  1. Yeah, you've heard well but looks like people have no shown a single bit of love (yup, at least throughout this forum here) about their effort to satisfy all of our needs with light, sharp (even 8K, folks! : D) and really effective unique launch with consistent colour rendering, focus, let alone an inexpensive price range ; ) https://www.samyanglens.com/en/product/v-af.php You can find a few interesting tests and alike on YT as usual ; ) but it's here among us where the sharing of your thoughts are particularly welcome :- )
  2. Looks like irresistible, light and is not a girl... ; ) review I wonder if with this really non-expensive 230g bargain or its cine counterpart 50g heavier and those crazy sensor zooms of the modern cameras won't have all covered in a way or another with only two lenses and eventually bodies (a Nikon and a Sony? : D) ... Without mention the customization option.
  3. Lesson learnt. Out of jokes, seems promising anyway. Africa is much more friendly than that north hemisphere, anyway ; ) Wondering on 4K 100/120fps yet though, something will push me to buy one of them at least... very likely. And this:
  4. And finance too, they will earn money for the humankind...
  5. Love your posts, man, as everyone here by the way ; ) I remind 3 decades ago when I was at their side... Never returned back so far, reason why I don't understand why people don't support brands such as Blackmagic as for instance, when they have fulfilled the promise RED made : ) Or brands like Nikon with no video high-end to protect :- )
  6. Interesting sum up in video on topic, nothing we hadn't posted throughout this thread earlier:
  7. You do it right, hence here we are to say to them those lines above, I believe. This kind of devices are anything but a pain in the ass just for the sake of motion pictures they simply don't care as you say. So why to be surprised when people complain and show some love where they can't or don't give a shit for? : D
  8. Oh Gosh, Glenn, you sound like a fanboy now! Well, I am used to praise Canon too but ; ) Nothing wrong on that, just when people are going down the hill, we cannot follow the trend only because it is convenient. They don't give a damn for anything other than taking advantage of an opportunity to take profit. No ethics nor aesthetics there but they claim to push the craft or art forward. How come? Morals count. Science too. What makes sense should. Like nature. Going against a natural law is something I can never buy. As much as math, we don't discuss or reinvent it, we just adequate ourselves to. No democracy down there. :- )
  9. The wheel has already been invented so it's useless to write "ain't necessarily mean" when "don't necessarily mean" is the one to stand corrected ; ) The same way to always act accordingly the 'people and their needs' can become a wicked game as much as History is made by historians as for instance :- )
  10. People's needs ain't necessarily mean anything other than their educated guess or lack of it. This is the point when we don't understand our responsibility as players. From a strictly limited POV, personal stuff for sure but subjective angle is not something fiercely bad, so science even less mainly when made by or coming from an educated standpoint. It's all about that IMO ; ) long version :- )
  11. That's for sure ; ) there are dummies for everything but once vertical use is something natural on using such devices, people tend to forget the natural position of their own eyes when not the head follows : D
  12. I thought for vertical video we already have dummies with a smartphone in their hands and me trying to guess what they didn't frame from their videos.
  13. That can be interesting to check when 4K 120fps will arrive, my main interest on this one :- )
  14. Looks like people are prone to feel themselves attracted for the lowest the better, sorta eschatological. That vertical mania when we have eyes horizontally positioned is the proof of this.
  15. You're pretty on the spot on everything else but ; ) this guy here says non-native glass is surprising him, even better results than native ones as far as AF performance concerns, go figure! Seems FTZ-II adapter is a winner here. For stabilization though, the story can be another one anyway, I guess :- )

    Leica Q3

Just sayin' no cooling hurts more...
  17. In fact : D In two pieces: price and form factor. Market segment and weight are the unquestionable keys there. - EAG :- )
  18. What a heaven of a post towards a real brand and format agnostic truly professional tool without the customary BS talk to fall on deaf ears of a community for decades I see, man! @Django&@FHDcrew your likes to say 'thanks' are too short, I'm afraid, here's then more on topic ; ) And who will miss it, fits both on this couple of no-clue about: a) what a brand like Nikon means up to 2023 still without video high-end to protect so far; b) we've finally arrived in 2023 whereas the introduction of a hybrid camera series pops up to make more sense than two separate worlds... Including to those junkies of still photography thinking the other half as the dark side, not yet missing in action for sure but maybe closer, i.e., definitely less far away than ever before : ) In conclusion, hence what this Nikon's entry means to me and many others I guess, not too distracted with my dick is bigger than yours mantra. :- ) - EAG
  19. Indeed : ) Loved that part you're prone to change your mind "another five or six times", I guess I've already made such part so far in this portion of the road yet! LOL : D Looks promising anyway. The 2nd part of the other tests above-posted is just going online here: I'd still look for more tests exploring all the possible combinations though. Z8 is a completely different beast than the older sister IMO from its intrinsic modular form factor. Apples to oranges :- )
  20. I've actually been wondering on how much we can workaround and circumvent the overheating hassle with something like this: https://www.zitay.net/ZITAY-CS-305-CFexpress-Type-B-to-SSD-Convertor-Card-Reader-Adapter-XQD-CFE-CFX-Replacer-Substitute-Nikon-Z6-Z7-D5-D6-D850-D500-PANASONIC-DC-S1-S1R-Canon-EOS-1DX-MarkIII-R5-C500-MarkII-p779221.html Let alone set it with a more convenient temperature cutout from (auto) standard to high: source
  21. LOL Well, looks like I had to read it twice to fully understand it was not me writing that! : ) And yet, still believing you somehow incorporated inside my being and decided to sign the post anyway : D I add to that 24-200mm all-around zoom lens those also Nikkor (why else they would launch their new branded devices then?) primes 20mm f/1.8 and 105mm macro f/2.8 without compulsively resisting to that light 40mm f/2 bargain, once I'm already doing my best for now with those Viltrox primes.
  22. More overheating tests (this time versus Z9).
