mechanicalEYE got a reaction from Attila Bakos in Fuji X-H2S
I heard back from Atomos support as well last week. They said the exact same-thing to me.
I called Fuji to report the feedback from Atomos and the guy told me he tried the exact combo himself and doesn't see it but his tone was shit… He seemed very uninterested and dismissive. He actually said its not a problem for the camera, blamed Atomos, and said just because 3 or 4 cameras have this issue doesn't mean its a problem for the camera. I’m thinking they have known about the issue and sitting and quietly scaling customer feedback. I emailed them last Wednesday and haven't received response to that email. I guess it's a shoot internally for now wait and see game. I really like the camera as its fun to use but for my first time dealing with Fuji support I am very disappointed.
As you mention the dynamic range internally is better. I’m just gonna use my SmallHd indie 5 monitor and stick with F-Log2

Well, just got reply from Atomos about the bad pixel issue in 6.2K raw:
Please note that our engineering has gone over your case and replicated and tested your setup.
Unfortunately, the issue lies with the camera as it is outputting the bad pixel in 6.2 k RAW.
We would love to help you fix the issue but as it is on the camera end our hands are tied.
Please contact the camera manufacturer to get this issue resolved.
Fuji doesn't give a shit about my emails, so I wouldn't expect a fix anytime soon. This, and the framerate issue, and also the fact that Fuji's ProRes RAW has noticeably less dynamic range than F-Log, not to mention F-Log2, makes me loose faith in this company, they do a lot of things right but they always have to fuck up little things like this.

Good to hear. I read your initial post on the 3.0 update and I was 🤷‍♂️ lost because from what I can tell with the small amount of time I've had to shoot anything since updating I definitely see improvement and I was pretty cool with the AF before the update.

Just to follow up, in case anyone is reading.
Turns out it was definitely more my settings (which I had jiggered oddly to work around the old firmware). Setting everything back to stock then selecting continuous, area, sensitivity at 0, and speed at -4 and I'm quite happy with the results for moving images. Nice update!

Yep, that is the only consideration to make. For just 200 more, the S5 II X seems to be the best way to go. I honestly would have expected them to have external raw options in the S5 II since the s5 already has prores and b-raw support.

Lack of IBIS doesn't bother me though. The stabilization on their glass seems to fill the cup even better under certain variables :- )

    Merry Christmas, Andrew.
I'm stoked that you've decided to continue to put your valuable time and energy in to this site. I've been here since 2015 and have really enjoyed the interaction. Can't wait to see what you have in store. Thank you for all your past hard work.

Hello to everyone on the forum!
    A Merry Christmas from me!
I hope you're looking forward to having a good break over the holidays and are ready to welcome in 2022. Talking of holidays - I have been having a break from EOSHD for a few months. I went and sat on a hill and finally had time to reflect on my work which is this blog and the community around it. The last video had a lot of support, it's made me really appreciate what I have in a more positive light. I'm mega appreciative of the people who took the time to say how EOSHD has helped them over the years and that they want it to continue.
So that's what we'll do! EOSHD is back.

Yep, it's not EOSHD that's the problem it's me! I need to get my enthusiasm back. It's been a tough time.
Thanks for the comments guys, it is helping me figure things out a lot.

This site is largely responsible for me grabbing the GH1, my First camera. From there I picked up every GH release since all the way to the GH5 with a BMPCC stuck in there. You could say for sure Andrew and EOSHD was the OG camera influencer.
I haven't logged on much recently but definitely lurk consistently cause even now it's one of the best sources for real info.
Whatever is decided, I wish you the best @AndrewReid and will definitely stay tuned.

So my friends I am fed up, burnt out after the lockdowns, lonely in my job.
I can't go on like this for much longer.
I'm considering closing the blog and forum, but no decision made yet.
Unless I revive my passion for cameras and tech, and indeed even shooting - I'm done!
Hope you can stick around for what happens next.
And any ideas about changing the direction of the site, are welcome!
    Cheers!

    Nice find with the FAQ.
Maybe it's my misconception about Gerald.
I can agree with him about corporate work not being all that interesting enough to share (and often there's no permission for that anyway) and I can see why he wouldn't want to do any more of that when he's got a successful business with the YouTube channel.
It's not a personal thing, only an observation, a suggestion that I'd enjoy his channel more if it had visuals, images, photography, short sequences to set the mood and cinematic moments.
We are too eager to see the binary Me vs Them, when the point I am making is more about the consumerism and the dubious creative need to switch cameras so often. I watch a YouTube channel about headphones. I ended up with an addiction and 20 pairs of expensive ones.
I am also a nerd that also likes playing with cameras as much as I like shooting with them. When EOSHD started the snobby pros were constantly asking searching questions of me - where was my pro work, paid work, client work? All mine was my own creative projects, self funded, I travelled the world under my own steam to make my own stuff and practice the art of cinematography and photography. I was pretty much attacked by the Cinema5D crowd about this all the time - if I wasn't a professional making money from commercial clients - I was nothing. An amateur, a fool, a "tester".
I still think there is a Canadian manager though 🙂

Yes, it's not there, or it wasn't when checked earlier... they listed it on the US press release but it's updates are always kinda slow for the US site. I have made a habit of looking on the Japan site on release dates.
anyways, I'm running 2.2 from the provided link, and have no issues seeing the files on FCPX.

🤣 No not at all... If I update firmware and lose a workaround it wont be anyones fault but my own.
I've tip-toed into these updates since the beginning fearing that Canon was only updating to seal up some loose ends.
