is HLG 10 bit or no?

I have done about a dozen separate HLG vs FLog tests here and HLG has not looked better in any of them. Low light capture is significantly better with Flog, maybe a full stop more captured information. Flog has been cleaner and easier to work with by a huge factor. I will still aim that way unless an awesome HLG workflow comes out.

Okay, I am 100% new to HLG and everything. I took a test shot this morning, and I saw that there is a lot of latitudes, but getting the most of it required really stretching it in Resolve. What is everyone's HLG X-T3 workflow? I just perfected my FLog workflow like a week ago and now this LOL

Ok so I attached the wrong LUT, my bad. Did a whole bunch of testing and I am still on the fence about HLG on this camera? I never really used LUT's to grade my FLog, and I feel that is why that magenta is occurring... I always make 3 nodes, 1. monochrome/WB fix, 2. Curves with splines to get the S-Curve 3. Color Space Transform 2020-709 And typically after that, I will do another color space transform to get the Alexa Gamma, and then back to 709 and do some LGG to get my shadows and stuff right. ^^^i do this only for a "look", the first 3 steps are really the meat. and potatoes

Not the biggest fan of what that LUT does to the highlights, I messed around a little bit with mine. Arri3.cube

I have never experienced it. I have also not used any LUT's to grade my XT3 stuff, just Resolve curves and 2020-709 color space. With LUTCalc, what are you using? I tried to make the AlexaX2 from FLog one, and the highlights got NASTY!

Tbh I think i still like the Flog tbh, but that HLG does look great. What is the exposure requirements for it? I have never shot HLG in my life...

Gotcha. My current list is the MVMXPROA5US and the MVH502AH

Also, I am sticking with the 502AH head because that is the only one I have confirmed evidence it works with the DJI plates.

Thats weird. I have a July2018 MBP maxed and it handles h.265 10bit like a champ.

That is a great point. While my budget is about 300$ and the carbon fiber one is about 250$ on its own before the 150$ 502 head, is there the next model down from that? doesn't need to be carbon fiber fyi

Yea, I did that, and they didnt match up. I messed with the color profiles and then the reimport did match, but the exports were still gross. Except for in VLC

If only there was a solution for the washed-out export concern. I have tried every tutorial, calibrated my display, tried every combo of export settings in Resolve and literally nothing has worked. Shot a short test clip, and recorded a tutorial on grading Fuji X-T3 footage in Resolve and I can't post it because every export kills my footage..

Man that Letus looks awesome. Question. I keep getting confused by this. the 35mm has a 43mm thread and the 16-55 has a 77mm thread. From what I gathered, those SLR Magic wont fit?

I can agree with this. With face detect and on my Ronin, I had issues. With all of that set off and then just normal area AF on, have very little issues. But since getting the follow focus motor, I have been fully manual all day and love it 1. Get a Tripod/Monopod/GImbal 2. Did you not do ANY research on this item before you dropped 1500$+ and then complained about it online? In a forum full of people who do their research?

I did, it breaks the footage. I have to TRY to break the XT3 footage really hard before i get banding, and that LUT just does it right away

Hey everyone. Looking to take my XT3 experience to another level and go 1.33x Anamorphic. I currently use the 16-55mm 2.8 and 35mm f2 and I have NO idea where to start. Can someone help me along in this process?

I have the Ronin-S focus motor. It works great. Wish the wheel was larger for more precision but I am learning to live with it and I love it.
