A7SIII should be 10bit. Anyway, 10 bit is nice but not more important for me than things like good video AF or IBIS. I have found 8 bit easily gradable and people have posted master piece 8 bit cinematic videos where you would not tell the difference with 10bit. It does not really change how people see your content. IBIS and AF does. @Andrew Reidexcellent review thanks. Great to see the AF is that good and those HLG colors are an excellent surprise. I think the combo of A7RIII and A7SIII is going to be the best combo ever. You know I am like you, hybrid photo video and always wanted one camera body for that. But I realized it is not gonna happen soon. You have to make compromise somewhere. Also I realized that only 1 camera on the field is not the most convenient: Sometimes I am setting up the stills camera for a 1 hour timelapse, nice to be able to shoot video during this time with the other camera, and so on. A7RIII + A7SIII is going to allow me to share lenses / batteries /..., have one of the best still quality for landscape ever, small bodies and lighter than GH5 yet Full frame with IBIS, great video AF, great video features and a S35 mode if reach is needed. Hard to beat that... Just have to see Canikon mirrorless offering in FF this year but I am pretty sure it wont be as well specced, and it's gonna need 2 years to have decent lens system. After selling the A7RII because of ergonomics nightmare and no pleasure to shoot with, and not buying A7SII because of those same reasons and no good video AF, I think I am sold again.

Again, I have to disagree. I sit between the 2 IronFilm. I own and use a good gimbal. However: - ON the gimbal, IBIS is a godsend cause it clears all micro vibration that you have even on a good gimbal WHEN running - And sometimes it is very good to not use the gimbal (high altitude mountain trek, climbing,...) Sorry I did not know a GH5 body form factor was to be compared with an Arri. Those camera have different applications. Plus on the stabilisation side, they are heavy so tipically you do not see shake in the footage with camera on your shoulder. Not the case with a GH5S handheld because of low weight. Again guys. You do not need IBIS no problem. But DO NOT say they are 2 categories of people and that people who need a GH5S or real filmakers do not need IBIS. This is non sense and completely false. Your comment does not make sense. Who on earth said a video camera should not have IBIS? FACT is GH5 is a small and light camera that shakes a lot. for VIDEO use, IBIS is a great feature. It's a big miss on the GH5S. Period. Now if you do not need IBIS good for you, but do not say it is normal to not have IBIS because it is a video camera.

Correct. As I said somewhere else I am supper disappointed at companies segmenting and crippling bodies to protect another line. Canon is the worst with that. Sony the best and Panasonic was good, but here they clearly removed purposely a feature just to say look there is still a reason to buy a GH5... ridiculous way of doing business. But it works. And the reason it works is simple, you will see people here answering me that I am foolish and expect having everything in a camera, and that no company offers 4k60p for 2000$ bla-bla-bla. By 2015 standard yes D850 rocks in video. Thing is, we are in 2018 you say people can never be happy. Gear has nothing to do with happiness. I am perfectly happy. Not satisfied with a camera is another thing.

Wow I was such a good predictor lol. I threw away the A7RII a long time ago indeed. Unfortunately i forgot to mention at that time importance of AF and that is the miss of D850. Also I turned a lot more into Long multi day trekking in the mountain and the 1kg D850 does not help. So I will see Nikon FF mirorless this year. And A7SIII, GH5s.... in 2015 I had a dream: have a camera that is as good as D810 in Photo, and as good as it gets in video. Nobody seems to want to do that (best video stuff are GH series, A7S series and they really lack in landscape photography) so I accepted the idea of having two different bodies.

Seems to be similar to A9 which means really good, probably the best after Canon DPAF. A7SIII will likely have the same AF which is really nice because the II was really shitty on that aspect.

What a surprise. Casey wants a good AF. He spoke about that in this video and all the time before. So that tells me 95% sure GH5s won't change AF anyway.

What I am saying is holding because there is a new one coming when the latest version just released weeks ago is not reasonable. Holding because you are happy with your camera and do not need A7RIII is perfectly fine. I am with you on the CaNikon. Imagine a D850 but mirrorless with IBIS and good PDAF, and 4K60p... Would be great. Not gonna Happen though. At best it will be a D850 mirrorless (no good AF for video, no IBIS, no 4K60p). Same with the canon will be a 5DIV mirrorless. Hopefully I am wrong. Excited to see what they have on the table.

Well people like you are working at canon. Reality is different though because those difference are worth it for people buying C200 type cameras. You see, I would never ever buy a C200 because of the size weight and price. You are canon. You prefer to sell me nothing or a 7D? Market for C200 and 7D is totally different. Offering 4K60p on the 7D is not going to kill C200 sales. Ridiculous statement. But canon thinks like you.
