox-28mm-f4-5-52mm-filter-adapter-standard/

LOL The world inside has no limits and sometimes I forget that ; ) I have to refrain myself to start talking about things somehow related but proper of somewhere else. I prepare a PhD program, maybe... Not yet sure if I have time for, so I start to prep myself to the idea. Speaking of hard reality, people love to have a diploma rather than learning a craft. So, any graduation even at film school asks for official accreditation and no professional course of work is enough to have the instructors recognised by the State, EU regulations and the community in general. A pity. My readers have to pay the price : D

More than making sense... It's like the refrigerator POV shots... Hitchcock once called it the cow's perspective when Truffaut asked him why there were no establishing shots for the trains with his movies...

Apples to oranges. Primes are light. Zooms convenient. Suits better a wedding photographer set up. Or any event shooter. It will be at least till they upgrade their recording modes via update. I think you have to invite him to come here and read my stuff/posts or translate them to you... LOL ;- )
-
It surely is! : ) I hope so! That 30p on bhphotovideo specs page has been more hard to understand than my off topic dissertations...
-
I can't wait to know your findings on 8K60p... and that overheating plague. Some people hint it's all about the cards, so I hope you will find what works best :- )
-
Yes, that came to my mind : ) I've just been a bit disappointed with those recording modes when I love these small form factor devices but I hope they will upgrade it in a next firmware update... Best Friend is a great name for this camera! :- )

My love for signs (hate to repeat vocables as for instance, not AI! LOL : ) and enthusiasm for communication in general, surpasses (maybe! ; ) the cameras, I'm afraid : ) You're right. Far to be the place. That's more than the reason for that.

I wish it would help. Language issues or comprehending each other is much beyond the use of idioms. Unfortunately.

On the leftover, that guy mentioned the fact people must produce content without focusing on distribution. If you have something to show, the doors will become naturally open for you. And there's no reason to be afraid to end without work even in the advent of AI. Hence the portion off topic, albeit everywhere these days. Audiences dictate the business. Majorities can be dangerous (and we see it quite well in the current situation we're all live in today ; ) Who controls the distribution chain. I had just written "window" instead : D but I'm afraid I need to express myself with extreme caution in order to be perceived by the receiver : ) When we talk about communication (and content in this business is all about that), it's worthy to listen what people like Edward Hall, Paul Watzlawick, only to mention a couple of them, had the chance to bring to the world of the communication theory. Why? Because that will have impact on the result of our efforts. Our work and career cannot depend on their findings, but the range of our path will or not come along. The more we research and learn, the more we see that to effectively push the quality of our product. No need for a magic translator = D to let us guess the rest of the story when we have the market in our hands ; ) and not vice versa : ) It's the goal or sweet spot, not the audiences/clientele to dictate our art form. It's a complex balance for sure. Requires attitude, knowledge, much beyond a technical one. And technology has a minimal place in this equation. (I hope the use of these words such as "equation", etc., may rise from a trivial post but not to max out exclusive, c'mon! : ) In conclusion, tools are useful but why to be so worried with? No camera release will save our ass. That's what that YT guy said. It's much more all about the experience we have as professionals. I live from this business and not in my native country where I've only stayed for family reasons more recently in the last few years, but the course of my work stands out there in a daily basis where I've worked and lived in many countries (always using daily English practically with everyone and for everything work-related nowadays when not in my personal life in the past even 24/7 BTW ; ) in Europe... Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Denmark, all over ex-YU, Russia (Moscow), Ukraine (Kyiv), Baltic countries, Malta, UK (London/Belfast) and without mention all of them, yet U.S. where I am currently based in NJ (with a foot in NY) and Florida, and even countries in Asia like Japan or China, NZ in the antipodes of my homeland just to refer this territory in particular where with a business partner of mine, I am co-producer of two feature films, distributed worldwide, which have crossed many borders, go figure...

No, mates, sorry to disappoint you haha but I never use any of those. The key is on bold in my last post, two words sum up the whole thing... I know my written expression is not always plain and simple but c'mon, it's not so much cryptic! : D No, it's anything but not necessarily about English itself. Communication is not a democratic matter, unfortunately. I can assure you I surely express myself in English I use as my 2nd language for all my life. Others follow but if I am able to communicate/live during decades in Italian, Spanish or even French as 3rd, 4th and 5th tools, if I've spent many days, weeks, months, years -- last time, three years in a row, with my native language once a week on the phone, how the hell English would not serve? : P) Or at least since I've started to communicate with people who don't speak another language. And trust me, everyone is able to understand me very well both spoken and written English as natural preferred foreign language : ) It's nothing about that. The way I use the words or the 'substance' behind, I guess. I remember when I attended for first time the law school before film school... We had some program (introduction to law) and we were used to enter there, attend the classes for a full hour without understanding a single word of the words pronounced by the lecturer. It's all about the subject. And believe me, I don't do for purpose, go figure, because that's the pure truth : ) I just write the same I've always been used since ever, whether as student or lecturer. Of course, the same kind of language used when I was used to reach 19 out of 20 in my classes of aesthetics, for example, are prone to not match the receiver everywhere especially where we are all here used to talk about camera technology instead. The point is that the fields intersect themselves and when I see some kind of my reflection from my own, I tend to comment. Using the same level of language of ever. But if you'll listen the guy coming from that YT video up there, part of the stuff is implicit from his interesting approach about his career and this industry. So, I guess you won't lose much of the content of my posts here. Also because if you don't follow this or that, it's also because this hasn't been brought to your attention, so quite probably you won't need to follow it in any way whatsoever. In any case, I appreciate your care to interact and straightforward communication. Thanks for your feedback! :- )

Best value 4K mirrorless camera under £1000, let's rank them
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Nice to know : ) EF to E-mount is actually a PITA... Thanks for the heads-up! Only manual here for now. What adapter exactly? Sigma, I guess? Not Viltrox? -
LOL : ) OK, let's for one picture now... But I still recommend to eveyone of us to not defocus of that hinted by that guy above in that reminder there... No tools, no AI either (in a so difficult situation this business is) can overcome our own path to form the need other than our own asset: Our ability to create the market. With content. Don't let the audiences (or the channels, as aforementioned TikToks, YTs, etc.) push on our behalf, instead.* There's world outside social media. And the written form in these boards are the fine example of it. As many sensibilities and levels (layers, needs...) as colouful as human kind is. IIRC I recall to have read here in this same thread a couple of pages back and about a certain network, something like there's reality outside the current 2025 news trend (or narrative as it was written), that is, you didn't use exactly all those words in specific or that was the topic (more of it) but your readers are able to infer that from : ) I see it as really meaningful. OK, that guy didn't quote Ortega Y Gasset ; ) but I will now then and as he once said, we are our circumstances, for sure, but they should never overthrow us unless we let them play such part. This operates in lato sensu and in stricto sensu in many aspects of human life. In short, because context can be a bitch = ) we love all these tools (or a good part to each camera release... = D) but as we know, it's not there the main concern of our craft. Hope this helps as reflection of my own indeed, - EAG :- ) * In some other equation-form: sender (encoding) -> receiver (decoding) vs sender <- receiver (trading places, that is, along the process of encoding/decoding completely upside down...) ≠ sender <-> receiver (for some reason we've had Marvel... and a few partisans have respond with Anora as for instance... but do not blame me to go off topic here! xD)

It's curious when we find someone who shares the same thinking as you and not necessarily to mere camera releases/models talk, common grounds or same opinions about... Prolific perspective I vividly recommend to everyone : ) Platform comes next... don't be tied to a prior script/business plan whatever fancy the trend looks like to be, after all, it doesn't apply only to the digital camera world ; ) Work and career flow altogether, no AI (those recent strikes sound too weird to me TBH reminds me the film crowd when digital revolution came or REDvolution popped up), let's repeat, no AI will take you away from your door ;- )

Who is him as member here on EOSHD or just a lurker? I am curious... That BF/Leica thingy remark is also my point (a 'little bit" more price-conscious...) but not exactly as glass-half-full... ; ) On L mount, Andrew has an unbeatable argument for now at least. No idea what comes next in the future but without that (just launched a few days ago and don't tell me it's S35 and praise at same time the presence of the format on FF devices later on, please ; ) won't be easy... The reference to video on GH series to make the format to last and lasts so far, a hint about my recent criticism when motion picture recording modes are neglected... The trouble with GH7 is... price (I think people should read more @eatstoomuchjam on FF ; ) I concur about that AF observation, that's actually the missing link Panasonic was looking for IMHO too. Thumbs up to his complaints on the customary limitations (of the usual yadda yadda on overheating boring like hell to each release) and to the coda of this YT entry, no less : ) BTW tographer is a funny name for hybrid user or just shooter...
-
Ah I was referring another input, thanks anyway for your care : ) Much appreciated your care and link : )

LOL (Part 2) (ah I hadn't read the rest of the page yet other than that quote, only now ; ) In a single line still for my BMPCC OG remark and tell your wife about? Niche product, expensive and Leica. What single one to pick? ;- ) Some other day just for fun, I gave ChatGPT a 2nd chance to let it guess who I am from the presence of my work out there and see how they have improved the tool. Impressive report. This time, other than addressing me to some social media presence of someone else : D the remaining part and most important TBH was not bad at all : ) To my surprise and hat. Impressed how things are going and coming fast very lately.
-
LOL : ) Surely not, but niche product and small size form factor at least in that pocket OG model in particular... ; ) The point was that I hope Sigma is not willing to follow Leica's route. There's no need for that just to launch such niche product, anyway. Or for that market segment as target. What actually bothers me on this approach is the fact the conceptual idea of such minimalist release is that minimalism may end as synonym of minimizing everything. Or as much as possible. It's not because we have that in our hands, we have no focus on recording modes, should we? Let alone motion picture. It's like those hard still photographers (not our case here) often trying to diminish video mode on hybrid cameras. My vote and yours, I know, is always for filling the cup up to the top, not to cap it. OK, there are limits, being overheating one of them because of obvious limitations of space inside, of course. But 30p?! No 24p/25p!? Or also the restriction of a single HFR such as 120fps (on 1080p, go figure...) is. Minimizing the offer of recording modes? C'mon... Why? Because we have a minimalist camera, we have to focus on design rather than functionality, is the premise or their proposal motto? Design is service. I don't know where these product designers are coming from, Japan very likely : D but if I had been their instructor from schools where I have served as lecturer too, they would have heard that. IMHO it's a failure that departure point (NOT the release of such lovely camera or the concept itself!) and I hope they may invert it in the future with a firmware update. Blackmagic has something I praise. They try to give to the customer everything they can on budget. At least, this is the main reason why they've got me as their customer with a few releases and why I salute their attitude and presence in this industry. - EAG :- )
