Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I need a new tripod and I don't want to spend more than 250€. Is there a tripod you can recommend, which is usable for panning & tilting? So more it weigths the better.

best regards

Heavy'ish and dead cheap in Germany:

Thanks, I'll consider it, but 3,1kg isn't really heavy. I thought more about 7kg.
Do have the tripod yourself? How is the build quality?

best regards

No, I haven't got the tripod myself... just searched in German shops. There is a review of sorts on YouTube as well. What is your camera weight? For my GH2 with a very heavy zoom, and also for the slider, I use a 75 mm bowl Cartoni of about 3.5-4 kilos with great satisfaction. I'd hate to schlepp much more around, since 90% of what I shoot is on slider or tripod. Cost me about 250€ second hand.

Check out the Fancier 270A. Not the 270. I've used one. Great for the price.

Thanks! That one looks awesome. I think I'll order one!

Selling the heavy duty Cartoni tripod. Supports up to 48 lbs!
Its used but in perfect working condition.
This beast was about 5k brand new.
Local pickup only in the West Los Angeles/Culver City Area.
Here is a link with full specs. It was advertised for RED cameras but works perfectly with any camera.

      Hi guys,
I'm in the market for a new tripod setup, with a budget of $200-$350, and was wondering what you all use/recommend?
I used to have a Velbon CX686, which was great with its fluid head (made for some really smooth pans), until I lost it on vacation a little while back.
I'm looking for something that can:
do smooth pans and tilts carry the weight of my GH4 + lens, Zoom H5 + shotgun mic can extend to at least 5 feet I've been looking at this Manfrotto MVH500 head, but don't know what legs to put it on— any recommendations on legs for this would be great too!

I recently get this gear for my shortfilms and videoclips projects (Not run and Gun):
1- BMPCC with two Speed Booster (passive and pocket one)
      2- Sigma 18-35mm f1.8
3- Fotodiox Step Up to 77mm
4- Tiffen 77mm Variable ND Filter
      5- Tiffen 77mm T1 IR
      6- B+W 77mm UV-Haze Filter
7- Marumi 77mm DHG Circular Polarizer
      8- Xume Quick Release Adapter
Blackmagic Pocket Camera Z-Finder Still in WIP so no one from now.
Now I'm in the search of a good and budget wise Tripod and Monopod, this are my options right now:
      - Magnun VT 4000
      - Davis & Sanford Provista 7518
      - Ravelli AVTP Professional 75mm Video Camera Tripod
      - Manfrotto 504HD,546BK Video Tripod Kit with 504HD Head and 546 Tripod (Way too expensive)
Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 Fluid Video Monopod with Head
What is the best option for the tripod ??, I'm missing other option ?, Is a good idea this monopod ?
Hope I can hear your opinions
