  2. You're awesome Caleb thank you so much for that! I'll dig a little deeper with it and see if the optical groups are rotating on their own and if not, time to mod this puppy!

  4. Ryzen is still faster from max's new video Wonder will M1X with higher TDP will unleash more power?

  6. Great video, glad you opened it up. People are so precious with these things, but their construction is very simple unlike most other lenses. my bet is on one of your optical groups having worked itself loose and rotated. There’s a front block and a rear block, that’s it. For what it’s worth, many folks don’t use screws anyway, as they’re not always in exactly the right place. You could just glue that tab once you find the right position, or if you’re handy, you could still and tap a couple new holes... just clear out the chips before reassembly. But fist thing first, make sure the two o
  7. Sorry, I'm not subjecting myself to QAnon, white nationalist or unfounded election conspiracies. People are dying and getting hurt because of that garbage. My ancestors were put into concentration camps by those types. A simple scroll through his videos makes the idea that he's "liberal" really laughable. Regardless: Any platform that highlights Newsmax and the other content I see highlighted is not worth supporting.
  8. This jibes with my uneducated opinion of the psychology of nationalistic folks. I personally believe they actively seek out ideological reassurance more so than others. Derived from insecurity? These are my anecdotal observations, anyway. I think it's why they'll flock to rallies and enjoy them while other citizens are incredulous, if not appalled, by that behavior. Ironic to me that those that claim to be the most stridently individualistic often seem not to be at all.
  9. I think I found the problem but I have no idea if it can be fix and if it can, how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Hi, are there any noticeble differences in image quality by using different framerates? (NX1/NX500) Thank you.
  11. Some good ideas there. This person has gotten quite organic footage by piling on the filters!
  12. Have loved the Panasonic G6, such a big upgrade from the original Panasonic GH1 which I started this filmmaking journey with (although technically it was my girlfriend's Nikon D90 or my sister's Canon T2i that I borrowed for the first handful of shoots), but in recent years I've been considering an upgrade. First to the Panasonic G7, simply to get 4K, but as the price of the Panasonic G85 kept on coming down on eBay that tempted me instead for the better low light, the live HDMI out, and of course the IBIS! But this is a slippery slope, because as I wait... then the Panasonic G9 got that big 1
  13. I think it is extremely dangerous to live in an echo chamber of only knowing people who already agree with you and reinforce your existing biases. a) you're referring here to lbry.tv, not LBRY. You should go to Odysee not lbry.tv by default b) you're referring here to a video produced by a journalist Tim, who is a self described liberal and has backed the likes of people such as Bernie Sanders. I'd say it is a ridiculous stretch of a claim to say he's an extreme right winger. Now, Tim is not saying these videos are proof that the election results are wrong and Biden lost, in f
  14. Picked up my C70, Canon 24-105 F4 RF, and EF adapter. Did some quick tests with a 35mm F2 IS and one practical lamp in the living room. Color looks like normal Canon color to me. I'll hopefully have time to shoot more stuff tomorrow afternoon. Initial thoughts... Camera feels pretty nice in the hands. The custom presets are really crippled. They took away BT.709 / C-LOG 2. Also, for some reason clog 2 clips at 85 IRE. There are a ton of options for removing all of the noise reduction and you can go all the way to -10 sharpening. I think lowering the in camera sharpness and pairing t
  15. It doesn't, camera nerds on fora have a hard on for it, that's all. In the extremely unlikely event that you would ever need to show your movie on a projector that doesn't support 23.98 fps you'll have to speed up your footage by some imperceptible amount. (I'm speaking from experience here).
  16. Last week
  17. Would anyone care to explain how shooting in 24 fps vs. 23.98 has a tangible effect on image quality?
  18. I will do a recording of the same scene using both formats--3840 x 2160 and 4096 x 2160--and verify whether that concern is legit or not.
  19. If I was starting from scratch, I would go for a Sankor because they are cheap, all over the place and look really good. That with a ProtoDNA would be a nice combo I think. Bolex 8/19 would be nice to. If you are shooting s35 or Full Frame then unfortunately things get rare and expensive. The Vazen lens might be the best bet after DIY scopes. Or a SIRUI. Good luck!

  21. That's exactly what I was afraid someone would say. I'll dig around and see what I can come up with. I truly appreciate the response!
  22. I'm gonna give it to you straight. If this can't even focus to infinity then you are looking at a big gold CinemaScope paper weight. Even if you could the amount you would pay for the variable diopter would be worth much more then this lens. Also you will have not many choices as far as taking lens and forget going wide. I think a Sankor would be a better way to go and much easier on your back to bring around. If it can't go to infinity forget it. Cheers.
  23. I definitely have the weight supported, this thing is a monster but it's what I have to work with haha. It's not even focusing at infinity which has me really confused. Could it be that I need a single focus solution or a diopter? I thought those things were just optional to make your life easier but it's not focusing at any distance or focal length, not even close
  24. Also, I thought I read that DCI 4K just crops in from the top and bottom??? (As opposed to expanding the horizontal field of view.) Can anyone confirm?
  25. The second video I see upon going to LBRY is a video intending to undermine the credibility of our election. You don't live in the US so maybe it's just that you haven't seen the damage that has been done by QAnon and other bad faith actors, but you literally cannot go a day without seeing / hearing people that believe this rhetoric or reading about someone being threatened with death and violence because they're "stealing" the election. I don't care about differing views, or being exposed to them. I do care about the spread of disinformation that leads to violence and civil strife
