  1. Did many more 2K vs 4K test this weekend. 4K wins by a huge margin every time. Noise is much uglier and footage gets really unusable past 5000 ISO. 4K is still OK. Still trying to find a workflow to convert to 709. Sony was much easier in Resolve to do Color Space Transform. Fuji doesn’t have an exact curve in their system. Had best luck so far using Color Space Transform and setting it to Cineon Log and Rec.2020. My second technique was using the Fuji 2020-709 LUT and then doing a manual S-Curve on multiple nodes If anyone know a better way, please let me know.
  2. I have that book! It actually is almost entirely about editing and not the coloring~
  3. Attached are my examples - TIFF exports from Resolve- First 2 are 2020-709 conversion, 2K and then 4K - 2nd set is Eterna LUT 2K and 4K Eterna4K.tif Eterna2K.tif 2020-7092K00087016.tif 2020-7094K.tif
  4. I have the Ronin. Love it and it has a ton of control! I had a Crane and those little twists and pans made it unbearable - never had that roblem with the Ronin
  5. Also I did 2K vs 4K tests for a while last night -- I will also post those results
  6. I will post some screenshots tonight to show you. Also. With 10Bit, I stopped exposing to the right for log. I like my highlights.
  7. Nope - I actively avoid the Eterna LUT - really burns the footage. I use the Fuji Flog-709 LUT and I love it.
  8. I gotta say, I do have to disagree with this. I started out with this setting and the noise is much larger and harder to get rid of than in DCI4K. If i need to make the footage softer I will use the midtone detail in Resolve. However, I do always use a DCI2K timeline in resolve - no need to deliver in 4K for me yet
  9. While I do agree with some of this statement. I own the 16-55 and it is stupid fast and sharp and dead silent. Its a bag of primes
  10. 16-55 is a great lens. Absolutely gorgeous and really does have a cinematic feel to it. I am actually having some issues with the focus though, and most likely it is user error, I am flying mine on a gimbal and it locks and loses focus with the subject and hunts like crazy - yet handheld and tripod use is totally fine, and photo af is perfect, when im moving on a gimbal it freaks. most likely user error though
  11. I should add, i LOVE color grading. Its so much fun.
  12. Lots of documentary and short films, but most popular is I shoot alot of local music shows.
  13. So, I have my X-T3 enroute and with a 2nd possible in the next month. Just to give me a good baseline... What are the absolute best settings for video? I will be running most of the time on a Ronin, so what AF settings should I be using?
  14. He does acknowledge the lenses. I watched it on mute and to make it short, they all do very good jobs within close margins of each other.
  15. For everyone to shit on!
  16. Man, I'm sorry to hear about all of this. The inane toxicity of the EOSHD forums is sickening.
  17. Any experience with these? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1406012-REG/prograde_digital_pgsd64gbcj2bh_pgd_64gb_sdxc_uhs_ii.html
  18. I figured I should just reply here. 16-55 vs 18-55(kit) + 35mm f2 ?
  19. I keep wrestling between the 16-55 and the 18-55 - massive savings to be had.
  20. Good Lord it's non-existent in comparison to the 6500.!!!!
  21. ±By itself sure, but I would plan on caging it up with some larger stuff. How is the Rolling ±SHutter on the camera? I use the Ronin S with my a6500 and when it set it to sports mode, everything becomes jelly. I assume with a new CPU and fun stuff this is an issue of the past?
  22. Coming from an a6500, how is the rolling shutter?
  23. Old Canon C100 with Rokinon Cine lenses, and sold old JVC ENG camera I can not remember the name of it. I do remember neither was stabilized internally but we had Ronins and Monopods for everything
  24. Which is ok w me, as up until my last camera, I never had IS, so I am used to it.
