  1. We will see, if CLog 3 on the R8 looks anything like Clog3 on the now old C300MKII, which in Cine 4K has an impressive image, UHD, 2K, HD not so much due to mushy codec in lowlight. Colours and gradeablility of the C300MKII still beats an S1H imho in natural light. Lit sets is something the lowlight monsters of the S series really shine though. They don´t need much of it, but without it the mostly look dull. Anyway, so far, Canon users on this forum have seemed not to be in love with the late 10bit Canon hybrids, except the R5 for its RAW image.
  2. Feeding the devil so it can unfold, means, it´s still the devil. A bully thief and murderer. No admiration for that. Elton Murks is the ultimate murks man, hyper privilged narcist. Him and the other narcists already buying islands, bunkers and shit to survive the ai shit they started. ai is stupid. no matter what it will be able to process and spit out. The term white privileged cis man really makes sense in this regard. No one seems to care. Shame.
  3. Micro HDMI, no IBIS. No external RAW as Emanuel just stated. The latter via micro HDMI would not have been so great to deal with anyway. 4K60p FF vs Lumix S5 II S35 4K60 is great to have, though might be too little for Canon due to lack of IBIS, micro HDMI and potential overheating at 4K60p. Canon stating, 4K60 can be limited by hot operating temperatures, as german test site slashcam is citing. Best value for my uses would be a S5 II. But not interested in new purchases. If I keep my S1, that will still be plenty in regards of a hybrid cam.
  4. Maybe our friend meant, a piece with running time of 2min max.:) But see this, one of the coolest F3 posters from the last three years, leaves the F3 behind. So grab a coffee or hot chocolate or tea and some tasty treat like omelette, with eggs from organic farming, grilled tomatoes and onions, and get ready the rollercoaster of emotions. 😥
  5. Awesome write up, thanks! This is what has been great about this forum. Thank you for your generous contribution. @Maxbrand Interesting enough to me that I assumed you filmed this with the FX6. Don´t know exactely why. But usually it´s the modern look I am associating with the Sony powerhouse. These Asteras are really something. But we all know that.:) Still love the trailer:)
  6. Neither do I agree against great autofocus:) I would love a 1inch 10bit, 2x T2.2 lens, with great ergos, great "manual AF", that for under 1100EUR. PDAF with great battery life and image. Pixel perfect HD up to 100p would be enough, 4K up to 30p. Great image means, GH5 quality is perfect, with own luts and with GH5 MKII's absence of sharpening.
  7. I agree Thank you for your test videos. I agree, judging from your videos. Sharpening, noise reduction and low bitrate are the same flaws, as ever before unfortunately. Colours are spiffy.🙂 Still, I think a non flag ship would be good for saving some money:) Btw, here is a go pro and some spiffy content done with it. Watched the first part and wholeheartedly enjoyed, image as well, despite being mushy by closer inspection. Like the ooc colour. What´s the best video smartphone for under 300 or under 250 in your opinion used or new? best and cheers @markr041
  8. I liked all the outdoor shots from the GH6 better:) More sublte tones, skin without the pinkness of the S5. Good test, thank you for posting. ISO640 is not even Dual Gain, right? Still GH6 is performing lovely. But GH6 should have had PDAF and the quality of S5 IBIS! Well..
  9. Btw, the seller of the 5dii mailed me, if i wanted the nifty 50 f1.8 plastic fantastic and a camera bachpack for free. So i got a 5d2, less than 28.000 shutter counts, the 50 1.8 and a backpack for 150 eu. Now looking for cheap cf cards. Love the ergo and look of the camera body.
  10. Well, still didn't get around it, sorry. Gruesome, I know.:) Actually the artefact as a fact itself is pretty gruesome. When it appears it's ugly, relevant and hard to believe. The craziest artefactg has been for the c300 mkii in 2k 444, where in one frame the head of a person completely disappeared. Any way will send you the GH5 sample these days. @hyalinejim cheers:)
  11. To cite a good forum friend regarding the comment above: "For more information, join channel @fuck_right_off"
  12. With great pleasure. Finally i can share that gruesome artefact with a friend from the forum.:) Will do that tomorrow via PM. cheers
  13. Gh5, big pink blotches under certain circumstances like reddish skin ,that in Vlog 10bit 422 4k 25p 150mbit. S1 seems okay but prone to oversaturated reds and blues in Vlog after conversion to 709. Both channels can be desaturated before conversion though.
  14. I second that @John Matthews But much more than that I would love a GX cam with GH5 goodies but without the pink blotchyness in Vlog under certain conditions and skin. LX100 seems cool as a concept but in reality a fly by wire lens does not need to be spoiled by 10bit prowess giving us only 80% of the sensor estate in a though compact but hardly pocketable body. Too many compromises so far. For the 1 inch line like the LX15 it would perfect to have 10bit in that kinda truly pocketable body. Though the lens is hardly covering the whole sensor, at least at the wide end it is vignetting with hard cut edges plus bending and blurring in photo Raw. FZ line, heck yeah, S16 sensor size, 28- 200 T2.8 lens, lens with hard stops for manual focus with PDAF, 12+ MP Dual Gain sensor, 10bit, NDs, timecode, SDI. But nobody would buy that thing, because it would be too expensive and too video centered plus "only" S16. Without the other goodies i wouldn't need 10bit. FZ2000 is still more than 600 EU on the second market. So GX line and LX15 successor, yes please!:)
  15. Hey Rinad! @Rinad Amir 35mm, i see:) You dropped two super hot infos on two obscure and legendary zoom lenses. The Konica 35 to 100 2.8 and the Zeiss 40-120 2.8. Just sayin thanks again and hello.:) I got three of the Konicas because of you, one beat up but splendid image though with zoom creep, one perfect in all regards. Anyway. I loved 28 on boosted mft with crop 1.4 of FF. So I take the 28. I grab the tiny Canon nFD 2.8. Love that lens. Maybe I got a superiour sample. Mine is just splendid.
  16. @hyalinejim Cool thing, that is, being able to pick them without the other. Btw, my handmade SLog Curve with saturation and rgb curves adjusted was my last resort for some shots in 8bit SLog2 from the Sony A7sii. It was a camera with a rather lackluster implementation of Slog.:)
  17. Crackin! Haha! 🙂 I figured the same. @BTM_Pix Such a silly text and maybe I should change my muaha into a thumbs down.
  18. Nice trailer. Witty, snappy dialogues, good rhythm and acting. Shot with the Sony FX6?:) It sounds goot too.:)
  19. I built a set lut for an arri amira project. it has a nice look to it under uv, ir and various other outdoor lighting situations. Now I have been using my own flashy lut for other projects with Mavo LF and Lumix S Vlog material and it is neither accurate nor keeps colours intact. But interesting enough desaturating before and after the grading pipeline gives it back its integrety. Color correction within the node workflow gives it back its plausibility, keeping character and beauty, which this lut was built for as well. That in 70% of the cases. For 8bit Slog2 on the FS700 it did not work well at all.:) Oversaturated reds and blues was the problem. I did a handcurve once for SLog2 material, which beat everything I was able to achieve with the official lut or CST. So I am always open for different ways. What do you mean by curve before Gamut? Do you mean a separate gamma transform and a separate gamut tranform? How do you do that? @hyalinejim Awesome post btw. Thank you!
  20. I think Panny ist sweet with tungsten based light, 5600k natural light sometimes a bit boring.
  21. I will. @FHDcrew At the moment I am in lack of artistic projects and in lack of a creative community. Busy with gruesome grading work.:/
  22. Plan on doing the same. Got a 5DII with 28.000 or so shutter count, exellent condition for 150Euro. Just looking at it gives me more joy than looking at my S1. I think it is time to part with the latter, keep the L-mount 24-105 just in case but using the 24-105 Canon L, which I got from the same seller for 300 Euro. Too bad I didnt grab his additional offer: nifty 50 1.8 plus the cool and infamous Canon 70 300 green ring for 100 Euro. Wondering how the latter would behave on a S5II regarding AF. Well nifty 50 for a start and some time later the Mattias Burling favorite, the 35mm F2 USM with image stabilization. Oldies but goldies.:)
  23. Regarding GH6, information regarding image quality is very contradictory. Noise reduction and anti rolling shutter algorithms messing with the image too much to be reliable enough to trump a GH5II by a meaningful margin, if at all. I would have been interested by the promise of a pocket4K image in a GH5 body. But it´s not like that it seems. It has proved to hold onto colour and resolution much better than a GH5s in low light but that on locked shots with little onscreen movement. Forum friends have reported here that digital mambo jambo, 3D noise reduction is degrading the otherwise potentially great image quality from this camera. I hope to get more insight into this, as I am still interested in this intriguing camera. Btw no Prores for UHD modes and no Prores LT is just a super dumb move! No battery grip, wtf. For FF, please, Timecode and 4K60p full frame and open gate, 10bit 422, All Intra, rolling shutter less than 15ms in open gate. Nothing else needed. Make it 3000 Euro. With SDI and internal ND for a 4000 model. Thank you!
  24. It´s doing very slight and small steps, at least my copy is.:) @newfoundmass Once I saw it on mine, I cannot unsee it. The beauty of the Canon L 24-105 is in the mechanic and haptic quality. It is a joy to hold and operate. The manual focus allows hard stops with override. The Panny 24-105 is fly by wire all the way. I will still keep that lens just for giving it a try on a S5II bodies some time, if I come to rent one for a job.
