This edit isn't to focus on flaws, raw ability, image quality/detail, highlights or shadows.  Just a simple Glidecam test along with a few CobraCrane shots.  It's no MoVI but i'll settle for it being that it's about $14k cheaper.

    @axel
My suggestion is to create a preset for only the clips that were shot at the same time.  If you shot 10 clips within 15 minutes the lighting will not have changed that much to cause a difference.  don't use the same preset for clips shot 6 hours earlier, the day before and the day of.

this camera is the biggest joke since the "expected release date" of the BMCC.

fake 4k (8 bit on top of it), no raw,  no xlr, soft as cotton, and basically $600 for 20 minutes of footage.
This camera is for people that wanna say "hey, look at me, I own the newest overpriced canon camera"
I wouldn't even rent this camera to get a true opinion....why you ask? because I would rent a c500 and know
I'm getting everything I need from a camera.

GravitateMediaGroup got a reaction from Sean Cunningham in Film Convert
I don't care what anybody says, but I have used several "make your footage look like film" plugs and this is hands down the best.  You can not emulate the grain of film convert with any NLE built in "grain" effect, and if you have, please share.

Is this a plugin that you should use on EVERY single project? No.  If anybody thinks this software is bogus, then all company's (apple, avid, sony, adobe, canon, panasonic, RED, BMD,and so on) should stop progressing and leave EVERYTHING exactly how it is because everything is as perfect as it can possibly be.  How much sense would that make?  Give the company credit for giving people another option to enhance a project. They provide tons of presets, but you're not forced to use them.   The customer support with the people at film convert is pretty awesome, if the price of film convert it what bothers you, shoot them an e-mail or LIKE them on facebook and tell them you are interested but like most starving artist working on a budget and I would almost guarantee they will help you the best they can.  I have made suggestions to blackmagic before on some things that would be nice and convenient and they basically shut me down, I make the same suggestions to the people at film convert they welcomed my suggestions and are open to new ideas to improve their products.

Film Convert is probably in my top 5 favorite software purchases and I am glad that my purchase will help to better the software and allow them to keep moving forward.  I could go on and on about film convert but the fact is, you either like it or not, like Germay said, grade your project how you want to give it a "special taste" as axel calls it, and then throw film convert on it as a final mastering touch, if that look fits the project.  I'm a big fan of magic bullet looks, but I never use their presets, I'll create the look I want using the tools they provide.

you might as well get used to film fizzling out. it's too expensive and a much more complicated process of editing and audio.

GravitateMediaGroup got a reaction from Axel in Lets Discuss, where the GH3 Falls Short
A lot of assumptions being made about a camera that people have only seen preproduction footage from.

The moire issue is still unknown why some videos have it, why some don't, maybe 12-35, maybe early firmware?
Like i've always said, I'm not going to go out looking to shoot things in my videos that will show moire.

@Axel, the thing is...without a doubt, the GH3 is a better camera than the GH2, if a person decides not to upgrade, then they will be using the lesser of the two cameras, if that's all a persons budget will allow, then so be it, make the best of what you got, even if you are using a GH1.
Canon is usually the choice camera when it comes to photos, but I don't think we are concerned with photo quality when it comes to any GH, the real question is, Can the GH3 be hacked? and if so what will it unleash. MFT is hardly a dead end and I don't see it going anywhere except up.

And yeah, I love the GH2 and the GH3, they are amazing cameras for the price and wide variety of lenses. If I plan on just walking out the door and just messing around it's what I'm going to grab. If I have a professional gig I'm going to use my BMCC (when it ever arrives) or I am going to rent a camera. People seem picky or spoiled by technology and must have forgotten what consumer cameras were limited to 5-10 years ago. Do people really go out looking for objects that will cause moire in their footage? If so, they need to stop focusing on flaws, and focus on creativity.

Side note: I also hate that 5dMK3 is not true 1080p. I think canon should put BMCC quality into 5dmk3 body + great low light with FF sensor so I could get the perfect product (price wise: I'd eat current price of the 5dmk3. Although, if it was for 10$ then that would be awesome ;)).
Yeah, it's a shame canon hasn't improved resolution since 5dmk2 and I absolutely hate it. I need FF for wide angles (dark, club shots, ppl dancing, not much space - any ideas ?) (I'm a newbie and was waiting for 5dmk3 and then they didn't deliver :((.
I don't whine on a public forum, though, cause it's a waste of everyones time.

You are taking life wayyyy to serious.
How do you know that I don't already have money and the fact that I am content doing something I love to do more so than try and pinch every penny I can get out of somebody. Did you skip over the part where I mentioned "independent"? If I was hired by a company to do their video/editing task, they would be in charge of the greedy side of things. I can make my own price and my own hours, and by choice, I try to undercut the competition. I may get paid less, but more gigs, so compound that mr. Economics. You are trying to put me in the same category as a major corporation that is selling products by the millions, and is by far the dumbest post you have made yet. Does it really bother you THAT much that you can't control people's freedom of speech over the Internet? Do you not have anything better to do than pretend to sound smart and troll forums all day?

Its not whining, just expressing disappointment!
Most people are working on a tight budget & want the best bang for their buck, which is understandable.

Having gone through the transition from Film, to SD digital & then HD, and having worked for small production companies to a massive giant like the BBC - there are a few things that became v.clear.

These companies don't go out & buy the next new thing - they take the side of caution. In fact in most cases they hire out the equipment or the cameraman with the equipment. When TV went from SD to HD, none of the cameramen who were hired for the BBC went out & bought a new HD camera. The reason was that they needed to test stuff out first before investing (of course, their investment was for £30k & upwards). Again they were looking for the best bank for their buck - they moaned & moaned & moaned. Some of them took a year to decide which camera to buy & took the hit in camera rentals first.

With DSLRs, a fluke revolution seemed in the offing for low budget filmmakers. It was a fluke & all these companies make high end cameras, so of course they want you to buy them.
People have been banging on about the Black Magic & it looks great, but you know v.3 or v.4 will be the killer & not v.1!
So why keep jumping ship for the next best thing? Its a false economy, unless you have cash burning a hole in your pocket & if you do, rent & test out your options (a few £100 vs. a few £1000).

When i went from Film to SD, i couldn't believe the moire & aliasing - it really bugged me. You learn how to avoid it & if you really can't, no audience really cares or notices.

The best advice (when i was starting out) i ever got from professionals was invest in good glass, as that will serve you for life!

I shoot with a 60D & love it! Best of both worlds for the price - photos & video. Its also got the best hack in Magic Lantern, which will only get better & better.
Soon i want to use a better camera, but i'm not buying one thats for sure, i'll rent one.

I love the whining or should that be practical criticism! Its natural, healthy & lots of fun!
It also shows there's a lot of passion out there from the low budget community & a need for more affordable/better cameras.

Is this your attempt at "i'm going to post something that makes me seem intelligent" post?

you made this post to the masses not taking into consideration that not everybody lives with the same mind state you are posting on.

I for one don't always "get the most I can" for my work, I will work with a clients budget.

but if you want to be specific about a product that is worth "whining about" we can mention the C300.
There are cameras that out preform it and half the cost, with more features.
Canon is about like apple, they know that when they put their name on a product, the people that can afford it
will buy it (fanboys) and the people with a little bit of common sense will do the research and invest in a product
that offers more bang for your buck (BMCC). I'm not at all comparing the C300 and the BMCC, just saying that
it's all about the name on the product. The c300 may be the best camera in the world for ones specific needs, but the
price tag canon stamped on it is absurd. I have yet to run across anybody that has found the price of the C300 to be reasonable.
Basically Canon created a product that will mainly be a "rented" product.

Also, I'm not sure where you are from, but where I live (USA) we have something called "freedom of speech" and I guess you could say that would give one "freedom to whine"

If you really want to get technical, you are whining about whiners.
