  1. I don't know what angle he used, but the cadence doesn't look as good as it does in the balloon sequence. It might just be a trick on my eyes and post work/compression. Could be a majority of things in play here. But yeah, point is I prefer the look of motion in Balloon. Yeah, if that's how it comes off then I wrote it wrong. I just wanted a more everyday set up to look at, someone walking around a city without a gimbal for example.
  2. The balloons footage looks great, but the gimbal stuff makes me want to vomit. I'd rather have micro jitter than those floating to hard stop movements. There's a lot of chromatic grain though. Wonder what ISO it was shot at... Anyway, it looks amazing, and it seems like the shutter was actually set to a good angle compared to the "models" shot (which was way too sharp). Liking it so far, both nature and balloons are making me super excited! They should let me play with it in NYC and get some street cinematography! I do all my work handheld with monopod, and I like the look of it.
  3. Night? lol hmm the talk about the older cameras dropping in price is tempting. Used the UM in 2016 for a gig and I loved working with it. Seeing that the UMP might drop down a couple of bucks, IS very tempting, but the size of the BMPCC4K is the reason I preordered. Who knows, maybe I’ll get the UMP too!
  4. Wrote my comment from watching the youtube link on my iPhone X last night and now I saw the vimeo link on my iMac Pro. WOW, It looks great, the sharpness of the Sigma plus 4K is a little to crazy looking for me, but that's an easy fix with a tiny bit of blur. BUT a lot of clients love that SHARPNESS, so it's def a plus to finally be able to have it! I think the coloring is boring but it's not bad at all. Even the beach scenes are totally acceptable in grade, just boring.
  5. I think it looks good. He could have pushed those shadows a little in his grade to make it a little less harsh and contrasty though. i do see the cadence in the water though, i wonder what shutter angle it was shot and if that had anything to do with it. I’m glad I’ll have both the OG-pocket and this one when it finally comes.
  6. Yeah, it’s weird that they haven’t even made an new announcement at all as well. They keep showing it at different venues but no new official information. Is anyone out there using it yet? Give us hints
  7. Hmm, waited and waited for this, and was hoping so badly that we’d get an articulating screen. Nope, but touchscreen and better AF with better sensor might be enough for a purchase. Prizing on B&H is almost 1000, which is also weird. Feels like 699 or 799 max would have been a sweetspot when the people buying this probably already owns the previous one.
  8. I see this statement a lot, but hearing Panasonic saying that they KNOW that people WANT an update for the LX100, who's to say that they actually won't be delivering. Price might go up, like Sony's RX series, but I def am more confident we'll see a good update to an already great pocket camera.
  9. Would be so great, my husband (hobby Photographer) has the LX100 that I got him years ago for his bday. His 50th is coming up, this would be a nice gift together with the Japan trip I got him. Excited!
  10. Thanks! Yeah, maybe not the audience for the subject itself but thought I’d share it hear with all the talk about the new BMPCC4K on the rise!
  11. Thought I’d share a fun project I did for Sandy Devastation. We had 2 days och shooting and edit/color another 5. I shoot it with Bmpcc, metabones, Sigma 18-35 and Samyang 10mm cine ds. ”Zero dollar budget” Enjoy!
  12. I got it during the deal. This is all you get. USB C to C and USB C to A cables. Saved me on my vacation last week when I had to do some major color changes on my new music video coming live in a week. Shot solely handheld on BMPCC with 2 lenses. I’ll post it here when it’s live! Such a beast, BMPCC4K can only be better!
  13. Love Phillip, he was also the first one I’ve seen to show non-slowmo stuff, which is what I would use it for. And it looks impressive! I’m intrigued, B&H says they’ll get more around July 13.
  14. Swedish expat here living in NYC. When and where can I watch this?! My best friend back in Stockholm saw it at the premiere and he said it was the best swedish movie he had ever seen.
  15. No, Samyang, Rokinon and Bower are all the same
  16. No, their Xeen line is like 2K per lens.
  17. I mean, that's not news. They know people will buy it while they make a 300% profit. Just how it works. EDIT: 300% sounds like nothing, let's say 1000000000% profit ?
  18. Thanks, yeah, I ended up 2x sometimes 3x my sequence. But still ended up with blurry end results after encoding. So I ended up encoding in same sequence width and height, then used a program called GIF Brewery, which had tons of more options while finalizing. They look great now, but hate when clients ask for weird ass deliverables. Last week I made 3 intro videos for Queen Latifah, Katie Couric and Madonna Badger for their talk at Cannes Lion and they asked me to send them 720p 0.6Mbps finals, I was like, uhhh okay?! Well well, THANKS FUZZ
  19. So I'm making small gifs out of a video and the client wants, for example, a 300x250. So first I made a sequence in premiere with the exact width and height, and scaled down my images and text, and everything became super blurry. So I decided to work in a bigger sequence and then render it out to clients needs. BUT AGAIN, SUPER BLURRY. I can't find an option in premiere to set the down sampling technique used (like in PS there's bicube and so on). Any tips how to make this work??
  20. That's a little crazy. Only 2.5 months until release, and they don't show any footage or nothing, but spent tons of money on the PR for it (images on their website etc).
  21. Gah, I have the money, so might just pick one up. I’ll have the whole summer to practice. And at NAB they showed it with the BMPCC4K so it should work right?
  22. Before buying the LX100 for my husband, I got him a Sony A6XXX something and neither of us like the image quality so I got him the LX100 and he still uses it weekly on his little hobby rounds around the city. I saw the release video for this new Sony and it has the one thing my husband wants, articulating screen! After reading your comments in this thread, I might recommend to him to stick to the LX100 for a little longer in case Pana decides to drop something later this year! Glad I came to read this thread!
  23. @Axel Thanks for your reply! Going to give it a better read later today but last night when I was watching footage, the “robotic” feel did put me off a bit. But that might also be the result of someone not knowing how to use it correctly, no? I might have to test one out before purchase.
