[Closed] Current e-bay auctions for anamorphic adapters

Recommended Posts

For those looking for advice on the suitability of the lenses they find on eBay, I encourage people to post pictures, model name and descriptions but not links to the eBay page. We don't want to drive prices up even further.

- Discuss the lenses you find if they are unusual. That knowledge is important.

- Try not to post auctions links because it happens to be an anamorphic lens. Must be discussion worthy.

- Post a link if you have questions about the suitability of the lens for filmmaking

And please no advertising.

If the rules aren't observed I will close the thread.

Greetings to everyone,

Izukar scope x1.5 Anamophic, fixed focus, rear optic scarred therefore not 100% perfect therefore the collectors should stay away and it should go cheap.

i did a short write up with yet another boring video sample here: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/2514-izukar-scope-by-ichizuka-optics-little-8mm-fixed-focus-anamorphic/

some people just love the big 1kg projection lens.. some dodgy folks call them iscorama on ebay make a crummy film to back up how great the lens is.

buying an optic based on a film clip is a complete joke. very nice for sure but it means nothing.

if you like the idea of the big anamorphics why not get the daddy the master the source the hypergonar. it may be old but no hollywood lens can match the flare of this beauty. and look not a stupid 800 dollar buy it now it is an auction.

if you like the idea of the bigger optics these lens have that old magic classic vintage coatings.

hypergonar by the master henri chretien http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-Vintage-H-Chretien-Hypergonar-Hi-Fi-2-Anamorphic-Lens-Excellent-Condition-/111054515394?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19db5d6cc2

Not mine but is a Moller cost that much now?

the seller is a nice bloke and one of the early adopters of the baby moller his lens is a good one i assume it is priced to make it easier to sell.

when you have those mollers and you see how nice the image is it is difficult to let them go.

regardless of any new fangled  anamorphic optics coming along in the future a good vintage lens will always be sexier and have more character than a new expensive  bit of china.

Ok, seriously . . . I've seen this thing on ebay all the time. It looks insane. big front, short length, smaller protruding rear . . .

Who has actually tried this thing?! I want to see footage or pictures from it. Something about the fact that it pops up again every once in a while makes me wonder if it is a hassle or something.
