  1. Except these aren't the official Canon EOS R video specs are they? We will apparently have to wait until September 5th for the official launch.
  2. Can already have three points EF, EF-S & M
  3. This is not unique to cameras but applies to any other product & is only true in a very limited way. R&D costs will be amortised over the lifetime of a product. Sales on older products bring in profits while newer product sales build up. It will all be accounted for in the business plan for the product whether it's a camera or a motor car or a TV.
  4. It would cause Nikon a big problem but is it likely? They designed the new EF-M mount for their APS-C mirrorless while the established EF & EF-S can be used with an adaptor.
  5. Blackmagic Design is an Australian company. The forum's moniker was intended to honour the 5D2 antedated the 5D3 by some years. In fact by the time the 5D3 came along the forum was already becoming obsessed with M43 cameras especially the hacked GH2.
  6. That would be the ill fated Nikon 1 line of cameras & lenses. However lenses on the Sony 1" bridge cameras are quite exceptional. The only lack is extreme wide angle greater than 24mm FF equivalent. Amazing HFR. Apart from RX0 they all have 100Mbps 4K video. They have the same UI as the Sony FF models RX0 F/4.0 24mm Waterproof Shockproof action camera RX100 VA F/1.8-2.8 24-70mm Pocket camera RX100 VI F/2.8-4.5 24-200mm Pocket camera RX10 II F/2.8 24-70mm Small "DSLR" form factor RX10 III & IV F/2.4-4.0 24-600mm Larger "DSLR" form factor
  7. M43 is being squeezed by Sony from both sides from FF & APS-C above & by 1" sensor in the RX10 & RX100 series bridge cameras below.
  8. You are obviously personally & professionally invested in Canon DSLR for video but for your needs you might be better off with another "proper" camcorder like a Canon XC10.

    Elon Musk

Battery powered vehicles are a technological dead end. They are incredibly wasteful in terms of resources. The refuelling problem is insurmountable. There is no way that any more than a fraction of the millions & millions of petrol & diesel powered vehicles world wide will ever be replaced with battery powered electric vehicles. The future fuel for vehicles is probably hydrogen using either an internal combustion engine or fuel cell.
  10. I considered getting a Feiyu Tech G6 PLUS Gimbal for my Sony RX100VI but for Start/Stop recording they use some convoluted idiotic unreliable WiFi/Bluetooth setup which is almost as idiotic as DJI who use an IR blaster. In contrast the Crane-M uses a wire to connect to the camera. There are no end of cheap wired & wireless controllers available for Sony so why both Feiyu & DJI made stupid design decisions is beyond me.
  11. By definition you need decent unlimited Internet to make use of Cloud storage but in civilised countries nowadays it's only the unlucky ones who don't have reasonable network speeds. I am in the UK with the fastest generally available FTTC with 76Mbps/20Mbps. I limit the bandwidth on my uploads so as not to interfere with other Internet use but am still able to upload around 150GB/day or 1TB per week.
  12. I doubt Google will go out of business anytime soon & G Suite for Business offers unlimited storage on Google Drive for $10/€8/£6.60 per month (the alleged 1TB limit for less than five users is not part of the T&Cs & has never been enforced). It's not only cheaper than buying your own storage but you don't need to worry about power cost, backup, hardware failures & other tedious management stuff.
  13. You are stuck in today's video vs. photo paradigm. The technology already exists for dual ISO so why not dual shutter speed? or a still image taken at 1/250 or 1/500 or whatever taken in between each video frame or every 10th video frame & stored separately? There are so many different ways this could be accomplished. The 8 Megapixel stills that you can grab off a 4K timeline are sensational & can be used for any commercial purpose from wedding albums to magazine covers to billboards.
  14. You can find a used 5D2 for about what you will get for the D600. Points in favour of the 5D2 are that you already know the camera, it has the beautiful Canon colour science & you can shoot amazing RAW with Magic Lantern. Downside of the 5D2 is softness of 1080p video & moire but you can't do better in the price range.
  15. This could be achieved by incorporating a Speedbooster into the MFT camera body.
  16. As I said it depends on your requirements & none of the shots in that video were over a couple of seconds.
  17. It depends what your requirements are. The king for cheap HFR is the Sony RX100 V. You can record 1920x1080 120fps all day or 4-7 second bursts at 240fps.
  18. A nice demonstration that content is king & the technical limitations of the cameras are less important. Interesting blog post too. When I saw the drone shots I was amazed at how high & far you had the drone fly then I saw that you lost it but <spoiler alert> was happy that you found it again. TBH with a slightly better gimbal to use with the G7 X there would be no need for the iPhone as it was the only 4K source.
  19. You must be the one other person besides me who bought an AF100. It was the first affordable large sensor camcorder. I bought it at launch & had such high hopes of it replacing my GH3 & Canon 5D2s but unfortunately I hated it. I was so grateful when the C300 launched & I was able to replace the AF100. This really was a great large sensor camcorder with lovely image & colours & great ergonomics. The C300 was (& still is) an amazing camera. My circumstances changed & I no longer own the C300 but if I were still in the market for a camcorder it would be a C200 for 4K or a C100 for HD. The difference in ergonomics between the GH5 & Cx00 are night & day.

    DJI Ronin S

That's an interesting idea although it would be limiting.
  21. Sorry that you had such overcast weather & not the vivid blue skies that are more normal for the region. Nice night shots but to stop this forum turning into a Travel forum it would be more useful if you gave us the technical background e.g. camera, lens, exposure etc etc BTW Strictly Montenegro is on the Adriatic Sea not the Mediterranean Sea.
  22. Most people choose a camera first. To say the least it's unusual to choose a lens & then choose the camera based on that one lens.
  23. A laptop is never going to be the ideal choice for video editing. You pay a premium for portability but lose out on screen size, CPU & graphics power. It's much better value to buy a desktop with a decent large monitor plus you get a more powerful upgradeable system.
  24. The wedding couple would have been happy with any video of their wedding even if technically it was total shit. It wasn’t total shit as it was mostly well exposed & in focus. However it would have been even better without the crazy excessive random movement. Someone else pointed out the storytelling through movement in the fashion video. In your case it mostly looks like movement just for the sake of movement. This was often unsettling & uncomfortable which would be a great to utilise for some narrative drama but is wrong for a wedding
  25. You are wrong. There are three basic controls for exposure on a camera - shutter speed, aperture & sensitivity of film or sensor which are all independent of the type of camera or sensor size. If the exposure meter says the correct exposure is 1/100 at F/4 at ISO 100 then these are the settings for any camera. It doesn't matter what the sensor size or focal length is. Maybe you should stop swinging your camera around for a bit & read up on the technical side?
