I already had a 72mm clamp floating around in the draw that came with a morphic lens from years back. Similar to the vid-Atlantic ones, basically a tin tube with rear 72mm thread and nylon screws, not at all Redstan quality but holds it well enough for testing with. As soon as the FM lens is in my hands, I'll probably throw that clamp in the river.

That's what I did, I used a  72 filter clamp from redstan, then  a 72mm to 52 step down ring and at end

it was a single focus system for that super sharp iscomorphot lens another one of my old failed projects.

not good for 5d sensors but 7d down it was sweet.

that optic is better kept  safe in the future who knows people might like the idea of something fairly modern  and

small like the animex that can do proper focus

but you seem to want to keep it on the topic of Who wants one, I am one of those kinds of people who asks a few questions before buying anything, not after, I'm not asking for their secret recipy,  there are always other realizations after. I read here that people wheren't too enamoured with the SLR Magic after the fact, Is there a more open FM lens topic here where I can ask the questions. It doesnt matter who is selling something Sony Canon or whoever, if I asked a question I would expect at some point an answer, not to be told to ask elsewhere, that would only get my back up. I certainly wouldnt buy anything of anyone who tells me they wont answer my question until i'm a paying customer, I also try to stear clear of middle men.

FM Lens  test with Isco Ultra-Star 2x anamorphic

All the mugs who jumped on the bandwagon a year or less before the bubble burst about 6 months ago have already sold up or are selling the lens they thought would turn their stuff 'cinematic' without them having to put any effort in and this has brought prices down drastically.  I keep having to force myself to not grab one of the umpteen kowa 8z's or similar I see popping up for less than half what they were going for a year ago..  It's a true anamorphic nutters paradise on ebay at the moment what with all the bandwagoners giving up due to it being too much effort.  Flooded market and prices more realistic now.  What is awesome is that a lot more kowas will show up since users will migrate to a gold or red anamorphic to use on the fm unit and only the experimenters will be willing to make the kowa and similar lenses with non 71mm diameters work.

My gold one arrived today, I am ready to put the black condom on  :D

For those of you who are still sceptical about focus module, next video test is going to be with the Isco Ultra star coming soon, and later test Kowa B&H later.

there is alot of interest in the FM , but it is a 'mystery selling company with NO TRACK RECORD '

No one is asking the question - why are they not directly answering questions on this forum when its their biggest single market and doing all the answering of questions via proxies,

 

hey nothing wrong with any discount - just someone needs to step back and have some level of checking before anyone on this forum get ripped off , now we would not want that would we.

 

Confirmation bias can cloud peoples judgement when they get excited about a product ,

I will not be buying one of these until there has been alot more testing and seeing how the quality control on this product is.

 

Just be cautious before you bulk send them a load of money upfront - I'm just looking out for  everyone - thats all!!

It would appear Comurit is showing as much excitement as i have been - I also got accused of being involved by another member due to my enthusiasm.  I guess this is something that we can actually really get excited about because the opportunities this thing opens up is rather amazing- particularly at the honest price they're asking.

What's wrong to have some discount, all my moneys goes to family's  expenses, I have not much left so if I can grab some discount, I'll take it, even if it's a small amount.

I swear on my 5 kids, I don't work for anamorphic shop, I have just asked by mail the possibility to have some discount.

Anybody else could have done this, I have tried and they said yes it's possible.

I am not a selfish person, so I have asked if it was possible to  distribute the discount on the community.

I have told them that I was going to gather some people with the same interest to have a better discount, that's all I am doing.

That's why I  have stated that the more we are the better the discount will be.

If you are still in doubt, just ask some more. No problem at all.

I spoke to anamorphic shop about having a video test with  FM and the schneider version 1.

The answer is: Yes, it's on his way today.

lets be realistic its not going to be ideal having the end of your lens with a lip stopping it fitting flat with the end of the FM adaptor

 

they might say its fine but have they actually tried it for real its going to make a differance to the focusing if the lens is not flush.

its pure physics its going to make a differance .

 

the Schneider II and Isco and Sankor gold anamorphic lens all have flat ends I would stick with them ..
