  1. Just about all you need is https://geizhals.eu/ and https://www.google.com/shopping?hl=DE . Here some more pointers: Some of my cameras (G80, GH5) were actually purchased through the UK (CVP/UKDigital; one lens through https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/progadgets-kcs ), because of the EUR/GBP and Panasonic UK promotions (with EEA eligibility) making it more attractive. But I have bought locally in Vienna, AT. E.g. a-s-elektro.at which were always ones to seemingly have Panasonics in stock earlier than others (LX100, GX80 from there). Or digitalstore.at which is a high-end store which sold me my original BMPCC when that one summer deal took us by surprise (475,- EUR if I recall correctly). And sobotka.at that sold me my DC-G9. Bought lenses at edigital.at and eglobalcentral.at . Really, in the end there's not really one particular go-to place. In this day and age I just go with the ones that have stuff 'in stock' the quickest, have some special deals going on or just come in at the lowest price by looking at what pops up when I search for products using the first two links found at the top of this comment. Indeed for audio Thomann.de , Bax-shop.nl and Muziker.at are pretty much up there. Nefal.tv is pretty legit regarding high-end video I suppose. A little over 2 years ago I hadn't even set foot on American soil, but I'm there quite frequently now, so I might pick up a few things locally when I'm there in the future. Of course, B&H and Adorama do ship internationally. They had the Lumix 25mm f/1.7 for sale once, going at $99. Even with import tax and all that it would've been a bargain, but I got lucky and it flew under the radar. Then there's shops from Asia that offer VAT free guarantee when shipping to certain countries (read the conditions). You'll always be able to get just about anything through Amazon, eBay and AliExpress too now these days.
  2. Ah, hi Steve Huff! ?? I think it's perfectly usable. Aside from the slowmo that I find rather poor noisy and smudgy quality even in very bright conditions and the glitchy at best wireless connectivity with the accessory that's finally in, I find it alright... that is with the little time I've been trying it out. There's nothing quite like it, really. Guess it really depends what you expect/want from it. Do hope that like the Mavic series they'll come with a Gen II Osmo Pocket 2 Pro and Zoom, now that would be interesting.
  3. Is that a GH5? I suppose so, right? The Grand Tour is back on Amazon Prime. Car shows like it have always shown love for Lumix cameras! Interesting it's not the GH5S (I think). That one was supposed to cater to this scene since GH4 IBIS wasn't up to their needs and they'd prefer to rig the cameras up, rather than to rely on IBIS. Was the GH5S out when they started filming? Maybe not. That's such a shame about the show, takes 'em forever and then they're kind of behind on all actuality.
  4. Think I might be getting the ones from the BEHORSE store on Ali ~ https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/New-Optional-OSMO-Pocket-Lens-Filter-Kit-Accessories-ND4-8-16-32-64-PL-CPL-UV/237708_32962997409.html Those are the 'Sunnylife' ones that claim imported German glass (Schott) as well (like some of the regular camera lens Zomei filters used to say). These Polar Pros are probably the most legit: https://www.polarprofilters.com/collections/osmo-pocket-filters-accessories and also the priciest, lol. Looking forward to be puting my OsPo to use in Cape Town, SA next week!
  5. Ooh and they're doing a giveaway too!?
  6. Well, first I need a little more details on the door itself. Does it adhere to the 180 degree shutter rule? And... I actually prefer a silent shutter, does it support it? If not currently, probably nothing that WD40 won't fix. Does the door already have a rangefinder to see what's going on out there? All I know is, keep the shutter closed if you don't want to have anyone peeking in. And you've got to figure out your letterbox situation too. I know this topic can be polarizing.
  7. I think it would be a great upgrade from your (albeit amazing of course) T2i.

He be like... photos? Musicvideos is where it's at.
  9. Yes! Zach resurrected! ? Those were the good ol' days (except for that certain Egyptian scammer), things have gotten a bit rotten and turned into drama I feel like lately. We could use some of that oldschool community back (a lot either got banned or decided to stay away on their own). What ever happened with that one exotic lens?
  10. Yeah doesn't look too bad. Here neither: Not too say I would rush out and get one ASAP. Gotta wait it out until the next model launches... and maybe even then... Panasonic might have the upperhand with the S1(R). Although, admittedly, currently I'm not really in the market for a FF system and still plenty happy with what MFT offers and has the potential of.
  11. Yeah, it's the adapter and the electronic connector. Try to see if there's a firmware update you can play onto the adapter. Alternatively try and put some tape or something over the connector, should sort you out. ('Shoot without lens' hasn't carried over from the GH4, instead it's standard).
  12. Andrew will have some profiles to fix that like the Sonys, I'm sure.
  13. Bit random what they've done with it, but atleast it's interesting to see what can be done with the footage. Certainly looks alright to me.

Isn't it Sigma that created some of Olympuses optical formulas for them? I like Sigma. They've always claimed ART is for the best quality. Size and price on the backburner. Hence they have the Contemporary line-up as well. Those were supposed to strike a better balance between the three. Though, given, they haven't been doing much of those... and those that have come out... were actually pretty dang huge, lol. Don't think Lumix lenses ever looked... amazing. Especially in the GH2 days lenses like the 14-140mm and 20mm f/1.7 were popular. They were relatively compact, flexible and well-priced. But they had a very poppy modern character. Contrasty, sharp, but a bit stale at the same time as well. They did a good job, don't get me wrong, but they sorta lacked an organic vibe. It's like Samsung smartphone displays and their too vibrant respresentation of things. Think the new generation looks better. Think it was around the time the 42.5mm f/1.7 OIS and 30mm f/2.8 Macro were introduced. Quite like their looks. Have a bit more character. Of course it gets more interesting with the Leica glass. But... I guess you pay for what you get. Think Olympus PRO is still more of precision tools. Not too much of that 'ooooh look at that character, it's so legendary, ooh it has the Leica badging (but a Lumix lens cap)', just good lenses that sorta speak for themselves. It's no secret that I love their AF/MF solution with the de-clutch. That should be on every lens out there. Yeah, Olympus is doing very well out there. Not sure where the L-mount partnership is going, but I think it's an interesting team-up. Not actually the greatest fan of the mount. It's being surpassed by the E- and Z-mounts in terms of potential and flexibility. And great that there's an existing lens line-up, but... I was hoping more of a fullframe Lumix-like system, rather than a premium boutique-style one where everything is big, fluffed up and expensive. But... too soon to judge. Still having a blast with MFT and the strides they've made post-GH4 is admirable. Think there's plenty of future for me there... especially if one considers massive size and weight a downer, then that's a system that's got you covered with plenty of options to keep that in check.

Has anyone actually ever used a SLR Magic MicroPrime for E-mount? Think I got the memo these were a thing a few months ago, but kinda forgot about it. Haven't really seen anybody talking or making videos about 'em. They seem rather interesting. With most priced at 799 USD (with a huge mark-up on the European market apparently), they make an interesting set to compete with the likes of Veydra, XEEN/Samyang and Sigma CINE.
  17. Nah, he should've just send them a kind e-mail stating his case and being a little perplexed, I bet they would've replied with something along the lines of 'sorry you feel that way, we really don't mean any disrespect, we appreciate what you're doing here. Let us just see if we can get you one early still, how does that sound?'... but he didn't even give them that oppertunity. I think he might just assume the very worst out of them and out of me. Unwarranted so. Anyways. Much fuzz over nothing. I'm outta here. Gotta finish up that Jack Ryan! Don't forget to have some fun, people.
  18. I don't know... it's like getting pissed at a faint acquaintance that didn't write 'happy birthday' on my FB timeline when I never congratulated them either. But again, that's just me. Sorry you're seeing all of that differently.
  19. Think you're overreacting to all of this. Dunno mate, you're just seeing things that aren't there. I am afraid too that you're quite right. That's the way the game is played right now I'm afraid. But do you want to play ball and get in or do you want to shout from the sidelines? That's really up to you. Except... there was no such message. Companies are big... positions change... networks fade and re-establish. You want to be on the radar? You better make sure you're flying through their airspace making waves big enough to get picked up. It's a sea of content creators, filmmakers, blogs and forums out there. They can't keep tabs and stats on all and invite like the top 10 that come out of that. It's like a birthday party. I invite the people I've gotten to know well. Why would they go about it any differently? They're not mindreaders. You can't expect them to know what you want unless you make that clear to them. And how should they have known that you are back in the UK. I thought you were in Berlin as well, myself. Maybe if you shot them a message now making a case for yourself they'd be supercool to still give you one early. But instead you make up your mind about how they think about you and EOSHD and throw this unnecessary tantrum. Boycotting their products. Threatening to close the forum. Like... are you having a midlife crisis mate? Nobody is an enemy here. Why can't we just all get along, talk this over and sort this out like adults? This has nothing to do with not appreciating you or what you've done with the site and for the community. The GH2 Hack Vault and stuff back in the day got me hooked. The GH4 and anamorphic guides were great. Your blog posts... your forum comments. I might not agree with everything, but I've always respected what you did. This is a safe place for people of all kind of backgrounds and skill levels, it's great to see the comradery, playful banter and knowledge displayed. And I am in fact grateful for that and for you keeping that alive. But that's got zero to do with not being invited to a hands-on event. C'mon.
  20. You haven't got your glasses on and no Google maps either to look up what it said 'Manchester / Three Rivers'? Well, you'll end up with Manchester Three Rivers Gin. 21 Red Bank, Parade, Manchester M4 4HF, UK, which seems close to the Manchester Arena.
  21. So... then I more or less did actually answer that earlier... ?
  22. Though honestly, maybe... be better at networking? Don't have to go as far as these self-proclaimed YouTube reviewers that are mostly asslickers. But for sure keep tabs, keep on the radar. I'm not gonna get upset if I'm not invited to Timmy's birthday party and refuse a treat when he does a round of treats in class because of it. That's a little petty. That's just the industry, I mean... must not be the only company not inviting you to these hands-on events. Seems Kai was in London for the Canon EOS-R event... were you there as well? Got invited at all? It's like skipping dinner as a protest because earlier on you weren't allowed to eat a cookie. A bit unnecessarily stubborn. The only person that it really effects badly seems you.
  23. Think they showed us focus peaking when talking about 'waveforms'. Think they have little idea what they're talking about. They also called the 4/3" sensor inside slightly bigger than the Micro Four Thirds sensor... which... is not a thing. xD
  24. Would an A6500 successor still make sense in this day and age? There hasn't been active development of dedicated compact APS-C lenses for years now, if you want new native lenses, you'll probably be adapting the fullframe Sony E-mounts. There's only been 1 model each generation, each significantly increasing in price. The A6300/A6500 has a lot of issues as a camera body due to the fact they're focusing on keeping the body tiny. Tiny battery/pretty bad battery life. Only one cardslot and it's co-located at the battery compartment. There's no headphone port. The screen doesn't face forwards. There's touchscreen sensitivity, but it's implementation is really limited. The screen dims because the camera suffers from overheating and that should keep it down somewhat. You can raise the threshold of overheat protection kicking in by enabling a tripod mode... 'tripod' because it renders the camera so uncomfortably hot you can't handhold it. Ergonomics are pretty poor. There's nauseating rolling shutter. Menus are awful. Colors are iffy. It's just not a very attractive camera. If they bring out say a $1699 A6700... wouldn't people rather spend the $1999 for an A7III? Just makes more sense. I can only imagine continuing their APS-C line-up making sense bringing a successor not to the A6500 but the A5100. A sub-$1000 entry level with a couple of new compact lenses dedicated to APS-C. Which they surely will not do.
