  1. I also found the story nice, but I have to admit I was distracted by rolling shutter too.
  2. Canon easily dominates Flickr and stockphoto stats. I know, that's not necessarily where pros reside, but dying? Nah.
  3. Aaaand.... it's done. Another topic ruined. It's easy really: 1. take a topic where you think Andrew is being offensive 2. start caring 3. wait Guys this is no joke, it really works!! If you're being loud enough, the loyal dog of eoshd (lafilm) will come out of his dungeon and bark at you! You don't see a sight like this every day, so grab your FS7 and take your shots, the world needs to see this!
  4. It's a good bundle for someone who doesn't want to dig deep into reviews and such. The 67mm filter and a step up ring could make it even cheaper.
  5. Go go 5D4, you can do it http://www.canonwatch.com/cw3-canon-eos-5d-mark-iv-specification-surface-24mp-dual-pixel-af-4k-anti-flickr-new-af-system/
  6. From northlight-images: "the 5D mark 4 will be announced in August, where it will feature much improved video and stills performance, and a 'modest' increase in MP" Doh... the wait.
  7. Earlier rumors spoke about 3 versions, two of which are high megapixel, and one more like a successor to the 5D3. I'm more interested in the latter, not to mention that the 50MP ones will be significantly more expensive I think.
  8. To NX1 owners: it would be nice to see the new Gamma DR mode in high contrast situations. So far I've read some comments here and there which indicate that this new profile doesn't necessarily mean more DR.
  9. I think they are the cheapest now with HDMI2.0 support. And while the 970/980 only have encoding support for HEVC, this one also has decoding support. Which brand did you buy?
  10. What do you mean? It's already downloadable from Samsung's site, it was released hours ago.
  11. Well, 4K@60Hz via MST is kinda like a hack, I think it's better to choose a monitor with SST, or maybe wait for a good HDMI2.0 monitor. There's the 32 inch Asus PA328Q but it costs a lot. For that you also need a new GPU of course, like the GTX 970/980.
  12. I'm asking because UHD at 60Hz in a single stream is pretty much on the edge of DP 1.2. Just found this on another forum, it's about IGP-s, and by 4K he means UHD: "The main requirement for supporting 4K@60 on DP SST (single-stream transport) is that the core display clock (CDCLK), which is configured by SBIOS, must be set high enough to drive the dot clock required by the mode. Usually 4K@60 has a 536MHz dot clock, so it requires a 540MHz CDCLK. If the system OEM did not configure the CDCLK at 540MHz for thermal, power saving, or other reasons, then the system will not be able to drive 4K@60 over a single DP stream. Also, Haswell ULT (-U) and ULX (-Y) are limited to 450MHz and 337MHz CDCLK, so they will not be able to do 4K@60 SST." You can't even be sure with dedicated display cards, the drivers and some say even the cables have to be right. I hope DP 1.3 arrives soon, until then, read forums about working setups if you want UHD@60Hz on SST.
  13. Can it do UHD 60Hz with one DP cable?
  14. I'm mostly interested in the graphical interfaces of programs I use, like Premiere or AE. Do they scale at all?
  15. Is 4K really usable on 27? I was thinking about the same monitor, but I have 23 inch FHD Dell monitor atm, and scaling is just fine in Windows 7. I don't really want to get my eyes strained when I switch to 4K.
  16. Yeah, they don't need ML for extra features. However, with ML you can draw a lot more attention.
  17. According to slashcam.de the new firmware comes at the end of January.
  18. Now I'm glad I could resist buying anything. This new update is very promising. I'm not sure if I should go with the 16-50mm F2.0-2.8, or buy some Sigma Art primes. Any suggestions?
  19. Lucy touched a topic that has actually a lot more to show, so I think it was a bit superficial compared to what it could have been, but I still enjoyed it very much and it was refreshing to see something new and unusual.
  20. Is this new flat profile any better than the Flaat picture styles you can upload to the D5xxx series?
  21. The guy with the 1.3.3 firmware managed to downgrade to 1.2.3 via EOS Utility.
  22. You could downgrade earlier, now you can't. And even if this new firmware becomes downloadable, there is a possibility it might not get ML, since 5D3's ML hasn't been updated lately. But I still have hopes, we'll see.
