    Fuji X-T4

Unfortunately, that would affect photo quality, substantially. Especially with fast moving subjects and mixed lighting. For video it won't make any difference.
  2. Actually Fuji already has 2 ILC mounts, and they creating a 3rd one, or even if it uses one of the existing ones, for a new sensor size, doesn't make much sense. Plus the XT3 does over 75% of what many full frames do, and many things that many full frames probably don't. With IBIS and slight tweaking of the sensor and/or processing, the XT4 could be a good replacement for a full frame, with a smaller size and better pricing.
  3. *Data is based on 10 Best Picture and Cinematography nominees. And, coincidentally they have Exactly 20 cameras, figured in the total list. Meaning none seem to overlap, and everyone is using a different and yet, single camera model for their entire film?
  4. What brand and specs of tablet? What price is it at, after the discount?
  5. Using a GH5 after a short break (only using smartphones), I realised that ILCs have terrible sound quality, in playback. They're just not loud enough, and the sound is pretty muffy.
  6. The product itself looks eerily similar to a DJI Pocket, which makes me wonder whether it is a Pocket with some fake masking in top, or a genuine chinese yellow label product. I think all Crowdfunding sites need to constantly check the veracity of products in their platforms. There have been some multi-million dollar frauds before, and because of them, genuine campaigns have taken a hit.
  7. Is there any noticeable difference between the dynamic range of the Zoom and Sound Devices 32-bit recorders? I am asking this, because reviews are one thing, but real life use helps way more. And you're into professional sound recording.

    Autel Evo II

Autel returns with 8k photo and video with slightly lower resolution, 6k videosnand a photo and infra cameras in the Autel Evo II Series. And apparently great obstacles avoidance. They have a 1/2inch (with an f1.8 lens) and a 1 inch sensor option (with an f2.8-11 aperture option). The only problem seems to be that the bitrate is 120mbps, at 10-bit video. https://auteldrones.com/pages/evo2
  9. I wonder if the electronic ND filter affects image quality on smaller (/tiny) sensors?
  10. Actually there is a theoretical limit of bit depth with dynamic range. Meaning that a camera with 12 bit will have 12 stops (which isn't true for the GH5 with its 13 approx stops). Maybe if Panasonic pushes it to 14-bit, highlight and shadow recovery could improve.
  11. I realised after @IronFilm pointed it out. Quite an embarassing gaffe.
  12. It's SCARY that Corporates and Not Authors, have been pushing Copyrights to a Century and beyond. Copyright should only exist for a few years (10-20) post the authors death. After that its just corporate terrorism. Also it's scary how corporates and the big artists caught for copyright theft aren't punished more severely.
  13. Thanks for sharing this. It would be interesting to see whether it would allow greater detail or less micro blocking when zoomed it. Sometime ago, there was a theory about 8-bit 4k 4-2-0 having the colour depth of 12-bit 4-2-2 (or something of that type), when downchaled for resolution and then upscaled for bit depth. I tested it on DaVinci with my friend, but I am not sure whether it held up better for grading or made any any difference whatsoever. The link doesn't seem to open or its extremely slow.
  14. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I suddenly realised that I never thought about it ???
  15. Check his channel via this video. This has stme great cinematography and editing and very impressive sound design: About that 2016-17 Panasonic-shot film, I have absolutely no idea about.
  16. I guess he's moved to the Sony A Series from Panasonic. He was baking the colours into the Panasonic G7, on the last shoot we heard about (in 2016-17). He's been doing travel videos, from what I can guess.
  17. I love Panasonic's Cameras. I had to choose between the Canon 7D and the Panasonic GH2, and I chose the GH2. Tried a couple of hacks and loved the video quality. I saw Andrew's famous B&W video with the ISO at 12800, and the whole thing seemed so surreal. I believe Panasonic's marketing and supply chain didn't push the GH2 enough, otherwise it would have been a lot more popular, on Indie Films, both shorts and features. I then got a GX85 and GH5. The GX85 is amazing for the size and great for travel, and the GH5 was atleast 1-2 years ahead of its time, when it released. I like the bright and portable lenses of the M43, most of all, I guess. I also use a Samsung S7 (I may buy an S11/S20, if it has a great camera) since its highly portable, and while I carry ILCs when I travel, I don't really like the idea of changing lenses or opening and removing cameras from bags, when I am travelling. Plus I tried a few softwares for upressing the 12MP photos to 48MP and they seem pretty promising. The final quality seems in between Instagram and ILC quality. I guess in 2020, if I find something that does High Res photos well (16MP+) and 6k on a smartphone, I may actually use a smartphone, for photo and video, even more. I wish Blackmagic would push RAW into a proper DSLR/Mirrorless kind of body, with way better battery, maybe IBIS and general ease of use, right out of the box. I would like to pick up something like that too.
  18. I agree. DFD is absolute rubbish, especially with the lack of a ToF and Laser Focus. It can never replace PDAF, and in video the gap is even more apparent. I also want atleast another stop and a half of dynamic range, in video. Built-in Electronic ND would be superb too.
  19. You may be right. The GH6 may do either 6k or 8k. I am guessing it would be 6k, because 8k may be too large a jump (too much of processing power and also may lose out on much better low light). Hopefully 4k at 120fps too. Though I wonder how good or bad the rolling shutter would be.
  20. Hahaha. Sorry TYPO. I Edited that. The predictive text function is weird on my phone. Earlier everything was about sex, and now, luckily its some random word.
  21. 'High-sensitivity', 'low power consumption' and 'variable-speed shutter function', seem to be the the take away here. So I guess we should expect much better low light, lots of new functions necessary in low power consumption devices like smartphones, some manner of HDR for photo (and video?) like on smartphones. Interesting. Though it doesn't seem to have 14-bit RAW photo, which I was hoping M43 moves towards.
  22. Panasonic not making imaging sensors doesn't mean much. Their imaging sensors weren't exactly path breaking and not even sufficient for their own ILCs (probably both in quality and in production numbers). The same can probably be said for their other semi conductor innovations. It's a good idea that they are cutting their losses. They should focus on developing their M43 and L-mount better, with better network and after sales and listen to customers. IMHO, the GH5 and Pansonic's M43 cameras could have done a lot better (in terms of sales), if it targetted indie filmmakers and film students more specifically, since video prowess has always being their forté.
