  1. This is so badass. Very creative and cool looking Hans.
  2. Last off topic post on this thread, but you should submit a pic to @dog_rates, my favorite twitter account. They have over a million followers. That picture of her looking over the fence for her best friend might not be your best pic, but the story that goes along with it is just too cute.
  3. I just checked your instagram for the first time in ages, was curious to see how Gunpowder the Dog was doing, and this photograph of ducks is incredible.
  4. Smart move to do some tests and then decide. You sound pretty happy with what you've got. A lot of Canon people seem to get super disappointed when moving to another system. But, if you end up preferring the GH5, get what you can out of the Canon. Not like you won't be able to buy another one down the road, probably for much less.
  5. Pentax released that 77mm prime for portraits back in the film days and a lot of people love that lens. The Fuji equates to 76mm. Still think a 56mm f2 would have made more sense. He said someone at Fuji told him one of the reasons they went with 50mm is for all the people who grew up in the APSC era and had a nifty fifty as their first prime. They like and are comfortable with the focal length. That 90mm is really something else. Incredible lens from what I've seen. Was just watching a comparison of it and the 56mm the other day.
  6. I'd like to see the new hybrid autofocus but I doubt it will have it. Also figure it'll have less robust weather sealing/build and some of the photography features will be less impressive. So what will it gain from the EM1ii? I'm guessing it will have the same stabilization system and sensor. Maybe some video features that the EM1ii doesn't have. All for half the price of an EM1ii. Keep in mind the first EM5 was a ton of camera for the money and made a big splash when it was released. I don't think the EM5ii has had anywhere near the same impact so maybe they'll refresh it sooner. Also, John Brawley once said that Olympus viewed the EM5 cameras as being the more videocentric cameras while the EM1 was more geared towards photographers and at present the EM1ii outclasses the EM5ii in terms of video. Things might've changed, but if it's still the case that EM5 is more for videographers, I'm hoping the EM5iii will have better video specs. Not sure what they would be though. It looks like Olympus threw everything they had into the EM1ii. One thing with Olympus, they likely will improve both cameras through firmware.
  7. Curious how close to an EM1ii the EM5iii will be. There was a three year wait between the EM5 and EM5ii but both were announced in early February. So maybe they'll announce the EM5iii in a few weeks.
  8. Here's a podcast interview with the cinematographer for The Witch: http://gocreativeshow.com/the-cinematography-of-the-witch-with-jarin-blaschke-gcs083/
  9. ELO with Hall and Oates as the opening act
  10. This was a good interview with him that covers a lot of his background

    I need A7s3 !!

Oooooooops. Guess I forgot about those. Knew I should have checked your Youtube channel before posting that.

    I need A7s3 !!

You're not a fan of Sony are you Mattias? Not putting you on the spot or picking a fight. I could be wrong. But I remember you were a fan of the BPCC, the NX1, Fuji, Red, Leica, that Canon camcorder that a lot of people hated, and some Panasonic. Off the top of my head I can't recall you being very fond of any Sony cameras. Maybe some of their phones. I like your thinking. That would be an awesome feature. Seems like there should be a A7iii before too long and then an A7riii followed by an A7siii. I wonder if they'll keep the A7 in the lineup, like they have with all those RX100 models. Seems like a weird strategy to me.
  13. Off topic, but do you have a preference for vintage Canon or Nikon glass?
  14. Thanks. I'd only heard great things about the Sigma so that is disappointing. I can't remember your criteria. You want a fast smallish lens with stabilization? I guess the only choice is the 35mm and 50mm. Out of those two I'd pick the 35mm. But I'd prefer the Sony 28mm f2, because I find that a more useful focal length on APSC, but it doesn't have stabilization. Do you know if she has a focal length that tends to feel right to her?
  15. Oh, I see what threw you off. Yes, I was just making a general comment about the system, nothing to do with the press release. I love Fuji but those are the three things I wish were different. Really only two of them are a big deal to me- the 27mm and the ibis. Other than those two things I think it's an excellent system. And again, I apologize for coming across as rude/unclear in my initial response.
  16. It takes beautiful pictures. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/984430-REG/fujifilm_16389123_fujinon_xf_27mm_f_2_8.html/?c3api=3679%2Cbing%2C2764376398%2C1105202454813 And I wish they had in body for all these wonderful primes.
  17. I'll ignore your insulting tone and clarify. 1. 40-43mm is my favorite focal length. 35 is too wide and 50 is too long. 42 is just right imo. So I wish the 27mm was faster. F2.8 for a prime on apsc, especially one that would be my favorite lens, is too slow imo. 2. I don't like 50mm for portraits (with apsc). I'd prefer the new f2 was 55mm or 56mm like the more expensive lens. 3. I wish they had stabilization as good as Olympus. For obvious reasons. Not sure why you felt any of this needed clarification but there you go. And I do apologize if that response was unnecessarily combative. The spam comment rubbed me the wrong way and I was a bit more feisty than I probably should have been.
  18. I wish the 27mm was f1.8 or f2 instead of f2.8, the new 50mm was more like 55mm as a cheaper alternative to the 56mm, and their cameras had stabilization as good as Olympus. Still, I think they're terrific cameras with a fantastic lens lineup.
  19. If just one lens with the Sony I'd go with the Sigma DN 30mm f1.4. If going with micro four thirds I'd go with the Panasonic 20mm f1.7.
  20. Even though it's an older camera, I've seen some beautiful footage shot with the t3i. To the OP, you might want to consider posting this in the anamorphic forum. Though there is some crossover with this board and you might get a helpful answer here, I think your chances of a constructive answer would be better on that board. http://www.eoshd.com/comments/forum/5-anamorphic/
  21. Holy shit, the flares in that second to last pic. Wow.
  22. Damn, that is looking good. Is that snow on the ground in the last picture?
