  1. Hahaha. Could you say where he says it (in mins). One of the few noticeable limitations in the Panasonic cameras (compared to Canon and Sony) is the disappointedin auto-focus. I was hoping they address some of that with the GH5.
  2. While the GH5 obviously lacks dual pixel and A6300 type PDAF, it's auto focus speed is apparently going to pleasantly surprise users, in terms of how good it is (Matt says 'much better'). I am guessing it will be genuinely good, maybe due to the focussing algorithms as well as the focussing motor. Watch from 20:00.
  3. This is the very edifice of your argument. Ironic, therefore, that, you should attempt to state this about someone's argument. There is DEFINITELY a price reduction. Your ignorance stems from the fact that you do not have any idea of its launch price and its current price, as well as the present standard accessories including in the box (and what was included during launch). Again, your Ignorance has no equal. The Sony X3000 is NOT an 8.2 MP sensor. It is a 12 MP sensor, that does a Crop for Both Video and Photo. Therefore, it DOES have a Full Sensor readout, but Only for Extra Wide photos, in 12 MP size. Video is restricted to 8.2 MP. Also, the Yi 4k and 4k+ have the Sony IMX377 sensor, which is a 12MP 1/2.3" sensor, whereas the X3000 has a 1/2.5" sensor, which does a Further Crop for the 8.2 MP, that it uses for all video formats and most photo formats. Both the cameras have an f2.8 lens, so Sony arguing the X3000 is brighter is curious, especially considering the much smaller size of a smaller sensor, that they use for video. Again, you state facts out of pure ignorance, followed by over-confidence. Read what I wrote above. The X3000 already does a crop to reach the 8.2 MP size, so there is no argument of whether it can do EIS. It cannot. Sony has been doing excellent OIS in their handycam range (and many other cameras) for the longest, so they obciously are great at doing it. About 'nobody doing EIS instead of BOSS ..." is another piece of your ignorant rant. It makes no sense, as is as ignorant as all your other ants above. Sony themselves have been continuously been attempting to improve EIS, because of the possibility of faster and more accurate readout for correction (though not employing or engaging all axis for stabilization), the case in point being the IMX318. Again a show of your unparalleled stupidity. If you read above, it should help you answer your own stupid questions. Again, your stupidity on full display. It's almost like you open you mouth first, and then start processing your thoughts. Again your stupidity rears it ugly head. The Yi 4k+ has the Ambarella H2 processor (SoC) that is equipped to handle 10-bit HDR and 4k @ 120. Maybe you should reduce your public rants and read more instead of attempting to post some random gibberish. You are living proof that the dodo isn't extinct, and that almost all species at some point of time could mate with almost any other species. You are a obviously a dodo and jellyfish hybrid.
  4. The Sony was over-priced by $150-200, and thus the price correction. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with EIS, if it is done right. Also, the Yi 4k+ has the new Amarella processor, which is arguably better than what is inside the X3000. Also, the Sony does OIS, because it CANNOT do EIS (it is a 8.2 MP sensor, and it is already short of real estate for EIS, especially for 4k). The Sony's is a curiously rectangular sensor, far wider than necessary, and thus crops a huge part from the sides for 4k video and 4k phooes, taken @ 8.2MP. The Moto X does superb EIS, and in many cases it appears more effective than the OIS on a lot of smartphones. Also, if the the Sony was so impressive, how come people aren't replacing that for all other cams (especially the prices have fallen drastically since their intro pricing)? https://www.amazon.com/review/R1PDXFX0QYPPX2/ref=cm_cr_dp_title/156-8996512-9177357?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01HAVKTF2&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=172282&store=electronics Also, like ALL Sony Cameras, there is a Chance that it Overheats. As mentioned by one user on Amazon. "4.0 out of 5 starsGreat Camera but Overheats too easy!!!! By Joshua N. on October 18, 2016 Overheating seems to be giant issue. The camera is awesome, the video is sharp. But it overheats way to easy. Sitting on a counter at 70 degrees it will overhead in roughly 40 minutes of continues recording at 4k with the battery door open (Seems like most of the heat is in this area). About 30 minutes with door closed, and about 20 minutes with it inside the waterproof case. This makes it a huge issue if I am trying to record something that is several hours long. (You have to swap memory 64GB cards out at hour twenty, but haven't been able to record that long yet.) The next problem I am going to experience is how am I supposed to use the camera. Except in middle of winter in the mountains the average temps are above 70 degrees. Does this mean I can't use the camera?" I would like to a Face-Off between the Yi 4k+ and the Sony X3000. A real world test. P.S.: The Sony must have some serious issues, since it does a seriously impressive housing as part of the free camera package. It also has very good sound and stabilization. I wonder what is stopping users from picking this over everything else.
  5. Curiously the Ambarella H2 chipset (SOC) seems to be adding dynamic range to the footage. The footage appears to have more (perceptive) dynamic range than the regular Yi 4k Action Cam. I really like the footage. I just saw the mountain snowboarding video, and the colours and dynamic range looked very good. Also the micro blocking seemed much less than that in the GoPro videos.
  6. Yi is what GoPro should have been. Not an over priced action cam. Though the karma and the LCD are great efforts, they were quite late. Also the ProTune acquisition was great, but GoPro should have separated Professionals' requirements and those of enthusiasts. Also, if they could have somehow pushed a 4k Action Cam that did 100 mbps, as a sports cam with the present specifications, and better pricing, they could have maintained their success trajectory. Right now, Yi is the Master of Action Cams. I hope they increase the bitrate, get a great HDR mode, and improve feature via future firmwares. P.S.: Wow !!! The Yi 4k+ does upto 120 mbps. That's insane for a cam this size and at this price point. Saw the Full specs. This thing is seriously amazing.
  7. It will make it much wider than you need. 1.34x and 1.20x. That's wider than you need.
  8. It's great The GH2 has a 1.86 crop factor (in HD), if I am not wrong. So, Panasonic has managed to do a great job, without a MSR Sensor. Kudos.
  9. The multi aspects sensor is not required, especially if it is larger than than he mount. There is a multi aspect layout with no crop in video and, since it's predominantly a video camera, it solves the MAR demand. I think it is reasonable considering than he hay IBIS and Sensor Costs have been dealt with by this.

Take Cinema5D's reviews of Panasonic with a pinch of salt. They have been salting in praises of the Sony Cameras and have a disdain for Panasonic's Cameras. They didn't even review the G7, the GX85 and so many other ILCs, whereas they used the Sony 5100 and so many others. Also they calling the DJI Inspire 2 Arri Alexa rivalling is also ludicrous. Probably it was an easy way to get a few free DJI Inspire 2 Drones.

    "Luminance levels can be selected between 64-1023 / 64-940 / 0-1023 (10-bit)." http://shop.panasonic.com/about-us-latest-news-press-releases/01042017-GH5-DSLM.html?tab=press&start=0&cm_mmc=AffiliateDefault-_-Ecommerce-_-Default-_-Default&src=linkshare&siteID=je6NUbpObpQ-V_.i1BSMAlv2E6UUs5BRug
  12. A lot of recorders record a safety track at a slightly lower volume. The new Tascam DR 10L also records a safety track at at lover volume (I am guessing the difference must be 10 dB or so, not too sure or one could probably chose the difference in recording volumes). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1281085-REG/tascam_dr_10l_mini_portable_recorder.html
  13. I hate the fact that ML doesn't work on Panasonic or Sony Cameras.

I was going to ask the same thing. This is terrible. This is the Live Feed. I was on a Con Call @ 10, but I find no news of what happened. https://www.cnet.com/news/panasonic-press-conference-ces-2017-watch-live-january-4/

Actually if you turn the LCD the wrong way while turning the screen, it may crack. But one has to turn it pretty hard to actually break it.
  16. How about placing a Polariser or regular Multi-coating UV Filter in front of the lens? Does that help, without reducing the effect of the Ultra Contrast Filter by too much.

Reviewed.com were probably not paid enough by Panasonic, or weren't given any free GH5s. Hence they are pretty vocal, without really saying anything of consequence. I read their iPhone 7 review and they gave it like 10 out of 10. They obviously know nothing of photos and videos, and so many other features and functions. Most of their judgment appears to be clouded by colour of the money that bleeds into their pockets. Some Reviewers do everything but genuinely review a product.

    GH5 Prototype

Well a lot of the Rumors seem to be spot on. It had a USB Type-C port, which may be a combination of power and speed, in terms of design. I also realised, that if it is heavier than the GH4, the extra weight might help in havING more IBIS. Lighter bodies usually produce move shake, especially the short and lack of sturdy hands kind of shake It's my guess that the heavier weight will add about 1/2 stop of IBIS to that on the G85. http://digicame-info.com/2017/01/post-876.html

    GH5 Prototype

There appear to be people who have never used a M43 and seem to want to have one with features found on top end full frame or the C-Line of Canon Cameras. It reminds me of the Apple Fan boys trolling on all Android sites. It's plain ludicrous. It completely defeats the purpose of a healthy debate.
  20. Are you supposed to push the settings to -5/-5/-5-5? Also, did you use the Ultra Contrast Filter in these shots? The highlight recovery seems to be in existent curiously in thsee pics with Procolor. The window seems to have some crazy blown highlights.

I agree about the lens choices too. Can't figure Why the M43 makers don't concentrate on Faster Lenses. Like maybe a few f1.8 zooms or f.95 primes Even if it means collaborating with Voigtlander or Sigma. Leica is great but their prices aren't.

Dynamic range could be pushed of it probably does the Log even better. I suddenly suspect that the GH5 may actually be a multi-aspect sensor and thus different from the Olympus EM1 Mark ii. I doubt whether the Dynamic Range will cross 13 stops (the GH4 was 12.8). Also, I wish Panasonic could consider 14 bit RAW or atleast very workable RAW photos. If it does 12 stops in video, it would be be good enough especially if it does 10 bit at pretty high megabits. I wouldn't dismiss the focussing speed on the GH5, though the 6.5 stops of stabilisation (IBIS and OIS) on the EM1 mark ii is absolutely insane.

    GH5 Prototype

If ANY of these rumors are true, the GH5 is going to be one monster of a Mirrorless Camera. For Video alone it will be super camera. If it does good photos too, it would be great. As a video camera it may actual signal Panasonic offering some good and healthy competition to Sony, especially for people willing to soend in the ballpark of $1999 and above. Except low light it might have all other necessary tricks up its sleeve. http://www.43rumors.com/ft4-additional-gh5-specs-180fps-225-focus-points/
  24. Actually I saw and compared all the pics again. I stand corrected about dynamic range in the 3rd pic. But there is a return to the green tint. Not as much as the 1st pic, but it does return a little. Maybe you could use a warm grade with more orange or yellow while reducing for red grade.
