  1. I would not do that! The 12-40mm, the Nokton 17,5 and the 40-150mm (is that the new one?) are great lenses. Keep that and buy an extra or new cam (LX100) for video. Do you need 4k? Maybe a GM1, LX7 or GH4 or..? You can use you're lenses. If not, please give it to me and I will give you a new LX100 ;) ..
  2. I really enjoyed you're 2 movies, good story telling..great music. Good use of slow motion and time laps..Some of the best work I have seen on this site. So please don't forget to give us some feedback. :)

Hello again Andy, Yesterday, I received a smc Pentax 50mm 1.7 and I am busy 'getting' a Pentax 30mm 2.0 but also looking at a Canon Fd 28mm 2.0. Could you give me any info on these 3 lenses. Thanks Siep @Hitfabryk.nl

Hello Andy, Do you know the canon fl 55mm 1.2 ..I use it on M4/3 with a simple adapter..it works. But would I benefit from using a speed booster. And do you have any thoughts about this lens? Hitfabryk. :)
  7. Thanks Guys, I really appreciate that.. The way I work is: I record bands (mostly with some overdubs from vocal & guitar) in my recording studio (www.hitfabryk.nl) on a Protools HD recording system. On the EM1 we shoot a lot handheld and my intention was to have an extra cam for the whole room or above the drums. The camera also record's the sound but we don't use that..because we will edit the 'clip' on the master recording from Pro Tools. It's a sort of extra for my customers and some showcase for my studio. This example shows a bit what I mean, you have to know that these recording sessions where made in only 4 hours..(This one was shot on a GX7, but that one was stolen and I replaced it with the EM1) What about the idea of selling the GM1 and buying a nikon D5300?? or another MFT cam? (G6 or GH4), because I do have a few MFT lenses 25mm 1.8, 14mm 2.5 & 45mm 1.8.. I also thought about the D750 but I think I will get confused what to use as my still cam. :) With the EM1 (all handheld) … don't like the music so much, although the end with the vocals is nice.
  8. I did some reading and maybe it wasn't such a good idea to combine these cam's …. 25fps and 30fps not a strong 'mariage'? Please any input will be helpful. :) Maybe I have to sell the GM1 again?? Because I like the EM1 to much, for different reasons..IBIS an still Q. I have an old canon fl 55 1.2 and this lens likes to be on front of the Oly. What would be a good alternative? Or is there an acceptable way of working together?
  9. Thanks fuzzy normal, but it is a PAL version and I am not aware that I can put in in a 30p option but maybe I am something missing.
  10. Today I bought an, as new second hand GM1 because of the low price and the good reviews. I want to combine the GM1 with my Olympus EM1 (very nice for handheld) in my recording studio, filming bands. www.hitfabryk.nl But now I am wondering if they will work together because of the 30fps on the EM1 and the 50i or 25p, 24p of the GM1.. Does somebody has a good idea how to do this? Thanks :)
  11. Rolling crop, you mean while movie recording, crop in the sensor?..no problem still working.
  12. I was using the optical viewfinder and can tell you it's very easy to hold it steady like this. But like I mentioned before, for the codec and different frame rates until now Olympus doesn't seem to care so much. Maybe they will in the future? But in many ways I like the cam.
  13. Coming straight from the camera (no grading) handheld with a olympus 45mm 1.8 lens, I wish Olympus is giving us 24 and 25 & 50 and 60. But I do like the stablisation and the colors (also the skin color) On you tube there is a1080 file.
  14. Will the quality be a little better when I use a shutter time of 1/60..I know that in 'our' Pal area in some situation's (against flickering) 1/50 shutter time is a good solution but if there is a situation where the flickering is abcent, is it better to use 1/60? Any thoughts? thanks Siep
  15. Hello Andrew, Thanks for this..I just got mine (Oly EM1) today. Regards, Siep
  16. Thanks Jurgen, Tomorrow I hope to get my EM1 and than I will be able to try.. Siep
  17. Hello Dean, So you just import it on the computer and just put it on the timeline of FCP X, without converting to proress? Maybe FCPx is doing that for you. Thanks. Siep
  18. @ Dean and Jurgen, thanks for posting.. this helps to prepare for my EM 1 coming next tuesday. Great shots at that high iso settings and the IBS also is very attractive.. What kind of workflow are you using after importing on the computer, I am on a mac. Thanks and greets Siep
  19. Very nice this Oly..I ordered it 2 days ago and am really exited to use it for stills and video, I also bought the 12-40 with it and already have a 14mm 2.5 a 45 mm 1.8 and a 45-150 zoom these lenses I used on a Gx7 that was unfortunately stoolen on my trip to Sri Lanka a couple of weeks ago. I liked the Gx7 but am more attracted to the Oly because of the built and IQ..One thing still gives me some worries is the 30p in Pal country. But is it true that with the shutter speed on 50 there will be no flickering? I still see it a little bit in Dean's (very nice) short movies. I also have to say that I can live with it..Thanks for any input. Siep
