  1. Would be nice to see this improvement in video mode too: http://www.canonrumors.com/dynamic-range-test-of-eos-1d-x-mark-ii/
  2. I registered a few days ago on bmcuser just to watch these new images. Apparenty it takes like a week to get activated, until then you can't see them.
  3. "(2) Convergent Design SSD media 265GB" - looks like 2 to me.
  4. With the 7Q you can record 4K 60p (and 120p burst) and 2K 240p in raw mode, anyone knows if the new shogun raw update will allow the same framerates? AaronChicago: congrats for your purchase, can't wait to see you test it, I wonder how you'll like the colors.
  5. Actually climbing mountains will be important here too, but I thought I just grow some muscles... or not. Let's see what this new Canon 1DXII offers.
  6. Jimmy, would you recommend the FS700/OQ7 duo to someone looking for 4K and 2K HFR with colors like 5D3 RAW? It's for a personal project with lots of time and storage space.
  7. While you can get decent enough details with a good lens, I think the NX1's sharpness and detail is unrivaled in this price category.
  8. I see your point but I just can't get past the aliasing, it's just so evident. For me it's like you see it once and then you see it everywhere. The overall image is gorgeous though, nothing can beat it in this price range, no argument there.
  9. It seems it wasn't your mistake at all, it's clearly there in the DNG files. And as I said I see it in almost all 5D3 videos, it must be a ML thing.
  10. Thanks that would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Absolutely love colors of this camera, however there is one thing I notice in almost all 5D3 RAW videos. That aliasing in the first video at 2:20 at the fence for example, pretty ugly. I'm considering an FS700 + 7Q (for RAW), but I wonder if that could give me colors like this.
  12. Well the price didn't last long... 3719 GBP now.
  13. I'm still thinking about this combo. Would you choose it over the upcoming URSA Mini if colors and dynamic range is top priority? I know the FS700 can be messy to shoot with but I have time.
  14. Okay I get it now, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, he will need an attenuator.
  15. Okay I'm not familiar with the Zoom H4N. Are you saying that it's possible to overdrive an otherwise clean signal inside the recorder and record it at an attenuated level?
  16. If you boost a signal and it clips then yes you can distort it, but the waveform shows -24dB loudness, so I guess it was not the Zoom H4N that clipped it. The line in signal must have been already clipped.
  17. I think the waveform speaks for itself. It seems you recorded an already clipped source at a lower volume.
  18. I wonder how the FS700 + 7Q RAW would look like compared to these. I know it's old and hard to handle, but let's say I have all the time in the world and my priorities are color and DR, and I like having 4K, isn't the FS700 a good choice then? I was waiting for the URSA Mini 4.6K but I can't say I liked what I've seen so far.
  19. A few days earlier someone from bmcuser.com asked B&H on the phone, they told him 4-6 months. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I don't think it's coming soon.
  20. If that's a fixed pattern noise on the D5200, can it be removed like this? http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/6506-fixed-pattern-noise-subtraction-test/
  21. Do you know if the D750 can get better results with an external recorder?
  22. According to Max the NX1 is better until ISO 1600, at 3200 they are about the same and at 6400 the GH4 is better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60NLXo4-3Ks
