This This!!!:) Even for musicvideos I sometimes turn the music off to evaluate the visuals. Even some very trickery and expensive visuals cannot hide their lack of imagination sometimes. I watched a super hip hexy sexy musicvideo a few days ago. I left the music off, to see, if it was more than trickery. It was not, it was a complete rip off of from Wong Kar Wais and Chris Doyles masterpiece "Fallen Angels", but not referrencing or admittingly using inspiration, but copycatting into a lackluster montage and story.

Sony A7R III review - the BBC fixed Sony's colour!
PannySVHS replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Hey Gregor, tomorrow it´s gonna be beautiful in Berlin. So Andrew should grab a shot or two, don´t you think?:) We would love to see some classic footage from the fleamarket crowd and all the chills and thrills in beautiful sun and sunset, hmm, sunrise too, it´s gonna be a long day of beautiful footage!!!:) -
@mercer, you beat me with the first Like by one second! @hyalinejim, massively great color. Pics don´t look good but fantastic! Awesome write up. Super fun to read. One of the most interesting and enjoyable posts of the last weeks. Thank you!

You as filmmakers are referring to my honest and very positive feedback in a way that does not do anything to give me a smile as well. Did you get me argumentation? You both know the power and craft of silent film. To judge the visual interest of a very short clip is to concentrate on the visuality of a film, espcially when it´s only 1min long. To do a 480p test on Jons video was a compliment and trust towards the very high resolving lens. It´s the only time I have seen such good 480p on youtube. Hey Mattias, great find! It would be awesome, to get this pony running with a Bmpcc speed booster: 0.58x1.796= 1.04, plus 1.7 stops increase in light gathering!

Yeah, I think that´s an exellent idea. Minus the osiris lut and color will look better too:)
-
Back to topic, you geeky, freaky nerds?:)
-
Lower the ISO to 3200:)
-
Max, please feel free to interrupt! The original request is a rather odd one, I might say. I fell for it. Odd too, I must say.
-
Jon, great 480p delivery is an indicator of great acquisition. Some awesome DVD editions reference to great acquisition. About Robins short, one min without sound, just to see the quality of the visual output alone. Robin did splendid regarding his layout and montage.
-
Like. Great job. I watched without sound and it was a good layout and montage of shots and the story told very well within one minute. Well done! @jonpais I watched your Oly 75mm video in 480p on a 27inch monitor. Looks like some cameras in 720p, lol.

@apekkpul, posted this in the other GH5s thread. I would like to hear your guys opinion about that read. Apekkpul posted this read from mysterybox the maker of the launch video below. They are stating 14 stops of dynamic range for the GH5 in the text below, being extracted from the VLOG-L profile. Maybe @maxotics, @Sage and @deezid could chim in as well with their knowledge: https://www.mysterybox.us/blog/2018/1/8/panasonic-gh5s-hdr10

@apekkpul, Thanks for posting. I repost this in the other GH5s. Maybe some of our scientifically approaching members could chim in as well, @maxotics , @Sage Edit: @Neumann Films, Luke, are these guys from mystery box the same ones, who graded your film? I mean, on my SD monitor your grade looked awesome and high end, while the official grade just looked nothing special compared to yours.

You are not trolling, I hope! http://www.newsshooter.com/2017/11/16/wooden-camera-creates-pl-mount-panasonic-eva1/ Bye:)

eva 1 and all sorrows are gone:)
-
Plus, you have the same roll off at 2500ISO. And your footage proves that. Your graded version shows especially awesome color at that ISO! One can shoot this little beast like it was a C300MK1 in 4K and 10bit.

The A7S/II had messed up the usual 2 ISO steps difference between FF and m43 and made it a 3.5 ISO stop gap. The GH5s has put it back on to normal ground now regarding DP RAW chart. The S has a 1.5 ISO step gain above the GH5, in video 2, making it possible to shot at ISO 6400 in lowlight, with over all better looking video at ISOs up to 12800 in lowlight compared to the Sony A7s. By the way, EXIF shows they used CC 2015 for the A7s and CC 2017 for the GH5s as their RAW converter.

If it would not be in sync, there would not be much sense in posting. Even if not in sync, same 10mm lens and still wider fov on the stabilized footage. So this is wrong. I´m leaving this thread at this point now to leave space for others to discuss this and so I don´t cause this thread to bloat like the GH5s thread did.:) cheers
-
If Jon has not replied yet, I must, in his name, say yes, Sir!
-
Muaha, lol! Look at the stabilizied version, it has a wider fov than the unstabilized one. Muaha!
-
@DBounce, The GH5s will exactly satisfy that need. From what I´ve seen 6400 ISO on the S model is better than 1600 ISO on the GH5.
-
You understand me, Emanuel. Thank you:)

Well, the shot looks like she was a scream queen from a Dario Argento color fest, doesn´t she? I just didn´t worry about logical color nor about polluted highlights. It still looks creamy and luscious, just not accurate but giving the estimation of a cinematic image, still miles ahead of DSLM color, being rich and luxurious.:)
-
Exellent point! I was hoping to get one of these elegant beautiful cameras for a small price, so to say as a poor mans Digital Bolex. But it would have to be the other way around, the Digital Bolex being the 2K 24p version of a poor mans AJA:)
-
Max is a great teacher but it would be cool two have the same content with less real time:) Cut the same fantastic content from a 27min video to a 15min video. Great knowledge, just a little, little bit much real time action.:)

I figured that you wouldnt be a fan of the rendering, after reading your reply:) Horses for courses- I like that saying much better. But with language too- horses for courses. Camera had firmware updates, that I know.
