We live funny times today! The guy posts a crappy sample of such capture device beast and there's curiosity about some of his past work... LMAO : ) LOL My vote to post of the year! ; ) And to Gerald, the Razzie of the best excuse of 2019 too and we are in June yet! PS -- Just seen this thread has just reached 1 million of views these days! Congrats, you're in the Guiness Book @Andrew Reid I believe Grant Petty will have no excuses next time to not send you a Mark II sample for the upcoming launch... Speaking of devil, I'll forward him this remark via email right now : -D

Sorry my dyslexia : ) I meant, a fast portable router with a USB port to handle data capability for data transfer (if my English ended too broken : -)
-
I guess the best solution is a fast portable router with USB port for data transfer capability indeed : -)

Beginning of DSLR revolution?? Are you serious? I don't think in 90s we had that yet. My 5D2 arrived about a decade, a decade and a half later... Crappy enough to stand even as that, you mean? ; )

https://www.ravpower.com/p/ravpower-filehub-ac750-wireless-travel-router.html My beef: Supporting to reading USB hard drives up to 3TB... Even though SD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 256GB capability inside and one key backup speed up to 14~18 Mb/s to transfer to a portable hard drive is pretty sweet. There's also that one above-mentioned: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/3g-usb-adapter/tl-wr902ac/ But, here's some other beef against, a couple of them actually (from manual): If you use USB hubs, make sure no more than 2 devices are connected to the router. If you use a USB hard drive, make sure its file system is FAT32 or NTFS. I was evaluating in-between one of these: https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/products/dir-510l-wi-fi-ac750-portable-router-and-charger https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/products/dir-518l-wireless-ac-mobile-cloud-companion When popped up this one in my research ready to 4K streaming, advertised as so: https://www.dlink.com/en/products/covr-p2502-covr-hybrid-whole-home-powerline-wi-fi-system https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/products/covr-p2502-hybrid-whole-home-powerline-wifi-system#Technical-Specifications This second option is also pretty interesting -- with VPN I think I will take the latter and this one to complement it too: https://macsources.com/slate-gl-ar750s-travel-router-review/ https://medium.com/@mccob/mini-review-of-gl-inet-slate-gl-ar750s-ext-8284e2bfac62

There are no angels in the Catholic altars, only saints and you'll hardly find them in the real life. I don't see anything wrong to make money with a business. Max has his own family to keep going as he wrote. Who can be against that? ; ) On the contrary, seems fairly productive to make viable some core interest of our own. The point is to strictly limit (or not) our conduct and every steps submitted to an agenda. I hope not Max's case. Too lit to be legit. That's a sacred secret and not exactly free balance to make it happen all long way. I make it for living with passion. That's to my book. So far so good (E : -) PS: The most funny is to be me to remind those old battles with Jon because of Max's Sony bias he was used to disagree when happened... Me sorta defending Max now, if sounds that and it is somehow, in a certain angle of view, is hilarious to say the least : -P

I understand Andrew. I sincerely see EOSHD to be unfairly underrated more often than due... It is nice from Max to pop up anyway. Hope you stay in a serious way, though. Not only for an episodic agenda of your very own. I was used to post links to EOSHD in the comments section of Max's YT channel videos. How many others outside come here other than lurking and do the same?

Hey ho Silver! : -)

In this test I put side by side the original BMPCC and the new BMPCC4K. I used a Canon FD 24mm f/2.8 with a Canon FD Speedbooster and a variable Tiffen ND on both cameras. I shot CDNG 1080, 24p on the BMPCC (sharpness set to 0) and Blackmagic RAW 8:1 4K, 24p on the BMPCC4K. I edited and exported in a 4K timeline, so the original Pocket footage was upscaled. For the grading I used the Buttery Natural Rec709 LUT on both camera with some basic adjustments like contrast, tint and WB. Not a lot of people know, but if you shoot RAW on the original BMPCC, you have the option to switch from color science v1 to v4 in the RAW settings in DaVinci Resolve and that's exactly what I did before applying the LUT. Overall the two cameras are extremely close (there are differences in contrast, saturation and tint, but it's normal since they are two different sensors). In this video I matched them pretty well, but I could definitely see why some people (included me) believe that the original Pocket has something that is definitely missing in the BMPCC4K. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but the BMPCC has a more organic look and texture that reminds me a lot about the Alexa. Also, in the BMPCC4K, the skin tones tend to lean toward brown in some situations (the Natural Rec709 fixes in part this problem) and sometimes it's pretty annoying, where the original Pocket renders skin tones way better and in a more natural way. Still, the two cameras are incredibly close and they could definitely be used together in a variety of situations and of course the BMPCC4K is a way more usable, reliable and professional camera than the original one. Again, I really missed that filmic look and I think I'm gonna buy a BMPCC in the near future to use as a second camera and to shoot some more personal and cinematic projects. Finally, as you can see, it's very hard to tell the difference between a 4K camera and a good 1080 upscaled. Which is why I don't think resolution matters when it comes to image quality and that's why people have been shooting feature films on a 2K Arri Alexa. ~ Matteo Bertoli

Not all of us... when only a few of us do fair criticism! LOL : ) Imagine if Andrew would adopt this new trend... This world would be much poorer with the lack of the standard we become to be used to. Speaking of devil... lead me to find such unbiased reviewing outside where there's no friendly place for fanboys, please? Take it for free: don't bash your luck, guys ; -)
-
LOL Let alone when not in the way to meet the best of (their own) expectations... ; )
-
Can I push half way or even the two thirds like button on this one? Well said BTW : -)
-
Survey fulfilled. So, seems a new JVC C4K camera with slow motion capability (4K 60fps? 120fps?) with EF mount under USD 4,000 is coming...
-
People tend to see anyone outside as a jerk rather than to take a look on their own belly button... Oh sigh! Here we go with some other fanboy attitude...? This time, fan's club related, not addressed to cameras? God is in heaven! Don't frighten the man from your side! LOL Pretty inaccurate and hostile on your (mis)judgement over this forum. BTW what are you exactly doing among us? You're doing now a misuse and disservice to this community you don't feel connected with. I suggest if anyone has any stone against Andrew or someone else, PM box is your friend. Please spare us of your shitty personal agendas. Thank you! : -)

Jon would love to meet you here : ) @Andrew Reid Nice to see you keep going your posting without the usual political correctness to manipulate and distort some crucial perspectives to better retain clean and straightforward. You have no fear to say what you think. As much as Jon's. I admit I have a weakness for such attitude... : D In any case, Jon was very committed to publicly disapprove any criticism to his liking. Reason why your social friendship came to an end, unfortunately, I'm afraid that was inevitable, if not then, it would have happened sooner or later. No matter how a diversity of scopes can diverge, knowledge and different angles to share are power (E : -)
-
Apparently, just lurking to say he is here in Andrew's home amongst us...? Jon Pais who liked him is not here anymore... So MY never popped up. I wonder if Andrew would love him, he would join the forum LOL : -)
-
But, he's right! ; -)

So, you're actually answering going along your statement. Hey, you even have a vote B! : D It is all hinted with the first post of this thread BTW (for some good and inevitable reason I didn't add my vote ; )
-
Seems you're placing your vote then or not? : D This poll is not 1080p vs 4K. First off, it is restricted to delivery to begin with. It is not 'can be better' but 'is it better?' ; ) It is not 'high quality 1080p' vs 'low quality 4K' (so, no bitrate, bit-depth, color sampling, codec variables to depend from) but... ...is it 1080p better than 4K or vice versa to deliver? It is not about upscaling (I wrote 'capture resolution' but I could have written 'source resolution' instead, take it revised & updated now) but can be about downscaling... It is not about different deliveries either. So, trending YT upscale advantage rules out. Neither post production is delivery. In short, 1080p can beat 4K when you feel the need to blur 4K. You'll hardly feel the need to blur 1080p ; -)

Where are you located? Language depends on many variables such as age, cultural group, geographic region and so on. Only to mention a few. English is 'the' international idiom by excellence, so it defies you to understand your English is everything you want but beyond your own or the usage you're used to in your circle. That's the cost to use an international code of communication. Not exactly the same to call it universal. I often think how hard should be to Andrew as British native to figure out what many of us are willing to mean over his pages. Me or you included : D About the poll, it is delivery related as title infers, not acquisition : -)
-
If you read better, it is there... ; ) Very subtle towards one of the options, but the premise is there : ) Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense, isn't it? Who wants less if you can have more? ; -) The point in discussion here is when more can end less or as you wish and more accurately I'd say, different.
-
...if we can call 1080p blurred or add blur to 4K... E : -)
-
For a simple reason. Because it's not their core business... They add themselves to the trouble of such leader as matter of fact, which in practice means to be part of the problem... : -)
