As soon as I get the chance, I am going to put up this Arri log against Andy log and Joel log in a direct head to head. Regardless of result, I can really only choose Andy or Joel log because I can put that on all 4 cameras but the official Arri only on 1. Andy log = @Andrew Reid version of what the Arri lut might be for Lumix cameras. Joel log = Phantom Luts which are designed to replicate various Arri based movie looks. MrSMW Posted August 4 Share Posted August 4 Well I have only had the chance to test the official Arri Log vs Phantom's version (that I have been using for the last 2 seasons) and can't beat what I already have. Been through a load of the official Arri conversion LUT's and all of mine, bought or created and IMO, Phantom beats them all. So either I am doing something wrong or the Phantom LUT is pretty bloody good! As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke..." And I'm too busy to explore further so all I can say is LUMIX users, try Phantom LUT's if intensive colour grading is not your thing! If you mean the Phantom LUT, I’d suggest Neutral. Utopia is next ‘best’ but I prefer the Neutral so I can then do my own mild creative grade over the top whereas the others are more a look. I downloaded it so have a copy. I didn’t love the Phantom LUT; used neutral on my friend’s FX3 footage. IDK, he wants a very clean white grade which is great, but the skin tends to lean heavy magenta which I need to correct for. But yes, I need to try Andrew’s LUT as soon as I can but mid season very difficult as it will take some work as I bake in my LUT so will need to bake in a second conversion LUT also and well, not got the time to play with that and thoroughly test at this time.
