This is a very powerful impressive camera. However the motion cadence of my A7s annoys me and the video is good enough for me at the moment. So no buy, I still want a MKiii with Ml or a BMMCC for the look I want.

I am still an avid 1DC user mainly because it hits my checklist of needs and I love the image science. The sad truth is Canon will continue to dance around in the market between DSLR and 'Video Cameras' never truly creating a reliable roadmap for the user. Canon is the kid in school with all the potential but never applies himself fully.

What are the frame rates in Anamorphic Mode?

well that explains the Aus price too. As the 5div is about $5100 over here (D850 $5300).  But Nikon has traditionally priced its cameras very close to the US equivalent and sometimes better.   So we have the weird situation where the D850 is 60% more expensive than the D810.  What they may not have taken into account is this now makes the A7rmk2 more attractive @$3700.  It makes this scint photographer determined to wait for the next crop of sony cameras, and maybe the nikon mirrorless offering.  The D800 still produces amazing stills, and I dont need most of the D850's bells and whistles (very nice so some of them are).

Seriously though, these past few months have been great for the indie filmmaker. Gotta love competition!!!

That's good to hear. Definitely keeping an open mind. I've got a big four month job coming up that will finish in the fall, leaving me flush with cash for a new camera this fall.
PS -- my very first camera, when I was a teenager, was a Panasonic SVHS camcorder.

I was pretty excited that the C200 was offering compressed RAW, 15 stops of DR, and solid color science. buuuut there are a lot of compelling specs in the EVA -- 240fps in 2K, even in short bursts, would be fun to have. If they can truly attain Varicam color and 14+ stops of DR, i might be tempted. But I worry that 400mbps won't be enough. That's half what 10 bit ProRes 422 HQ would be at DCI 4K. 
Anyone know the crop factor for the Varicam line? I know, I know, screw crop factor. I only ask because I want to calculate the widest taking lens I can use with my anamorphic set. Canon Super35 is 1.6x. Not sure about Panny. 1.5x maybe?

Idk, if I were a GH5 owner I think I'd be pretty damn happy right now... by the end of August's FW update, for more than half the price, you're getting the same 400mbps 10bit with 5-axis IBIS. 

tbf, i needed it for aurora timelapses and filming... But since then, i've barely used it. It's fundamentally flawed, the white balance is a mess.

1 year after selling my 5dIII for a Sony a7s, I am now selling my Sony a7s to get a 5Diii.... The circle of camera life continues.

Hmm...Never underestimate Canons and Nikons power in journalism or wedding market. Their brands as still cameras are very strong and they have very good and reliable devices. Sony is very innovative but though it has to learn built quality & usability from its competitors. Innovation and technical excellence are only two aspects in a very complex and competitive market hardly damaged by the "smartphone revolution"...Just my 2 cents...
