  1. The transcoding pain will soon be over, Premiere is getting support soon. The DR, is quite fine for me, I upgraded from the canon t3i, and it was a huge dif. You just gotta protect the highlights, apart from that, the NX1 has the best video quality i've ever seen/worked with (I've worked with 5DM2, T3i, D800, Nikon D7300 and a few others). Im fully confident this is the best video camera around for the price range.
  2. Basically this. The Nx1 without a doubt the best IQ out there unless you go for an FS7 / 1DC and higher range cameras, it is trully outstanding. I too was set out to buy a GH4+metabones for over a year, but then I discovered the NX1 and read a bit more about it, ended up getting the NX1 and am currently editting my first official job with it, so far Im very very impressed. Its incredibly versatile, you can make it look cinematic or video'ish
  3. 5D3 is still an amazing camera, with or without RAW. For Video i'd recommend the NX1 instead of the GH4 though, much better image, cleaner, and now that Premiere will support h265 native, the workflow will become much simpler.
  4. Tom Waits has some readings and others as well, but their voices are often too "harsh". Stuff like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnNblizjuEk It doesnt have to be poems, any sort of voice acting/quotes/one liners etc.. I havent, will take a look =)
  5. Hey, I've been searching for poems/voice ofs to include on some of my edits, but dont know where to look or how to look. Anyone got any suggestions ?
  6. I never use stabilization, I use the strap to reduce the microshakes, and then just good old premiere stab. I cant afford a stabilizer, nor would I like to, they are heavy, tiresome and a total pain in the ass if Im doing it all alone. I have never tried the lightweight ones (Nebula or Pilotfly), so I could be wrong, but I still dont think its the best solution, at least for me, run & gunning all the way.
  7. Did you use Lut to grade ? That footage looks great ! If so, care to share which lut you used ?
  8. I 5D Mark 2 can be bought (second hand) for about 700€, or an A7 for the same price or cheaper. Theres also the RX10 M2 which is a little over the 1k mark, but far superior. Your recommendation is indeed good, but with a little more digging, one can find better deals.
  9. Ninja 2 is currently 295$ and I believe theres no time limit.
  10. Just saw this video, is it just me, or the image shakes incredibly when you change focal ? **Actually it has micro jitter all over, even when on a tripod...something is wrong with the sensor stabilization. I was disapointed by this, it seems to be an A7R2 with better low light, still 12mpx which is very disapointing.
  11. Transcoding will soon be a thing of the past with the new H265 support from Adobe. The banding on the skies, for me, thats the worst part, but I guess without transcoding it should be fixed. This camera is a serial killer IMO, destroys everything within the price range, and above, its a gorgeous little camera ! I still havent used it for photography yet, since im currently waiting for the arrival of my 30mm f2. Great tests
  12. For quite a while, I used to edit color in lightroom. My workflow would be Import all the files - color grade - export - edit in vegas Not that big of a deal, but you should def start using lumetri, is simple and after a while u get used to it.
  13. Its because of the Dis, its quite an annoying effect. Also I noticed, while using this, you get "micro" shakes on the footage, its best to shoot without it and then stabilize in post.
  14. But you already own the NX1, thats the most viable option.
  15. I will as soon as I start recording
  16. Great news and thanks a lot for giving me an insight of how stock is being used. Throughout this month, Ill probably be filming some stuff exclusively for Stock Footage, a bit of everything and then start uploading. I guess Ill upload these clips as well, nothing to lose =)
  17. Thats a problem for me, I never used stock, and dont know anyone who has. When you did buy it, how was your experience ? Did the footage come graded ? What were you searching for ? The shots I shared, were just to have an Idea of what Im shooting, I probably wont put those up for sale, I hardly think there would be interest, but I wanna know more about what should I do.
  18. Thank you Ill be checking that and see what people are buying.
  19. You have one of the best video cameras around, and you think whats cripling you is the camera somehow ? The Nx1 is an incredible piece of gear, and it can produce indredible film look, or digital look if you prefer, have some time to test the camera out, I highly doubt you would do better with another camera. Get used to it, improve on it, its an amazing piece of gear.
  20. I did purchase the EOSHD LUT but havent had the time to read the guide or use it, just did some simple grading with the M31 LUT, trying to match the Canon Colors that I quite love ! I used the Nikon 35mm f2.5 filled with fungus that a friend gave me, its a war rig and worth absolutely nothing, but I love it ! I will be getting a few more fast Vintage lenses, they work great with the NX1.
  21. So, Yesterday I went out and took the camera with me, just to try and film something that would probably be worth putting on, Heres some examples of what I shot, it was some random event going on (Wine), so I grabbed a few grapes footage, no landscapes yet. But this left me with a question, do you guys sell them graded, corrected or ungraded ? Is these even worth uploading ? Should I search around and see whats the demand from the people who buy stock footage ? I have absolutely no idea what sells and what doesnt.
  22. Ill be making a small clip showing off some of my footage and share with you guys, but I guess Ill have a try...
  23. Hey Recently as some of you may know, I've aquired the lovely NX1 with its amazing detail and 4k quality. One of my friends suggested me that I should try and sell some of my footage on stock banks, considering I live on an exotic island with beautifull landscapes (Madeira-Portugal). What do you guys think ? Is there a demand, of course it will depend on how good the footage is, what are the most popular and what are usually the prices for these sort of things ? I never tried to sell stock footage...
  24. Its a médium format with 0.8x crop compared to fullframe ?! Doesnt that defeat the purpose of....Medium Format ?
