  2. Here is a FF sample (I'd dare to say, just kiddin'... you've got a lemon, Andrew!):
  3. Andrew, I will be straight with you: I found your review perhaps passionate, but not exactly honest... I'm sorry. Superficial as well. It seems you have any beef against them. Sorry to be sincere here. I can even be wrong but nah, I don't know... You know I've defended you out there, so I guess my voice can be accepted as unbiased about you :-)
  4. Last but not least, I've never shared the enthusiasm of these forums on that ugly pink mode (I concur Ed, I am sorry guys) from the technology leader of these greedy lovely times we live on, based on new releases each 6 months when there's a new processor or sensor around the corner. Good-old-times were much more calm waters as matter of fact, but they are gone now :-)
  5. Lightweight is a gift indeed... ; ) Horses for courses. Film and digital have no much in common to speak frankly. As far as technology concerns. Other than that, both are able to produce art... : D Age doesn't matter and really, a camera doesn't lose ability because there's a new cousin nearby. But, if the whole world is changing to laptops, there's no much sense to deny we are stubborn enough convincing ourselves that old typewriter of good old days is better to match our actual needs ; )
  6. Davide, grazie :-) If possible to check aliasing/moiré from zero to lowest shapness settings, it would also be rather helpful indeed. Just for the sake trying to understand how avoid the issues when happen even if with little impact on the outcome. E :-)
  7. Ed, and if you'd still shoot with some 5-7 years old camera? Imagine, no GH4, no NX1, no a7S, you see what I mean. So? To each his/her own. Ursa Mini will never reach portability, lowlight performance, hybrid concept and large format prints as same as this new camera. So, why to compare apples to oranges? Probably to your needs. But let's put it simple. Joe doesn't have 4K acquisition yet, you does, let's figure it. So? It is a whole different world between a country boy and a single mother or an american footbal player and who likes soccer instead. You got my point :-)
  8. Dan Chung has reported heating issues... What are your findings? If none to date, can you test it under distinct conditions and duration, please? Thanks :-)
  9. In that clip with the horse, autofocus seems to trace the subject... Does 240fps mode offer it? Or only fixed focus?
  10. Actually, I've also heard/read the same as coming from a Sony rep... No idea if it is accurate but someone said so.
  11. But, if he will want to add an anamorphic adapter such as SLR Magic... Bye-bye 5K 2.35 aspect ratio against 16:9 UHD...
  12. Can you test aliasing and moiré too? With different sharpness settings from zero to lowest? Comparing with a7S on topic can also be interesting... Thanks for your worthy contribution to those of us who have pre-ordered and are waiting for competent early adopters' reviews. E :-)

  14. LOL Simple but the best advice in two words! Other than Mosaic offer for those cameras they cover, here's another route for those cameras they don't cover with their offer: http://www.caprockdev.com/antimoire.htm Here is (Uwe is not with us anymore but he was among the few number of helpful contributors who posted some tests still available on Vimeo) : https://vimeo.com/search?q=caprock+filter E :-)

  16. I've opened a new thread here to discuss these issues: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/9067-aliasingmoiré-on-a7rii/ Having pre-ordered, this is one of my main concerns to pair RS. I hope you as early reviewer can pay a special attention on topics. I guess we can take his word on the subject matter. I agree with Ebrahim, this can be a deal breaker. In any case, I think Caprock can be the last 2% we need to have a clean outcome from there.
  17. Davide Roveri, I guess you might risk to be the first one worldwide to show up the first decent review for real. Hands on it! To those who have pre-ordered, you can easily figure how important your findings will be... Thanks, Emanuel :-) PS: Posted on dvxuser: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?337587-A7R-mk-II-Announced-42-4MP-5-axis-Stabilization-Internal-4k-3-200&p=1986564572&viewfull=1#post1986564572 http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?337586-Re-Sony-A7RII-FIRST-video-sample!!!&p=1986564573&viewfull=1#post1986564573
