I would glad to take 10bit 4:2:2 over raw most of the time, especially if the schedule is tight. And post audio sync is just too hassle with Canon RAW

Well I like it for shooting events and venue, since the stage is usually well lite so F2.8 is fast enough to keep ISO not too high.

For doing short films though a prime is always better, that why I have the Voigtlander.

You can probably wait for the Leica 42.5mm F1.2 OIS which I will be getting when it is released, a fast portrait lens with IS is godsend for handheld!

I'd say even the GH1 have better video than any Olympus, as soon you got panning or motion or complex foliage the Olympus video fall apart quite easily in the form macroblocking.

But then no other camera have stabilized F0.95 footage without warp in post except Olympus and their 5 Axis IS.

Get BMPCC since it is the best for grading. Just need to get a couple Sandisk Extreme Pro 95Mb's 64GB SD card and you are set.

so I guess the era where every mum and dogs have their own DSLR is over?  Most people who bought DSLR rarely brought it out after a few times/months, since it is just too bulky and can't instagram the photos.

So A7 is basically the same crap as the RX1/VG900 from what I've seen, that is rather disappointing.   I wonder would they overheat like NEX when recording long video? And how long the battery last during video recording?

RX10 is certainly an interesting options, but F2.8 is rather limited on some low light/indoor scene, for outdoor and daylights it should be really useful, but that depend on zooming speed though.

Btw I also got 5D to compliment my M43 setup, for filming I found I tend not to using too fast aperture on the 5D, it make focusing (and follow focus) rather difficult, and limit actor's movement since they will go out of focus so easily.

Since they are in the different price category, I don't mind if they want to reserve build in ND for professional division.

Tolkina 11-16mm F2.8 and Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 is also another good option beside 16mm F2.0 and 35mm F1.4

Well slap this on to Olympus body then you get the stabilized F1.2 fast zoom..

The alpha always have IBIS, just not sure if they will use 5 Axis for their upcoming one or still sticking with existing tech. With FF being much more bigger than M43 the IS will have to be more hefty too, though I guess lots of people will buy it rather than spend another few thousands on getting those 3 axis gimbal which cost more than the camera.

Though I have to wait until to see if they can get the overheating out of the way with the A7, which is always a problem on the small NEXish body. With the GH3 I can keep recording all day on 1 battery and footage not getting more grainy unlike some other machines (cough Oly)

GH3's battery size is 57mm x 21mm x39mm, it share the same shape/capacity/volt as Pentax DLI-90 with the exception of one extra connector and slight different lock tab on the battery

GH3 offers twice the recording time over G6, so 1 battery in GH3 last like 2 batteries in G6

I can also shoot a day's long video using just 1 battery on GH3, the only time I have to change battery is if I didn't charge it right up on the day before.  Kinda regret getting 3 batteries as 2 batteries is really plenty enough for a GH3.

The only thing need to be unleashed on GH3 is the hack, All-I is seriously compromised with only 72Mbps.

Pretty interesting about the new colour creator feature, it can be applied to video too! Does that mean goodbye to 4X4 coloured filters? :P   Its like colour grading in camera.

With the recent announcement of Note 3 which can take 4K at 30fps, 1080P at 60fps and 720p at 120fps and Acer S2 with 4K at 24fps, I think it will be the mobile phone that drive 4K to mainstream.

Compare to Canon which can only do 1080P @ 30fps which is really pathetic IMHO

If you have the money to buy brand name stuff, that is good for you

But if you aren't well financed then there is cheaper option, and you can use that extra money to buy other gear instead or just save up for home loans and stuff.
