  1. That's really a wild option..lol I love the A7S already..it's my nr1 cam and can move on dolly tripod. thanks for the 4K idea, and the option of tilts and pans from the 4k footage in a 1080 project, and indeed the possibility to have 2 4K recorders for the near future.
  2. Still got a few good M43 lenses and I want a replacement for my EM1. At the moment I am not using the IBIS that much because the A7S has become my main can on tripod (on dolly) The EM1 is now on a tripod and not moving, the GM1 also. But i want everything on 24 fps.. and the codec of the EM1 can be better. So it has to go, I could get a EM5MK2 and still (for free work and family/holidays) enjoy the IBIS but the GH4 looks even more like a grownup filmcam. Any thoughts?
  3. you have control over shutter speed, the dial above the screen.
  4. Good quality, also the sound. The woman sings and plays beautiful.
  5. It depends on what you get for the combination..EM1 with 12-40. It's a good 'set' So Cinegain, you're in the same 'boat' as I am..What do you think about the deal they are offering me? It's a body switch only.
  6. My favorite store offers me replacing my EM1 for the EM2 mk2 for 350 euro's. What would you do guy's? I also use an Sony A7S and a Panasonic GM1 and have quite a few M43 lenses and some old lenses with adapters for the M43 system. Thanks.
  7. On my EM1 it works very well with a zoom but you have to make a choice on which focal length you will get the best stabilization.
  8. I love the IBIS and with some effort the EM1 can deliver nice video especially for close up's (at least for my needs) But the Sony A7S took over the leading role and I am very happy with that..but ohh I would like to see a stronger codec and 24p on the EM1..The EM1 is smal, light and easy, great for traveling and playing second violin. In a few weeks I am on my way to Berlin, it would be nice to have some new firmware in the EM1.
  9. I would like that the EM1 get's some of that (codec/framerate's) We filmed this last week with the EM1 and some (the wide shot's) with the GM1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=85027636&x-yt-ts=1422503916&v=OmIzCcTEie4
  10. Thanks guy's, soon I will give XAVC-S it a try..my first start was with AVCHD, because I only have this 32gb card. And I have to say I am already impressed after 2 day's trying. Especially the IQ and low light performance. I think I can change my light set in the studio for a more cost effective led light's. And if there is a power problem I could still use candles
  11. I think I got it, it has to be 64gb at least?
  12. It's probably addressed many times but I can't find it in the archives.. It looks that my card cannot handle XAVC-S and my A7S doesn't (Sandisk Extreme Plus >3-10< 80mbs 32gb) allow me to put in that mode..?.. Do I need another card and should I film in XAVC-S or is AVCHD as good for 1080p?
  13. The EM5II will be announced soon and a rumor (F5 @ M43 rumors) ) is that it will have 25p.
  14. Thanks Andrew, and all the other members who took the effort to give me advice..I decided to buy the Sony A7S and will start with my old (FD, 28, 35, 55) lenses. I have a good feeling that I made the right choice, maybe someday I will film in 4K, but for now I will use the 1080. Happy!
  15. That's so funny Ivar, I know you sent you're NX1 back, so did I.. and we are looking at the same footage from the A7s, I also like a lot what he does. Did you already decide? Thanks, 5D3 raw.I think not an easy workflow, and that's what I need..The BMCC could be interesting, I think it's also available with a M43 mount (2.3 crop factor?) But the media it writes on.. .mmm I don't know. Battery life, screen refelections..although I will use it most inside. But you do not mention the A7S, why? Thanks.

Thanks Andy I will, give it a try..
  17. Would be great, I would like to see that. And by the way..I already have a GM1 and a EM1 and in my live band studio registrations the can do a nice job, GM1 I use as second cam on top of the drums, or a close up of a singer and the EM1 moves in the hand or dolly as first cam..I was thinking that the EM1 also can become second cam and that i need/want a new first cam..And like I mentioned to Cinegain a GH4 may would be wise but I would like to have something extra and what that is ..mmm that's maybe a Sony A7S for the FF or a Black Magic for the colours..which black magic I don't know.I do have glass for the Black magic M43 mounts and some old FD for the sony..
  18. Hello Cinegain, Thanks for the reply, waiting for the EM2 will take to long.. maybe the new EM5mark2 will bring also some new film options like 24p and 25p to the EM1 and maybe even 50/60? That would be nice..but probably will not happen. The NX1 I did return mostly because of the H265 and also the the other little, but unacceptable problems like exposure drift.. Maybe I want that FF magic? I could use my FD glass (28, 35 and 55) with a cheap adapter..I already got one (Fotga FD to NEX) an maybe later buy 1 sony lens..From what I have seen from the A72 I did not like so much..but I could take another look. The Nikon way..mmm no I don't think so because I have to start all over with the glass. I tried the GH4, I have glass for it, but somehow I did not like it so much, it did the job and for the money, it's great.. also the 96fps (nice) and yes again, maybe there is that full frame sensor that's 'calling' me.. If I could try or rent one but that's not so easy...
  19. You are so right..!!maybe it's because now I have to deal with the 30fps..and that I bring that up. I would love to see you're GM1 movie, is it on vimeo? Thanks
  20. Thanks Jimmy (and M Carter) I do have some nice M43 lenses (14, 25, 45) and some old good FD glass (28, 35,55) with a RJ FD-M43 speed booster. I don't need audio, would like to have different frame rates..and do not have a solid opinion about sensor size..some time's I see FF and I like it, but I also have seen nice things from smaller sensors.
  21. What's the best 1080P cam, looking for filmic look, easy workflow with a mac, max around 2500,- euro (less is no problem) although it's nice it doesn't have to be a low light king. Thanks for any input.
