i think the pre36 and 36 are equal in this matter, but I don't have mine around... The rotation is veeery close to 360 degrees. And the throw is close to 1cm, i'd say.

not precise values, but can help if you want some rough info immediately. :P

I am looking for information on the lens throw in mm and rotation in degrees of the focus as it goes from far to near.

If you have this information for the 36 and 54 series than please drop it here

    Much obliged :)

It is a good low cost choice for a beginner in the scope land.

Don't forget you can unscrew the small lens hood to reveal a 52mm filter thread - useful if you need to use filters or dioptres. Enjoy !

Today Metabones release two new Speed Boosters for Blackmagic shooters.

I've been using some demo samples for this special review and I'm absolutely stunned.

Metabones and Caldwell Optics have given us a Zeiss / Kubrick / NASA special! These adapters are completely new and purpose designed to fit only the Blackmagic cameras. Offering super bright apertures as fast as F0.74 and finally some great wide angle possibilities, I put both new adapters through their paces...

So, as mentioned a few weeks back, I've just completed the first episode of a webseries shot with anamorphic lenses and MagicLantern raw. For this one, we used a LOMO Foton-A, and there's only ONE Iscorama shot. Episode 2 was almost entirely Isco, except for the very beginning. As soon as it's ready, it'll show up here too.

This started out as a favour for a friend & while on the day it was a complete nightmare, the results weren't as bad as i thought. This was almost entirely shot handheld (1 tripod wide shot), due to there not being enough room to swing a cat or should that be mouse!!? Anyways, stage was like a tiny bouncy castle & space was really tight - so no rig either!

For the majority of shots I used the Helios 44-2+Iscorama 54+Voigtlander Focar A&B (+1/+2 diopters).
There are a few shots were i used the Helios 40-2 & the shit wide shot was with the Mir-1b.

This will be one of the last things I'll shoot on the 60D with H264, as i now have the Pocket in my hands...

    Hey Francisco,

Tito is right there is no image aspect ratio squeeze, but you can assign an editor to LR. So if you assign PS then edit will take you into PS where you can run a macro then when you shut PS down it takes you back to LR. Of course it doesnt have to be PS it can be any image editor.

My advice is not to sacrifice the art for ergonomics. Nothing touches Cinemascope like real Cinemascope.

JohnBarlow reacted to Sebastien Farges in PART II : my new pocket sharp anamorphic set
    Hi my anamorphic friends !
Here are some new stuff taken with my favorite light and sharp anamorphic combo. Tell me what you think ! Thanks for watching !

    https://vimeo.com/78594325

This movie has been shoot a week-end mid october in Bordeaux, and first week-end of november in the countryside.
I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. This lens is very sharp, even at it's fastest aperture (f1.6) and this wide aperture is still usable with the anamorphic on it ! Some of the shot of the movie had been taken at f1.6.

    The Filick'r album :
    flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157636631334626/

It was not possible to screw directly the anamorphic lens on the Qioptiq prime lens because the front barrel is turning when you focusing. So I ordered a special machined flat step up ring to attach the two lens. I've unscrewed the ring on the Qioptiq that is maintening the glass, and replace with the special machined flat ring. Then I screwed on it the original small Berthiot clamp that can align the anamorphic lens. Then I put the baby Berthiot hypergonar in it. The combination suits perfectly !
The weight of this anamorphic combo is quite light. The Hypergonar weight is 57 grams, the clamp maybe 20 grams, the Qioptiq is 210 gram, then the two filters (diopter + variable ND) and step up rings maybe 150 grams. So the total is around only 400 grams !
And finally using the OM-D with it's 5 axis stabilization system with an anamorphic combo is very useful !

Basically, anyone who says dual focus lenses are a pain just haven't spent enough time learning/practicing.
Its all about being able to judge distances & when you know how far 2m is, for example, you'll get quicker at hitting focus.
Once you get good its like second nature & it takes no time at all to focus both lenses perfectly in unison.
Also, its very hard to focus pull & operate a camera at the same time, so the reasoning behind getting an Iscorama, if you don't have a 2 man crew, is a defunct one - so if you are a lone shooter an iscorama might save you a little bit of time focusing but not that much.

Kowa for B&H or a Sankor 16D - they both have large rear elements, will be perfect for a 5D3, Kowa is more expensive & the Sankor has blue flares.

I don't agree with u Paulio. I think Double focus just need some practice even if I've never used it on set.
I own a 5D MarkII with a Kowa for Bell & Howell (wich I highly recommand like John Barlow) and here is my last video, it's not Raw but H264.
On this vid, I had only a short time (like 2 hours) and you'll see by yourself that double focus is possible...
