Nice looking frames. I love your rig as well.
I have had good results with ProRes LT to Vimeo.

So I’ve tested out the F3 a bit but I can’t seem to get it right when outputting the footage from resolve.
ive recorded with the VA 4:2:2 slog rgb with a 95mbits sd card in ProRes hq.
I get very desaturated colors when uploading to Vimeo and on QuickTime however it is fine with VLC.
I did some research and found out it’s something called « gamma Shift » occurring between different color spaces like the Apple displays that uses the same system for colors as the web players.
Also, I’ve upscaled the footage by 2 so I guess it is UHD ? Ive tried x4 but it keeps crashing. I Exported in 2:39 2048x858
For the codecs I tested out QuickTime dnxhr hq 10bit and h264 but it is pretty bad.
Can you guys share some knowledge about how to do a good render with resolve ? And also adress this issue with the gamma shift ? I’m looking to post my work exclusively on Vimeo and such so I need to find a good workflow with that and a file that is not too big for the upload.
also I’m on windows so I do not have ProRes out.

exemple of a h264 export (also some footage is underexposed...)

    Make timeline and
Timeline and output color space should be Rec. 709.
Data levels for web delivery should be set to video.
On the timeline make sure each clips data levels are set to FULL.
Use sharpening instead of superscale, superscale internally raises the resolution, when you try to use x3 superscale it raises the internal resolution to 8K which is why your constantly running out of video memory. Use x2 max before sharpening.

In case of you are not able to use a large camera bag to cover the camera and you are planing to transport it in a seat of the car with the seat belt, which I use most of the time, also use a blanket, a jacket or whatever you have available to cover the camera, you really don't want anybody to notice you are transporting a cinema camera.

My camera isn't built up at the moment.
But the principle is get the camera as far back on your shoulder as possible, most builds I see are far too front heavy. And I use arri rosettes as much as possible, as they firmly lock into place.

    Edit:
Just found this picture of me from four years ago shooting a short film with the F3, this isn't how I'd rig it up today, but gives you at least a rough rough idea:

It's not as heavy as it looks. Besides, between the top handle and the side grip it's infinitely more comfortable to handhold than a DSLR/mirrorless imo.
I'm tied up this weekend, but Monday or Tuesday I'll try and get some Protest HQ test clips up for y'all to mess with.

Yes most F3 specific accessories have ceased being made.
And I wouldn't be surprised if back in the day the new price for the 3ality technica body armour was more than what a used F3 costs now!

Yes, that's a common way to transport a cinema camera during a shoot, or on the AC's lap.
Otherwise inside a really large camera bag. You might remove the monitor/EVF to make it easier to transport the camera, but otherwise leave it all rigged up as is.

On one feature I shot, we used a "Snow White"-themed rolling case, very similar to this:

We put in a little padding in it, and it was very convenient in carrying the fully built camera.  When we wanted the camera on set, we would call, "'Princess Case' on set!"

When shooting in crowds, we could walk a fair distance away from the case, and nobody bothered it.

Well ive already done it with small cameras but not with the F3, but yes i guess it is not the best for car rigging however it still is a solution for low budget ( around 300e).
Yes the image woobles a bit when there are bumps in the road but at low speed (no more than 25mph) in a controlled environnement you can get pretty good results, at least with small camera.
You can see it at around 29sec on this music video i did :

Of course it is amateur but at least i can still get some cool shots

Hello guys, i just wanted to say that i just bought a Sony F3 with 444 RGB + the video assist (for just over 1200€) as my first camera after seeing what y'all said about it.
I was originally going for the A7sii because that's the camera i've always rented but i had a bit of issues while doing heavy grading.
I tested it out a bit with my set of canon FDs and i really like the look of it, but i'm a little worried with the weight.
Do any of you already used it on a Glidecam ? I tried it on my Ronin M and obviously it did not work but i am wondering if it is possible with a glidecam in order to get steadyshots.
I tested it out with a wheelchair and it seems to work pretty good on plane surface.
Maybe it is better to get a cheap small camera to go with to use for these type of shots .Thinking about the original A7s wich is selling at around 500€ used in my area or maybe a GH4/A6300 with a focal reducer.
    What do you think ?
Also i will try to mount it on my car tomorrow with the camtree car mount beacuse i saw a photo of a F3 being rigged on with it :

    I think you're a consumerist idiot.
Genuinely - if you don't want hyped prices... why cut and paste a YouTube hype piece about it all over Internet forums.
    And then say "NOOOOOOOO"
What are you? a 12 years old?
This shill likely trawls this forum for content ideas - This thread being one. Which is why you see his F3 hype piece and smirky expression.
Where do you think he genuinely got the idea for buying an F3 from?
Do you really think he has a single original idea of his own?
Youtube - the gold standard for scientific research 😂
And his stuff is that boring too, I can't get past the first 15 seconds

Unfortunately, those stills are from a project I no longer have access to--just the raw clips I'm grading for my reel.
If anyone wants some ungraded stills/clips, I can post a few for y'all to play with.

Well i didn't find a local provider in france but maybe i've not searched enough, i know that there is also andecfilms in Germany that provides this type of service but their website is very bad. Gauge films is pretty good, very responsive team and good results.

Wanted to say that I have used the original A7s alongside the F3 and it actually worked pretty well. Color was not far off and you could easily cut them together if your not pushing the A7s to far.

If you're on a budget, definitely consider getting a smaller camera for glidecam/gimbal shots. I use an A7III for that on smaller jobs, and it cuts pretty well after a quick tweak in Resolve. The Pocket 4K is a better match for dynamic range and grade-ability, but tougher to match in skin tones and much clumsier as a camera body. The 6K is a GREAT match, but at that point you're spending twice as much as you did on the F3 and may as well make the 6K your A-cam.

Haven't used all the newer DSLR/mirrorless bodies to know how well they'd line up, but all of them will take some secondary work to cut in a 2-camera setup.

    You'd 100% want a vest too.
Not unless you're doing the shortest of shots, and only on an infrequent basis.
I've had my F3 on a steadicam before (not me though, had a steadicam op), and yeah, it's not something to be handled lightly. (ha!)
    It is weird.
Put a timecode box and a wireless RX on it for scratch.
Pick any two (although all three is ideal, or in a pinch, just one) of:
    1) wireless camera hop
    2) timecode box
    3) any SDC, or a very short shotgun (such as Sanken CS1e /  CS-1M, Rode NTG5, Deity S-Mic 2S)

If it's just for sync you can go for any cheap On camera XLR mic
    https://www.amazon.com/Bestshoot-Condenser-Microphone-Photography-Camcorders/dp/B076J4TTQP/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=on+camera+XLR&qid=1593429930&sr=8-8#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
Then add a really short XLR with it.

Antoin e reacted to Andrew Reid in Woke film criticism. The Shining makes coming after your wife with an axe "permissible"
The school lesson for today kids, is:
    1. Jack by all means MUST apologise in a lengthy monologue at the end, brush the ice from his hair and making clear that in no way is he morally right to come after his wife with an axe.
    2. The "problematic and triggering" child abuse must be balanced by an extra 30 minute scene inserted into the middle of the director's cut, where Danny has counselling.
    3. Rather than Shelly brushing all this off as a bad day at the office for Jack, she should immediately leave the hotel at the beginning of the movie and bring Danny with her.
I think the film would be improved immeasurably for contemporary audiences with just 3 simple changes.
