There’s now a Canon EF mount focal reducer for Samsung NX mount which gives the 4K H.265 shooting NX1 an extra 1 stop of low light performance and the full frame look (1.08x crop to be exact) from your EF lenses!
You can now run a script file from the SD card inside a Samsung NX1 and NX500 to enable extra features.
The signs are that the NX1 and NX500 are shortly to be discontinued in the US.
The Samsung NX300 and NX1 run off the back of an open source Linux operating system.
A Homebrew project has taken to modifying the NX300, removing the video clip length recording limit and opening the doors to potentially a modified NX1 or NX500.

I am currently shooting with what I think might just be the world’s most affordable interchangeable lens 4K camera.
The Samsung NX500 in my hands is the final retail camera not a pre-production model. It’s running the final firmware V1.0 as well and shoots 4K!
The NX500 has been announced and it features the same sensor and 4K codec as the NX1, but for half the price.
If the NX500’s image performs the same as the NX1 then this will be the best overall video quality you can get for the price.
