This looks like a great camera to me. Too bad the ibis isnt as great as the lumix camera's. But looks better then fx3, has a better screen, takes better stills. Never had an nikon before. So might end up buying one. The big monitor sounds like a win, as it makes so much difference in the process of enjoying making video's. External monitors are somewhat a drag.
Looks like a nice camera, looking forward to some side by sides with the c50, fx3 and s1ii. AF with adapters, AF with native glass, ibis, colour, dr, battery life.
I presume the AF on the dji ronin 4d is better then the s1rii. Allthough not sure. Something I negletated over a decade, but now I realise how much time you save by using AF. So it moved up in my importance list. And is why I am also considering sony again, as they still seem to lead the pack in the AF department.
Well the prompting is not that easy, what sometimes you think is easy turns out in an horror challenge to get it somehow how you would like. It costs credits. Clients depend on your knowhow and experience to get it done. Similar like actual shooting, what is stopping them to get an camera and shoot it themselves. Time/costs
Hi,
Who here has used an dji ronin 4d? Whats your experience? What are the cons and pro's?
(The weight seems a big con. 5kg..) maybe also its size is an issue, as its quite the setup. And it might not fit in places where an mirrorless might fit.
But I never used or seen one, so I am not sure.
Cheers
Allthough it is not entirenly only my issue. Clients (production companies) ask footage to be shot in log. And while it is no longer my issue but the editor or color grader issue. I prefer the colours coming straight out of camera to be nice. Especially when they are combinging footage from different shooters and camera's. I don't want to be the guy where they have the most work in post with. As most production companies ask feedback forms from everyone involved, and if an editor writes down "I prefer the footage from shooter B because the colours are ready to go, and I am shooter A, then I might move down the list of shooters to call for a new project".
Alllthough I will try to always use the C500 ii for these types of clients when possible. Where the colours are stellar straight out of camera.
Ntblowz might be onto something.
I 99.9% shoot caucasian people, and red skin patches might be more prone to white skin.
Obviously your still is graded and not a rec 709 conversion. But agree here it looks good. But might also have to do with the skincolor.
Allthough I never seem to have any skintones issues with blackmagic or canon c500ii and on my s5ii footage this always pops up.
I know its not the same, but it is super obvious how red the skintones are on the s1ii. (Have not looked into much other comparison videos, but I saw this one passing my fb feed)
Could you fix it sure, but why is it so bad right out of camera? And it is something users have been complaining about for years, and they even made it worse..
Sure most reviewers that got shipped an camera from panasonic dont point this out..
