shoottheshot
Hey all - I'm on the hunt for a decent, budget-friendly 7 inch field monitor. I was looking at the following: MustHD M701H Aputure VS-2 FineHD LILLIPUT 5D-ii/O/P Feelworld FW759 Any recommendations or experiences with these? Thanks... JazzBox
Aputure VS2 is very nice, especially for the price. Of course the colors are not the most accurate in the world, but it's ok!
IronFilm
For the price it appears Aputure FineHD VS-2 wins. That combo of low price and high resolution is a killer combo. But consider also spending a little more and getting a BMD Video Assist instead. JazzBox

I went from VS-2 (normal, not FineHD) to BMD Video Assist 5" and I'm more then happy: better sharpness, better peaking and the possibility to record ProRes. Of course, after I tried Atoms Shogun... I miss all those extra features such as false color, LUT etc... but I can't afford it.
Geoff CB
I'll also chime in with Aputure VS-2 FineHD. Great features at the price, love that it does anamorphic conversion. Like others have said though, contrast is to high and there is no way to fix it.
IronFilm
Finally getting full HD resolution at an extremely low price point is the killer feature of the Aputure FineHD VS-
Fredrik Lyhne
Does anyone have any experience with the Ikan DH5 or DH7? Thinking about getting the DH5 for my GX85. They're also Full HD but they only weigh 92 gram and 260 gram without batteries. The VS-2 weighs 380 grams. I really wish Aputure made a 5" monitor as the VS-2 seems great for the money! shijan
probably Lilliput H5 (the HDMI only brother of Lilliput Q5) will be the best one if they release it in near future and if they don't overprice it.
TheRenaissanceMan
If you don't need it for critical color rendering, the VS-2 Fine HD is an excellent choice. Picked one up a couple months ago and can't imagine life without it.
M Carter
Any of those have blue-only? Even though many cameras don't output bars, it's still good to know you're in the ballpark exposure and color-wise. If I'm shooting without a bars-capable camera, I tune it up on my NLE before I head out. (I have a Marshall and it stays accurate for months). Had a friend who really blew it big-time with a monitor that was too bright... reshoot city!
