It is the Canon LP-E6N so a big jump in power from the original BM Pocket battery of 800mAH to 1865mAH

They are saying about an hour of battery life which translates to 45-50min of real world  use. Not great. Will have to walk around with a power bank or utility belt full of LP-E6s.

  2. Good observations, Andrew. However, Youtube is not meant to edify people, it's actually meant to do the opposite.

    Cultural Marxism:

The gradual process of destroying all traditions, languages, religions, individuality, government, family, law and order in order to re-assemble society in the future as a communist utopia. This utopia will have no notion of gender, traditions, morality, god or even family or the state.

As historian Arnold Toynbee once pointed out, "Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder".

We are in the process of dying.

Well 4K Raw is 3/4s of that camera. Plus when you add the middle codec, the low codec will only be 12% of the camera. But you may be right with the mjpeg... which I am fine with. I shoot ML Raw now, so big file sizes don’t make me squeamish plus the 400mbps Panny all-i codec produces similar sized video files but require more computer power to process... so yeah a S35mm 7D3 at less than 2 grand, and I just may be a customer.

You're more forgiving than I am. It would take a better codec and the assurance of S35 to get me on board. I could forego the 60p in exchange for an APSC DPAF 4k camera...

Well eventually Canon needs to release 4K in their DSLRs with manageable file sizes... since the MP4 on the C200 records at 150mbps, I just assume it will be that. Also, on the Canon site, a middle codec is still listed as TBA, I assume that will be the missing link.

That's a nice thought. But if it's truly coming this spring, I see Canon delivering an uncropped (APSC) MJPEG version with DPAF which would be an improvement over the 5DIV but still a camera aimed primarily at sports/wildlife photographers. I can't see them giving us half a C200 at 1/4 of the cost.

It would be a heck of a trumpingly tremendeous:) campaign to have Casey Neistat show off their new revolutionary AF of this new camera. The perfect vlogging camera, all these vlogging vips of the utubs universe have been bragging about.

People would go nuts and buy it for 2799, just for the best in class AF, Casey Neistat proven.

It will be a great time to buy used GH5 cameras very soon.:)

I suppose that's probably what it was, give a copy to Neistat for the AF testing and one to Neumann for lowlight.

It seems odd timing to release a new GH5s with nothing more than increased lowlight performance, though?

Since I assume the majority of GH5 sales are from video users, it almost seems like they’re killing their own GH5 sales for only $500 more? Unless there is going to be a price drop of the GH5.

This is actually kinda strange marketing and timing. I tend to think there will be a few more features and the price will be $2999. Just enough to warrant a jump in price but not enough to really hurt existing GH5 sales.

There already is a price drop on the GH5. You can get one new on eBay for $1499.00 USD. The deal has been on ever since the week of Black Friday and is still available.

You are absolutely, totally wrong about this. Steel beams CAN be melted by high temperature fires. Good grief, brush up on science, not witchcraft.

In the same piece you quoted: "This is the first time that we are aware of, that a building taller than about 15 stories has collapsed primarily due to fires," Sunder told reporters at the press conference. "What we found was that uncontrolled building fires--similar to fires experienced in other tall buildings--caused an extraordinary event, the collapse of WTC7." The unprecedented nature of the event means that understanding the precise mechanism of the collapse is important not just to answer conspiracy theorists' questions, but to improve safety standards in the engineering of large buildings.

    Unprecedented. How convenient....

I like the camera threads much better and hopefully this entire fiasco of a thread can be deleted.

Yes, let's burn the books while we're at it...

There are valid scientific reasons for why WTC7 went down. I'm really sorry this thread was ever started because the ignorance and obvious political biases are depressing.

"WTC 7 collapsed because of fires fueled by office furnishings." Bogus. This would have been an unprecedented occurrence. Fire does not melt steel beams. Modern buildings are constructed to withstand couch fires.

Actually this was entirely based on security alerts from intelligence agencies. Believe what you wish, but sometimes going with facts is the best way to avoid biases.

Oh good grief. And we never landed on the moon. Anyone have extra strength Tylenol?

The moon has nothing to do with geopolitics and controlled demolitions of buildings. The conspiracy theory of sheep herders bringing down a building without touching it (WTC #7) only makes sense to those that are ignorant to the scientific method.
