1st shooting session last night. What a memorable show! The Waterboys version 2024 is a terrific must. Their performance on stage is one of the best gigs I've ever seen in my life... To hear this Scottish-Irish band playing hits such as (let's only mention a couple!) 'AND A BANG ON THE EAR' or 'THE PAN WITHIN' live is simply thrilling... literally. One of the best bands ever. Mike Scott is a star of the history of folk rock in the body of a man. The older the best, as I had opportunity to personally let him know he is like Port wine, today : ) BTW I have a chance to offer to this community... To those who will be interested to locally shoot their concerts, we can launch a footage archive of their performances in the coming years. PM me as you wish on this purpose of mine launched here now. I think these boards should be more mutual cooperation of this gang's gigs than has rarely been TBH :- ) And I will tell you the only beef against the usual mirrorless toys ; ) Bulky and weight. Light glass without cumbersome adapters is a bless... ; ) Osmo Pocket : D saved us a lot of times! Incredible tool! All the rest has no challenge. Monitor, menus and BRAW have no competitor and are what a cinema camera should be.

Mixed feeling... Nostalgic one with the joy of such an achievement those guys did it by then. Impossible to forget the adventure and those behind that journey :- )

That's versus 10-bit FX3 & 16-bit Komodo. OP's note now: To me, it's enough. No need for anything else. Really. That's a hell of a capture device! The best bang for the buck in June 2024 with no single doubt. 5x batteries charging as of now BTW...

Did you ask to compare cameras and their outcome? ; ) Lumix S5iix vs BMCC6k RED V-Raptor vs BMCC6K FF 10Bit Slog3 | 12Bit Braw | 16Bit RED

PS: Juicy texture... LOL ; ) Easy to fall in love : ) But one thing is for sure: light. With an exception though. The way is handled. And colour rendition. Sensor, colour science and codec are part of same pudding ;- )

Even without, this camera has something, go figure with a certain glass setup... Sexy to only use a single word ; ) A perfect match just for the handy subject!
-
Apples to oranges. Impossible to compare a pretty face with another one... Even when the angle is not the same! Let alone when she is prettier to each test published ; ) LOL
-
Terrific tool... PDAF + IBIS at this level put it at a special place for under $2000 indeed ;- )
-
LOL Thanks for your kind support and good time for celebrating then, either ways you'll be fine ; ) I am already used for a weakness but of my own and love about England... Without mention LVT, Dreyer and Kierkegaard are the remaining ones to always have to share some care for Denmark too! : ) Love Diogo Jota... and that CR7's offside was actually in the opposite of the leftover but we've suffered a lot just until the end. We shall have fun for next month I hope! :- )

Portugal won today a difficult match against the Czech Republic, now known as Czechia in our UEFA Euro 2024 debut. Former European Champion in the previous tournament before the actual champions Italy, we dream with the 'caneco' (slang for cup in Portuguese ; ) Match after match, we have to not be a loser 7 times in a row... That's the secret formula! LOL : ) What about your expectations? Who's from here is following the game?

That one arrived last week from UK, still waiting for the adapters to couple the customary manual glass... which should arrive by tomorrow or Thursday just in time for The Waterboys concert this Friday. Those 4x G7 units are used for multiple-camera setup needs, here are some grabs extracted from one of those 4K 25p H.264 codec (where high resolution shows some advantages of its own) videos I cannot publish for music copyright not under my umbrella but just for a couple of ETTL samples here now: The artist is a famous Portuguese Grammy winner who represented the country with an honourable 7th place in Eurovision 1980 BTW with a few universal words in German/English/Italian/French mixed in the lyrics...

LOL 100% agreed... Loved everything there. Roll-off, grain, colour rendering, skin tones included... my fav specific sensor rendition, so I'd place it in the top with the other advantages you've already pointed out:
-
I left the 5DII for the GH1 as my fav then... GH2 became a legend for Coppola and the hack. If GH5S is the one I'd choose... No doubts GH7 is the one to mark the end of an era of contrast-based autofocus and finally, the introduction of DPAF... - EAG

LOL Indeed : ) Following that hence this poll now... it's not a chrystal clear process but details there ; )
-
@PannySVHS as we all know it's the man behind, not the pen who makes the poetry and you're one of those, kudos buddy! : ) With 4x units G7 still is today one of my fav cams ever...
-
Of course, why not? ; ) Without mention we are both and everyone able to post here as Andrew's guests : ) This is a thread about how influential FF is now, the option B is every alternative elsewhere ;- )

Mirrorless form factor brought lighter devices... With the modern sensor tecnologies, grain/noise is under control, high resolution target is now at least on 6K video with no overheating... And price range starts today under $2000 for S5II/S5IIX at the active cooling side... : D See Blackmagic customers in the bargain on their turn, even them can also become FF users nowadays... Long story short? The fastest lenses.
-
As I've been telling you before, Marty, you have a particular sensibility/talent for handling colour, without mention framing... i.e., a very unique atmosphere of your own ; ) - EAG

When the user wrote that the focal reducer sucks, I guess it's because of the experience to have to couple more glass to the camera/lens setup... The point is that the now infamous : D 'medium format look' is often referred for the circle of confusion, which is something crucial going along optics, the border between what it is in focus and its visual impact (where all the aforementioned process of perception arises) with the bokeh (comes from the word boke, blur in Japanese) -- and let alone all the discussion about the quality of the bokeh itself, as much as colour rendition, etc.. Let's take this DoF tool in hands for the introduction of a 0.7x reducing factor: For some reason to deal with the real size of the 645D sensor, there's a negligeable difference with the film counterpart but a substantial distinction as far as the CoC concerns compared with FF. The larger it is the smoother the look will end. - EAG

For sure : ) Hence hybrid tools should be seen for video as primary scope of their natural target and not stills as usually is taken. A professional is someone than runs a craft for living whatever segment of business is.

Technical sense is different than saying from a technician sense or perspective... ;- )

Of course. But, when they want they give it to us, R5C was the answer to the R5 overheating problems. What comes first? IBIS or solving the issue? Still any doubts? Why not to buy one of these then? And when they don't put fans or don't care for thermal issues with an effective active cooling design, what can we expect? Yet, I am done with still photography coming first rather than motion picture for hybrid pipe dream. When this actually should mean quite the opposite. And if you/we're unable to work with stills without having control on motion at first grade in 2024, you/we're in the wrong business in all likelihood : ) Moreover, I am done with still photographers (and I am not completely outside of this bloody group when also shoot stills but don't sign the subscription) claiming or intending they come first than the rest of the crowd, like photography arrived first than cinematography... Phew. So what? Since Jim & Jannard launched the Digital Still and Motion Camera concept, the times have changed. Yes, tiptop audio is mandatory in a mirrorless camera and still photographers can go to the hell with their mantra! I'm sorry for my hard words but this has been one of the main problems of this segment of the camera industry. Many losers who are unable to handle moving image dictating how or/and where the manufacturers have to put their eggs. Something has changed the world. High-end is not the same throughout this last quarter of century, when from one hundred of users only 15 years ago to have access to a system born in the 6-digit realm, we have now millions of users receiving their last version of Resolve or/and prone to be upgraded and coupled to their affordable one or two grand camera. - EAG

I'd say this one in the U.S. 😆 and BMCC6K-FF are those the bets of today : ) Don't invite me for higher than that as far as price range concerns especially when overheating issues are far to be solved... : P Those are not professional capture devices, they are a pain in the ass, not a reliable camera for professional use. The use of lower resolution recording modes serves too little, these don't help either or why someone is buying them, after all?! : X
