  1. He used some Cine housed Zeiss Otus Primes, which is what really makes the images special. Lovely work on this!
  2. Thanks for doing this Tito! This is next level! Cheers!
  3. A beautiful spot shot in anamorphic. Looks like a Kowa?. Anamorphic zoom? Anybody on EOSHD shoot this? Great job!
  4. I just finished my new anamorphic wildlife video. I filmed for three days over the last few months on St. Vincent Island Wildlife Refuge. A very unique and beautiful place. So before you and I get lost in Starwars, The Revenant and The Hateful Eight, please sit back relax and take a journey through this wild island with me. Technical: Filmed on a Panasonic GH4 in 4k Bolex 16/32 1.5x anamorphic lens with Voigtländer 25mm F0.95, Voigtländer 42.5mm F0.95 and Takumar SMC 135mm F2.5 V2 as taking lens. I shot in anamorphic 4:3 mode on GH4.

  6. There are other alternatives but Redstan's clamps will get you closest to you taking lens. They are also the easiest to use, the safest being your anamorphic lens will not fall to the ground when your adjusting your alignment, and the sexiest in my option. You get what you pay for. Redstan is the man and his clamps are amazing but if you are in a crunch for time and money, Jim at Rapidotechnolgy could have a alternative. http://www.rapidotechnology.com/
  7. Thanks Bioskop.Inc! Interesting thing with that seagull flying shot was I shot it in 96fps and the rest of the video in 4k. I scaled the seagull shot up to 4k and it still looked great. The Baby is amazing! Thanks for checking it out and feedback. Cheers!
  8. Great list! You might want to add the Marumi DHG Achromat Macro Lens 330 (+3) and (+5) Very good quality. Come in 72mm and are achromat doublets. Also a Polaroid 250D Close Up Lens (72mm) which is a +2 achromat doublet. Redstan made a +0.25 achromatic doublet but you might not want to add it to your list being he made 8. I have one and it's incredible. I hope he makes more because when you put it in front of the SRL Magic rangefinder it does wonders
  9. Here is my new video shot with the Baby Hypergonar :)

  10. Thanks Caleb, I shot this with a GH4 in 4k 3840x2160 with a Baby Hypergonar and Olympus Zuiko Pen F lens as my taking lens. The Hypergonar is a 1.75x anamorphic. On the time lapse shots I used 4:3 and 16:9 for the rest. Cheers!
  11. I'm wanting help from the community to fill in this chart. I'm looking for an easy visual guide to work with. I primarily shoot with the GH4 in 4K with the Baby Hypergonar anamorphic 1.75x and the Bolex anamorphots 1.5x. I was never good at math. :/ THANKS! 12. I love so many but these are two of my favorites
  13. I'm sorry for the fuzzy math. I'm not really sure what the correct strength would be. I'm gonna need to use my lifeline to ask the audience. There is one on Ebay for $100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/82mm-Nikon-Close-Up-lens-for-Nikon-Zoom-Nikkor-AI-200-600-F9-5-lens-/331610857380?hash=item4d358c1fa4
  14. I do think that Redstan has two low power diopters left. A +0.6 and +0.45 and I think they are worth the cost to achieve optimal image quality for your anamorphic at a midrange to close up range. You get what you pay for and if you want the best optics for your anamorphic lens then send him an email. I will do a test later to show you the quality of the Redstan achromatic doublet. The sharpness and flare is incredible. With the 82mm size, it would be interesting to see how this cleans the image and works in front on the SRL Magic Rangefinder.
  15. I'm selling one of my Baby Hypergonars complete with Redstan metal Jacket Housing and diopter. On Ebay for $1550 but would go to $1450.

Up for sale is one of the most wanted and rare anamorphic lenses. The Baby Hypergonar has spectacular image quality, exceptional anamorphic flares, and comes in a very small size.

    Condition

Optically, the glass is in very good condition, exceptional for its age.  No scratches, no mold, no dust and no fungus. There are minimal signs of use but nothing to affect the quality of the image. A few tiny spots in the coating. If you are shooting a clear blue sky at high F-stop and you pan you may see tiny spots. Go one stop down and they disappear. They have not shown up in my footage. Watch this video, I shot every shot with this very lens :)

    Mounting

It comes with a brand new Redstan Black Metal Jacket housing, only 6 of these ever made. I have one for mine, it's a dream. The jacket has a 72mm front thread, a 52mm back thread and a plastic screw for orientating the baby once it's screwed in the taking lens. It also comes with a nice black metal back cap, 52mm spacer, 72mm Polaroid Close - Up 500D filter and the original front cap. I will also include a generic 72mm front cap. The diopter is a +2 achromatic doublet.

If you get your hands on a Tokina +0.4 or +0.5 it really sings :)

** Using this lens with the new SRL Magic Rangefinder coming out will take this lens to the next level as well :) I can't wait to get one.

SRL MAGIC RANGEFINDER WITH BABY HYPERGONAR

    Thanks Seb!

    Bottom Line

This is hands down probably the best kit for the Baby Hypergonar that will ever be offered. I'm letting this lens go because I already have another Baby Hypergonar with the same set up, A Bolex 8/19 and a Bolex 16/32.  The Baby Hypergonar for me has the most character out of them all and it's my go to travel lens. I'm selling everything for what I payed and I promise you, it's an anamorphic gem and a piece of history you don't want to miss out on. Ask questions if you like, there are no returns. Whoever gets this lens will be happy. :)

  16. Thanks Premini! I emailed him and I'm now a very happy owner of the Redstan +0.25 Doublet. A real gem! Only 8 made. Sharpness and flare are incredible. I'm excited about the SRL Magic rangefinder for my baby Hypergonar set up but It's still gonna be important to use achromatic doublets to get optimal image quality from the anamorphic at close range. I stack two Tokina +0.4 Achromatic diopters with a Marumi DHG Achromat Macro Close Up 330 (+3) 72mm and get really nice images. The image I attached was with this setup. The Marumi is very nice and not much money compared to the others. The Polaroid Close - Up 500D is nice and cheap!
  17. Sorry :/ I think it's a 72mm thread size and not the 82mm +0.25 Still nice but not really great.

  19. New old stock! $100 - 5 sets left. I got one. Rare NOS ANGENIEUX CLOSE UP LENS DIOPTER Set For Angenieux 12-120mm 10-150 Zoom http://www.ebay.com/itm/281753923609 Angenieux +0.25? - 82mm thread. I could be wrong and no.1 is about +1,25 and the no.2 is about +2 ***? No vignetting & very little CA, if any. Its a singlet, so it will only sharpen up the image a little (not as much as a doublet). As you can see it gives me the full focus range on the Isco 54, which was unexpected - Bioskop.Inc The same as the one used in this test, I hope. It would be interesting to know how this would work in front of SRL Magic Range finder, which has 82mm front thread. Cheers!

  21. I got the Voitglander PL on he way. It's a 40.5mm thread. I think the Zeiss are 28.5mm which does seem too small. I'm gonna try a 40.5 to 72mm step up ring and hope for the best.
  22. My first footage shot with my Baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. Cut to the music of Dances with Wolves. Enjoy
  23. Hi Ken, the 40mm diopter is for the Baby Hypergonar, one of the smallest or smallest anamorphic lens around.
