  1. There is a crop however when you enable IBIS + Digital Stabilisation. Just saying.
  2. What really baffled me here with the 5DMKIV, 1DX MKII and MJPEG, is that the XC10 (Like it or hate it) is a 2000 USD Camera with an inferior Image processor (Digic 5) but comes with a more "modern" codec : XF-AVC 4.2.2 Codec 8Bit internal and 10 external and Canon Log. If they could have done that on a Digic5 IP, why can't they do that on a new Digic6+ IP??!?!?
  3. If only it could be cheaper...
  4. Saw that too and WOW I want this on the GH5 ;-)
  5. It was you!!! Let's be honest, you are in fact a Panasonic agent and now have some remorse for what you have done ;-)
  6. Thanks Mat, this is ok, I have a spare camera (GX7MKII) and I can survive for a week without the GH4. It is just that this Vlog story from Panasonic is a mess from start to end. They should have give it for free. Adding all steps was the prefect recipe for stories like mine. Bottom line if this happen to more people, this upgrade will cost them more than they earned by selling it.
  7. Hi everyone, Here you are a little story that I hope will help you to get ready if this ever happen to you and hopefully, if Panasonic is reading this forum, could be fix in the future. Now, before going any further I am not a Heavy user of V-Log L and think that this option from Pana was a scam (They could have pushed it for free), anyway here I go. I purchased V-Log L in April and activated it on my GH4 without problem, then, a month later my GH4 started to accumulate dust on the censor and despite all my best effort I could not remove these little white dots. I went to Panasonic Akihabara Center in Tokyo (where I live) and when I showed them my camera, they told me that the bust was stuck between the sensor itself and the cover that protect the sensor. They announced me that it will cost me 70,000 Yen to fix it (understand change the sensor), but they realised that the camera was just purchased in January and took everything under warranty... So far so good. 48h later I got my Camera back, spent 20 minutes setting everything back to the way it was (They reseted the camera). Today however I wanted to shoot in V-Log L and I realized that this setting was gone... Then it hit me... Panasonic must have changed more than the sensor on my camera without telling me, or was it their factory reset that wiped-out my V-Log L? Anyway, I had the code with me and decided to re-enable V-Log L online... And this is where everything started to go the wrong way. 1. The Code was no longer valide 2. Called Panasonic Akihabara Center, and while they have everything in record their engineer said that V-Log L could not go away like this and just for a new sensor. 3. After insisted quite a bit, they double check and call me back to announce that they will have to send my camera back to the factory alongside my Key-code to sort this out, ETA? At least a week!!!! Well you have it, if you ever need to send your camera to Panasonic don't imagine for a minute that you will get if back with V-Log L if it was installed on your camera before and expect to waist more time to get it fix...
  8. Not complaining about the price of the Body itself, I also believe that the price is VERY competitive. Has I said it is launched at the same price the GH4 was launched 2 years ago. What I do not like is the cost of the accessories... 43K Yen for the grip and 9K yen for their new "heat proof" battery is quite a lot.
  9. The Camera will cost (in Japan) 160,000 Yen (Body), then if you want to shoot 30" you will need to add 43,000 Yen for the Battery grip and 1 Batteries at 9,000 Yen??? (I presume that you can use the one given with the camera and only need to by a spare one) It quickly start to be expensive. The price was attractive, after all it is price in Japan at the same price that was the GH4 when launched... But adding the cost of the Battery grip and another battery... Not sure now.
  10. In the Japanese press they are not mentioning that the battery grip is extending the recording time. It seems to be a Limit imposed on the Camera due to heat problem. Where did you see that adding the battery grip will extend the recodring time? Again, where are you seeing the battery grip is extending the recoding time? Can't find this on the Japanese press. ---- UPDATE ---- Ok, got my answer from Fujifilm Press page また、4K動画の記録時間を約30分に延長するなど、「X-T2」の性能を最大限に引き出すアクセサリーです。 It indeed extend the recording time to 30". I will wait what Panasonic will announce, can shoot almost 2h on the GX7MKII and did 1h on my GH4.
  11. Seriously? 10 Minutes of video recording in 4K? 15 in HD? WATH FUCK?? 動画記録は最大3,840×2,160/29.97P。4K記録は連続最大約10分まで、フルHDは同約15分まで、HDは同約29分まで。
  12. Everyone, thanks for the feedback... I will keep on going native then. Cheers!
  13. I am not confortable with manual focus lens only... Otherwise I would have jump on Samyang. I have read a lot of bad review on this 10mm, while other models are outstanding. And, as said just above I am not confortable with manual focus lenses. Mainly landscape, street view and occasionally craftworkers https://www.youtube.com/user/TokyoStreetView I wanted to love Sony, but the early problems with the A7RII, A7SII coupled with their recording time limite (without hack), horrible menus, limited Remote app, poor battery time, amazingly expensive body, bulky (and expensive), soft image in 4K (A7SII is softer than the GH4), lenses couple to the fact that there are no Sony repair center in Tokyo* for the average consumer stopped me in my purchase. For the same price as a Sony A7SII I will prefer to wait and go back to Canon for a potential 5DMK IV *There is actually one but you need to own 3 lenses 2 bodies and pay a yearly fee, while Nikon, Canon, Pana have a repair center that handle most your problem in an hour or a day at most (in my case their changed the sensor of my GH4 in 24h because of dust)
  14. That's a bargain! In Japan it is announced at 180,000 Yen or 1,700 USD! (http://news.panasonic.com/jp/press/data/2016/06/jn160615-1/jn160615-1.html)
  15. Hi everyone I need some advise. As for today I own a GH4 and GX7MKII with a 12-35mm, 35-100mm and 15mm. I have two problems with this setting 1. I need faster lens (1.7 is not that great on the 15mm) 2. I need a wider angle than the 12mm. Now my problem is as follow. Shall I get M43 lenses? The just announce 12mm 1.4 is sexy, but the price is just insane. While the 7-14mm from Pana is affordable but not that sharp and stuck to F4 and the 7-14 from Olympus at 2.8 cost twice as much as Pan one, but is amazing. Or... Shall I go the Speedbooster way and get a Tokina AT-X 11-20 F2.8 PRO DX 11-20mm F2.8 and a 18-35 Sigma Art (all Canon mount)/ To give you an idea, the cost of The Olympus 7-14 will cover the cost of the Tokina and Speedbooster. While the cost of the New Pana 12 1.4, will cover the cost of the Simga and Speedbooster. I have seen a few 4K Video shot with the Sigma and this lens seems to outperform my 12-35mm un every way (please correct me if I am wrong), but I was not able to find videos shot in 4K with the Tokina. Thanks in advance.
  16. The 4K out of the box on the GX is the same as the G7 or GH4, and in my opinion, if you put aside the amazing ISO performance of a Sony Camera, the GH4 produce a sharper video than a a7Sii for example and have a better color science than Sony's. Then add on top of that the price of a Sony... Anyway this GX is my B Cam, and I love it. Not perfect but affordable.
  17. So you need a "Hack" that may break your camera warranty, a battery grip with two batteries on a 3000 USD camera to do something that a 800 USD Camera can do out of the box? Just saying...
  18. Of course. Will amend the post to make it clear.
  19. If you were wondering how long you can shoot with a Lumix GX80/85/7MKII, well at least 1h04 minutes! Or the full length it takes to ride the Yamanote line in Tokyo ;-) And, will the trains here are air cooled, the camera after 1h was just barely warm and it had enough juice for maybe another full hour ride... Impressive! Note. 1. The Camera used was a GX7MKII from Japan (English menus are now available on these cameras) 2. Used a 12-35mm Lens 3. Tiffen Variable ND 4. Dual IS was on 5. Battery was fully charged when started recording. 6. The video was shot in 4K30p (Update)
  20. Doing this as we speak ;-) Tested all Stabilisation available in FCPx plys Lock&Load, with my camera mounted on the 12-35 and I cannot achieve such level of stab with Dual IS
  21. I am speech less, I cannot achieve such level of stabilisation on mine with the same setting. Granted I am on FFCPx not PP
  22. This was not shot entirely handled, right? Only a few shots... Well done, but it seems that the GX80/85/7MKII is not so good in Low Light and there are few artefact on your footage too (I just food this out today). Still a great camera, but I will keep on using it as a B-came.
  23. Yesterday by mistake I pushed the record button on my camera while having a drink on a terrace in Tokyo (28c here). The camera was on the table and 30 minutes later when I took the camera I was wandering why it was "hot"... have been recording for a good half hour by mistake!! So to answer your question, it can do FOR sure record 30 minutes without any problems and this despite being under Tokyo's sun!
  24. I just only had bad experience with DJI, first with their Ronin, so hard to calibrate and once done the result was not that great (worse than my TV-Came Single). Add to this the worse support ever (They even refuse to meet me in their office here in Japan for help. I just asked them to show me how to make it worked, they refused). Then I bought an Osmo... Work great when it comes to stabilisation but the X3 video quality is just crap (Especially in 4K).... Sent if back after 2 days. Bottom line, I will not in the near future purchase any new DJI products... This company comes with the worse user experience possible, they make really good locking and well built products, promise a lot and at the end...
