  1. thanks a lot, in paticular I was not able to translate "No pun intended" also google translate couldn't help. I got it over forum wordreference (http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/no-pun-intended.2041297/?hl=it)
  2. urgh sorry for my bad english I didn't understand your post. can you explain using different words please?
  3. thanks for the incipt and advices. ok so no parfocal no party if I got it.
  4. I need a zoom lens with stabilization, I saw those models: 1) Sigma 17-50 mm-F/2.8 EX DC OS HSM -AF, Canon 2) Tamron SP AF 17 - 50mm F/2.8 Di II VC, Canon which one do you suggest to me? I need it for video (canon 7D). I need to be able to shoot at f2.8 with good results in therms of sharpness. my budget is around 350 euro. I will shoot narrative and doc. for documentary and interviews having some kind of manual fluid zoom ring could be interesting but maybe it's impossibile with a dslr: what do you think about it? it seems the sigma is maybe a little bit better in this feature but I can't believe it's so good that I can try to zoom while shooting an interview without making some trouble with the zoom fluidity movement. I mean it looks dangerous. am I right?
  5. the most important think in my opinion is be careful that the video file is strong enough that you can color correct/grade without problems (reject everything else). and then if possibile choose a camera that doesn't suffer aliasing and vertical stripes.
  6. sound design: let them see some foley artist video on youtube. they can try to rec some sound with theyr smartphone. how to use a boompole. some audio edit with protools or adobe audition.
  7. maybe I have misunderstand your previous post because I have not understand what is going to change. can you explain again please? I'm sorry or my english
  8. do you mean will be possible to shoot in crop mode having a colored preview with good refresh rate (fps)? because now to have precise framing the only solution is to use grayscale preview, this mode allow precise framing but kills fps refresh rate and is black and white. thx
  9. sorry for my bad english if I understand it (maybe I didn't) you are stuck at first task (read the pilgrim). if so I'd encourage you to go on with the tasks, maybe you can leave the book at half, or skip some chapters. maybe the most important seed/root of this task is not to read it 100%. It is understand how Baker describes the peregrine point of view. I have great trust in this masterclass looks the best I have found but I can not tell until I complete it. I'm working for that, doing "homeworks" is exciting in this case (but I didn't like when I was at high school).
  10. I'm soory for that, did you made also all the masterclass assigments? I'm reading the peregrine then I will need to write 20 pages inpired from it (it's my first assigment). This masterclass is looking really cool to me.
  11. I suggest try to get inspiration from this masterclass. will give you many ideas https://www.masterclass.com/classes/werner-herzog-teaches-filmmaking
  12. developer say 16k will be VR standard so maybe unfortunately neither 10k could be satisfying for someone.
  13. what is it fine resolution settings? I tryed 12 bit and 10 bit on 7D but the files are 100% corrupted, I have load it from mlv lite 1.1 module. can you suggest me the default setting to make it work please? I'm doing it in no-crop mode, global drow off, tryed also to change ml preview options and nothing change. which sofftware do you use to convert mlv into dng? I did a test with mlrawviewr (it doesn't open the files but the problem should be related to mlv lite), and mlv producer. thx a lot
  14. I hope premiere will add HSL panel to it. basically I wish much more lightroom contol panels like tools. I edit raw video I need much more tools than before (h264).
  15. if possible may I ask you to take a picture of this histogram and draw a circle around the area that express the amount of noise please? I wish to understand better please, it looks very very useful!
  16. this one definitely helps in my opinion http://nofilmschool.com/2016/11/watch-dp-geoff-boyle-explains-how-you-can-simplify-your-lighting
  17. can I do some color grading applying luts in raw 10bit and 12bit without seeing the rise of artifacts over the image quality? I mean only color so not pushing up esposure or simulating the increment of f stop. thx
  18. thanks for advice. have you tryed to add a dimmer to them? and another cool thig could be to use the technique of the bouncing light using for example e white bed sheet (info grabbed from roger deakins forum). what do you think about doing white balance with those lights is it ok?
  19. how well could perform a cheap tugsten light setup like this? it's 2x800w + stand, have a long cable and it's just 60 euro!
