aaa123jc got a reaction from Andrew Reid in ENTRY VIDEOS: Find the best video quality for under $200 - fun EOSHD Challenge
Thanks. Maybe it's just nostalgic but I really like this camera even though it lacks tons of features that I can't live without ?. It reminds me of my very first camera and the first video my friends and I made back at 2006. Oh the good old days when 720P was considered as cutting edge technology ?.
    Thank you.
I nearly got assaulted. Thank god I went home 15 mins earlier that night! And my girlfriend decided she was going to be lazy that night and not walk the dogs. One of the victims was attacked at the place we usually walk our dogs ?.
The camera is just 1080P. I tried to shoot for more dynamic range but it is no match for our modern cameras. But the colour rendition is surprisingly good ?.

I was originally planing to shoot a short "music video" for one of my vocal cover. However, an event very bad happened to my city and the region I live so I didn't have the opportunity to do a proper video.
Luckily I have brought the camera with me on a half-day trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. I was filming my girlfriend, as usual, and her good friend. I wasn't planing to use these footage for the challenge, so... hopefully I wouldn't get the last place because I really like this new camera!
Anyway, this is a very fun competition indeed. Would love to take part again!

I mainly use GH5 and EVA1 for my professional work so I don't really have a choice. It is full manual focus for me. But this is because the auto focus of these cameras are quite bad and extremely bad, respectively.
Sometimes I missed having decent auto focus system. Especially when I have to hand the camera to my friends (who come to help me for my job), and they are used to working with Canon or Sony cameras. I even had one time when my best friend filmed the whole event totally out of focus!
Manual focus vs auto focus essentially depends on one's own preference. IMO.

Just like Dan, I've also been a long time lurker of the blog and the forums, and the challenge seemed fun. I shot this yesterday and edited it in the evening. I think it turned out OK. Unfortunately I didn't have an ND, so that meant infinite DoF and fast shutter speeds.

Finally got a bit to take a walk and shoot on a hot/grey evening on Sunday.
Had a lot of fun putting this together and am ready for more challenges/different stipulations or price brackets hahaha

Or just round 2 of this same challenge

Is all hack not permitted? Or just Magic Lantern?
Just saw some very cheap cameras at local stores. And what a fun challenge it is!

Well, I haven't posted on EOSHD for ages, but when I saw this competition I thought that sounds fun. I dropped by on Bexhill-on-Sea on the South Coast yesterday on my way to somewhere else, and shot this footage over an hour or two.  No grading, straight out of camera. Manual settings (although fairly limited choice that's all I'll say). Edited on my laptop this evening. I bought the used camera on ebay for £133. I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for Andrew.  As long as I don't come last.

aaa123jc got a reaction from jonpais in Sony A7 III or Fujifilm X-H1?
Thank you everyone. You guys are so helpful.
I've decided to go for the NX1 because it is very cheap. I can now invest the money on other gears. I still really like the Sony A7 iii though. The footage @jonpais had post is really terrific. Natural and detailed. Perfect for documentaries, IMO.
If I need the Sony A7 iii, I can still rent it. I've been renting it repeatedly since it came out. So... I guess I can live with that. In the meantime I will just save up until I can easily buy it and its lenses without breaking the bank. ?
