    On a complete tangent.....
Go motorised for under $50 (including some strips of lino which you'll need outdoors!).
Fits in your pocket and honestly with a small camera it is far better than it has a right to be for the price.

I was watching that test trying to think of a scenario where you would have to track focus of someone walking to camera, disappearing off the bottom of the frame quickly, reappearing just as quickly from the bottom of the frame and then turning and walking away.
I am now convinced beyond any doubt that the Sony A6500 would be my go to camera to shoot weightlifting.

That's great to hear.  I already have the same as you a Novation Launchcontrol (cheap, especially second hand) and Hercules DJ controller (great if I can map the focus to the jog wheel).
Thanks for your efforts on this

To be honest, there'll be a version for that too as its just a remap exercise.
Bit trickier in terms of getting one that has the right combination of switches, pots and faders and also that is a) readily available (these things drop on and off the market) b) a reasonable price and c) compact.
The target price for people to pay to source all the stuff is less than £40 and the bluetooth ones fit that perfectly.
The middle ground is an XBOX type controller that I've sourced which has nicer sticks (two of them) and might be more appropriate size wise with bigger cameras like GH5.
There won't be anything stopping people having both though so they can use the bluetooth ones for stealthier setups and the XBOX type one if they're using a rig etc.

Although I would like the big one, I would also really like the full blown midi version (not an option for that in the poll  ).  Looking forward to trying this out

    Dear folks,
I have been stealthily snooping around and making grateful use of your experiments and knowledge exchange. Thought I'd pay it back with a little test: Cinelike D.
Settings: 0, -5, -5, -3. GX80 had a Olympus 12mm, and the G80 a 17mm, for the rest settings are all the same. Hope it's worth your while.
    Jpg 1 is G80, 2 is GX80.

For anyone looking for a cheap 4K travel camera with a 30x zoom (!) that can have cinelike d then I can confirm that it can indeed be done for the Panasonic TZ80
And if you are travelling through Stansted airport then if you go to the Dixons tax free shop then ask to buy the demo one as I've just been there and left it already enabled on C3 for you

I won't know for sure until I've seen the files but for what its worth this is my current stretch rating for this
Still better chance than the bit rate stuff though

It will just be settings rather than a hack (unless you have the GX80 where it will use the current one to get Cinelike on to it)
Needs a lot more testing yet (some of which will have to be automated so there's more code to be written today to do that) so its a bit away from being revealed just yet.

And just to stress that the purpose of this particular prodder is to help develop colour profiles rather than being an end thing in itself, in case you thought I was advocating twiddling around like Kraftwerk while you're recording video.
Though having said that, I think that there is a place for a similar type of control surface (one with faders as well as pots and a few switches) to operate the cameras in terms of the rest of its functionality like shutter, iris and focus. In that way, the colour profile function could just be switched into a second layer and be permanently available.
Should also mention that you will be able to save a lot more than the one custom profile that Panasonic offers you with this system so once you have all of these parameters as you like them then you can save the whole snapshot for instant recall via buttons on the controller.
If this gets any traction you'll also be able to easily share them with each other too to load on to your own cameras.

A quick video demo of the new prodder in action.
All controls are real time with feedback of the parameters on the LCD screen.
The video shows a recording of the G7 being controlled (and of it being controlled as the changes are live when its recording) but will obviously work with the other Lumix cameras.
    Parameters controlled are :

Profile type (Standard, cinelike D etc)
    Contrast
    Noise Reduction
    Sharpness
    Saturation Hue
and ISO so you can see any effect changes that may or may not occur with your current settings at different ISOs

Now there may be no bugs in the software but there certainly was in the video. A real life bug crawling across the Colour Checker!
