No, I have dual solid academic and professional backgrounds in film and law. For two and three decades now. I just don't buy your argument on distinct nationalities. Mere BS, call it poor narrative but never non-fiction as you wish. Borders don't break my heart at all. That wall the orange man wants to build is a shame and a civilization setback. Ends in those sad killings who make the news of "your country" nowadays...
-
What country identity...?! I have more from your TV series produced in US than of my native own. I had idea who Bonanza was much before than knowing how to pronounce the name of my country. Only to give you a fine example. Or the English juvenile literature by Enid Blyton or Agatha Christie without mention The Beatles in my childhood from British culture as next example. Take a look on the idiom you use. Where's the country identity? BTW what distinguishes you from some other fellow from another US state? This is pure BS sold by morons to put their paw on your neck : ) I've decided to sue my country FYI -- the state, today. And spread the news to use the tools my condition as European citizen grants to me. Seriously. The lawyer inside me has decided this today (and a doc to be produced by the filmmaker), precisely because, as matter of fact, your country is your family. The rest is a bunch of parasites trying to rule you as their slave. Your rights are the only identity you have.

Now there's a new kid on the block:

Blackmagic to announce new camera related news at 12 noon PDT (8pm London)
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
They will be rare one of these days. I follow you... you sell one or a couple of them, not the triple sale though LOL ; -) -
I had a teacher in film school who was used to say exactly the same as Mattias ; -)

I somehow miss the truth coming from your posting when you're not around, buddy : ) but don't put your high expectations so high on the other contenders especially those already established even before World War II ; -) I wouldn't buy the P4K with this one today, but once bought and a very capable CinemaDNG camera, who has balls to be able to stand happy to sell it? -
Greece is the birth of civilization. I guess we all agree, our good Odin included ; ) it is as truly part of our daily life as sliced bread.
-
Yes, I obviously understand your disclaimer. This doesn't apply to everyone in any single circumstances : ) I've just placed a pre-order with them. It will end less than EUR 2,200 without VAT. Unfortunately, EU bureaucrats are prepping to put us buying from US and send bucks to the other side of Atlantic. One of the reasons BREXIT popped up. I still hope we'll prevail : ) Europe is a concept, not a farm of a few parasites living from people. We are all the people, long life to EU : -)
-
If you want a hybrid outcome, 6K is priceless : -)
-
Our Greek friend tends to exaggerate over there : ) Sorry, mate ; ) But you'll be able to buy in EU around the EUR 2,000-2,200 mark or for instance in my particular case other than that, I'd order from US then. I never had to do it so far, though. GBP is so cheap these days (open the eyelash, Brit people! : ) *Trump is just envying the other side of his blanket* hence this European higher price mantra only fits if you want to buy it from your corner supply. Trump, Putin and Co are trying to put Europeans to rest betting their odds on the usual suspects. Our common market is much more flexible than crappy puppets in any case, count on it : P @Kisaha order it without VAT outside your expensive suppliers and be happy with, you can say it is double price, but do not freak out misleading yourself and others with that EUR3000 figure excuse, merely Blackmagic pricing policy and still completely strange to the European market circumstances anyways, even because I suppose (well, let's say it with all capital letters: KNOW) it will only risk to end pretty inaccurate, wait and see, do your homework research first, please ; -)

Who shoots with that Blackmagic camera interface will struggle to want to shoot with anything else... ; -) -

I'm speechless : ) My future camera purchase... : -) -
I can't like what your post's content nails, Ed, but I can't disagree either ; ) Absolutely. Hope there always be such devices for enthusiasts like all of us here, though. It is not even good for this segment if we'll be back to the hands of industry execs ; -) I love what mobile technology is doing anyway... BTW later today, Realme will launch their 64 MP quad camera model : ) Redmi some time this August, rumors hint : -)
-
Computational photography, brother... ; -)

Yeah, yeah, what about the chipset? If it will be MediaTek as much as seems the Realme model to launch tomorrow will be, goodbye camera2API... That's not insignificant at all.
-
I won't sleep for a week... LOL : -)

If this is the new chipset other than the Snapdragon 730G also rumoured: https://www.gsmarena.com/redmi_executive_confirms_a_phone_with_helio_g90t-news-38423.php Goodbye cam2API... : -(

It can be for both ways, but once there is already one on sharing BTS of (y)our own... I suggest this one can be used to the craft itself then : ) In any case, Theatre or Stage Photography (motion or stills) is a very different realm from BTS stuff or even Backstage, even though, both of these latter two may actually end as much closer to each other : -) That was the photo:

Here's a first take posted by me in another thread, shot a week ago from Fuji Rock Festival (The Waterboys): One of these days I crossed myself with this very informative book (very recent, published only a year or two years ago) I firmly recommend to everyone interested on topic: https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/9781315271187 : -)

Of course, Andrew, you're only focus in some good approach. I really think that Mike's song/poem reaches your concern. Not exactly my last post now also 'cause I was editing and had to answer a phone call in the meantime... LOL I will finally end to edit it and leave the leftover to another thread anyway. Do you remember that thread on Deleuze's thinking applied to the contemporary man? It's all about that, the rhizome times we all live in. This asks the best from us on skills to select and refine in order to make ours the good seeds for next ones to come. Not everything goes bad, after all. Kudos for this one, that's good food for thought : ) Content edited up there now, sorry for the delay and incomplete draft on what actually was my prior intention : -)
