@ Liszon
I am going to enquire about warranty.
I will let you know.
the anamorphic shop replied like this:
FM Lens is an optical part which have to be used with other lenses
We give 12 months warranty for a full lens like a VM Lens
However this product is new and we will see how it's working in every day life. And then will change it to longer period. No need to be scared because of that
If anything mechanically will go wrong and this because of factory fault we will replace it with a new one or will change a parts

They didnt include the rails like they said they would!
It was written this on their facebook page:
Purchase includes: focus module and some rings for mounting, rail system as an example mounting.
-
No more struggling with double focus system, the single
Focus module is now for sale!!!

Hi, thanks for the link.
One problem though, I closed my FB account so can't communicate with the guy who makes these. His website also isn't up and running so no info at all about when these will ship... there's also no info on which lenses in that photo for FM that are 1.5x.
Shipping date will be announced here so no problem for that.
once their website is open you can check and ask all the infos.
Thanks

@ Andy
this goes to show that all your advices have been seriously taking :D
olympus Zuiko 100mm f2.8 with proskar ishico

just remember in 6 months time these might be worth half the price you are paying now and no one has tried one on this forum yet.
I think all the double focus anamorphics that work with FM will be more expensive.
FM will keep his price.
Just my opinion Andy and by the way the olympus 100mm you suggested is working great.
Thanks
-
come on guys, let's stop it now, such a small group, let's not destroy it.
Play nice, don't argue over this, it's not worth it.
-
Comurit, I can clearly remember that some people in this forum felt on you and they criticised you, that behind your kind move to work for all of us to have the discount, that you were trying to take profit for you personally... I supported your move and as I have said already, that was great. But, for my opinion the 10% is small in front of our massive interest. Let's see what the price of this lens will be after one month, if nobody will buy... And if the seller will not beg this community to buy his product in even lower price... That's how the market works.
Yannis 10% is better than nothing at the moment, and for me and the others it's fine.
I have told you that I've tried to get the best I could.
I did support you as well if you remember well when someone was attacking you about your anamorphic lens been overpriced, you remember that?
Come on let's not be childish, let the market go where it wants to go.
Maybe you are right, I respect your decision anyway not to buy now, maybe in a month you will get a better price.
But please respect mine and the others as well.
Cheers!

They don't want??? I'm afraid that they didn't told you the truth: I made clear to them that personally I'm not interested under these conditions. I'm sorry that I don't follow but I have made my statement clear enough already...
for your respect I don't want to public the email you sent to anamorphic shop on this forum, just stay out of this man as you could ruin what I did achieve in these months for others interesting in the 10%.
thank you!
-
Guys you can say whatever you want, but personally I'm out of this already. I will repeat: 18 guys are going to buy at once this product as soon as it will be available and just a 10% discount? For a massive order of 18? (if not more)? This should be at least 15% (if not more). Some respect to the power of market it is advised. It is also important for me, and I enjoy it giving my money, at those who are also respecting me and my pocket (especially now days that market suffers) and not just giving an answer like: "this is it, take or leave it". Now days, anamorphic sales are 50% down, so I'm sorry but, when you make an anamorphic lens (the VM 1.5x) and you can sell it for €170, it is not possible not to give an also good discount price for the FM lens... You guys some of you want to buy it? Do it. But soon this lens will be bought for much less. That's the market now days and I will personally follow. Even Iscorama is 30 to 40% down since the last 5-6 months!... From €2700++, they now sell for €1700 to €1800 (& less than those prices!!!)... So??? That's all from me.
Yannis you are out because they don't want have nothing to do with you and your proposals, I have been informed from anamorphic shop that you wrote them.
Thanks for let me know anyway!

@Comurit
The 10% discount and relayed Q&A from Anamorphicshop that you arranged is more than enough positive input to the forum IMHO. I congratulate you in getting off your ass to represent the members here.
People who can't see the bargain that they are getting before the discount need to get their heads checked I think.
The price (without discount) is already very low considering the solution it offers to many lenses.
People who already own projector anamorphics that fall below 70.1mm diameter will have the re-sale value of their lenses increased, so if they buy an FM lens or not they benefit directly from it's release. It also opens up the cinelux and isco type lenses to be used in a practical way - lenses that are (for now) considerably cheaper than most other anamorphic lenses out there.
I'd go as far as to say that this product will also rejuvenate many lenses that have been dismissed in the past. Fixed focus lenses can now be transformed into single focus for example.
It's a shame that not all can see the positive knock on effect that having this FM lens out in the wild...but they'd rather quibble over the already low cost.
It's like complaining about Scarlett Johansson's lipstick colour, after she just kissed you.
bravo!

I hope that with my posts, I don't look like the guy who appears like he will negotiate better than you or anyone else. I'm just trying to have best price possible
I am not even thinking about that, I am a bit tired of this, so I would happily pass this last steps to someone else, working as a team.
-
You have already 18 persons in your list that they agreed on purchase :)
Even if we well finally be15, this is not a bad number at all... Which can be nicely translated to 15% discount... Or, €500 total.
I don't see any reason to be shy asking a better price for such a big sale.
Yannis I did all I could believe me, since the beginning, I am not shy at all, I am used to bargain over due to my job flying all over the world.
Honestly why don't you try?
-
but the negotiation must be hard :)
The best possible price is always welcomed.
why don't you try? that would be an idea.
-
Look, we will be a nice bunch of guys that will immediately buy from them a bunch of lenses.
How can you be so sure?
-
I will suggest a €500 total including the shipping. Of course before any purchase, we need to see the final image that comes from it, something like a review. Seller must provide a nice detailed video of how the FM lens will work.
I don't think it will be possible yannis, they are just started out a business, it was already hard to get a 10% discount.
They are not B&H that can afford 50% discount free shipment and a cappuccino, come on guys.
An expert on this forum which I had the pleasure to talk on the phone told me that the price it's very low, he was quite surprised how they managed to keep the price so down like this.
I agree with you with the rest, thanks.
-
I would like to hear your opinions about the FM discount.
Thanks!

Hey, I'm talking about "look", not certanly difficult of pulling focus.
I simply don't like the extreme - unusable for my humble taste, and for the most of Hollywood big boys - look of a razor shallow DOF, because is something that clearly come from a 5D (or from a generic FF camera).
Cinema is 99% made with Super 35, so what's your point? I don't like to use words like "shitty", but I can easily spot a "shitty" 5D VIDEO LOOK from 10 miles.
And m43 looks more cinematic because the sensor's dimensions are a lot closer to Super 35 than Full Frame. In cinema the supershallow does not exist.
I don't try to replicate anything, I just saw a lot of movies and, i.e. "Dallas Buyers Club" is shot handheld (no tripod, no crane, no slider), with just practical lights and a minimal crew in just 25 days.
Is it "cinematic" or is it "shitty"?
A super shallow DOF it's not automatically "cinema": it is often an alibi to be a lazy cinematographer.
I think that "cinema" is a little more than shallow DOF. Just that! :)what about this? this was your thread, right?
'?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
was this videoish too? a bit of respect :D come on!!!! I own the bloody 5D, I wish I never did now, after all this, I like cinematic look.
I got it all wrong then!
Hang on a minute, but I use anamorphic adapters, that should give me more cinematic look
Am i right? I am settled, I don't need to buy another camera, maybe.
