  1. I will probably wait until the price drops by half as is typical with camera prices these days ;) The reason I want one is to complement my stash of 50s & 60s classic lenses some of which are slow wide open, so low light advantage is key to my desire.
  2. The rear thread is 50mm x 0.75mm
  3. http://cameramate.com/vintage/Optical-Anamorphic-Anamorphot-2x-Iper-16-A7494.html
  4. Hi Lucian I also have another design which I use that I nickname Luftwaffe If you can up a photo showing the back end of the 36 with dia and length of the back tube annotated , I may be able to advise you better.
  5. Agree, Attila, Klaus and the gang will know
  6. Thanks Andrew, I will not let you down :)
  7. I am up for some shooting. ;) North West Mafia, ha ha, don't forget the Triad connection :) The arch is the largest outside of China and Liverpool’s Chinatown is the oldest in Europe.
  8. I would definitely support Andy Lees proposal as moderator on Lenses and Lighting, not only because he's a Northener like myself, but this forum needs this topic discussed.
  9. Andrew, If it helps you with the load, I can offer my time and experience to moderate the Anamorphic Forum. Having worked in the glass industry with three majors (including Pilkington Bros) and have offered good content in this area (about one in three of my posts get a like); my offer is on the table.
  10. Hi Erik, When you hit paydirt and maybe looking for a wicked support for this lens PM me.
  11. Someone might know. Both these adapters are 1.5x but the first is fixed focus at 4m whereas the other is a dual focus unit. My question is --- do they share the same optics (I mean identical dia, curv, index) with the differences just mechanical?
  12. I hear ya, but when you are out and about stealing shots it is good to have a camera size which does not shout out 'highly paid professional'. Sony has always had a culture of miniaturization from transistor radios of the swinging 60s to walkmans of the 80s and the NEXs of the 10s.
  13. We need to know about max clip length and heating issues, uh?
  14. Can someone run the numbers and tell me which is better. ???????????? 10 or 12 bits of low sensitivity VERSUS 8 bits of high sensitivity and what is the balance/tipping point and also what s-log effects/factors this calculation. I just gotta know :)
  15. If this has clean HDMI @ 4:2:0 @8 bit, I will be picking one of these up after the price has settled - maybe this time next year. 12mp FF is too good to turn down
  16. a Rubber lens hood should work fine as well ;)
  17. Referring to ISCO patents, the trick is in the balance between lens curvature and glass index, and, unfortunately, that's where things start to get expensive. Custom glass with custom index is very pricey. Some time ago a poster asked about replacing the front glass on a 54. After some enquiries, out of curiosity, I discovered for this size optic the mould fee would be about $1500. Made from cast iron the quality would be bad at 60-40 scratch dig, so would need further tooling costs to polish it down to an acceptable 20-10. Basic conclusion was that it would be cheaper to purchase another 54 after all the messing about.
  18. Hey JCS, You're certainly in the right part of town :) Right now I have cuddly bunny waiting for me to go to bed, so I will PM you with my comments later.
  19. Hey Bigotham I have only got started on you, theirs a whole iceberg waiting for ya - just keep pressing my buttons. You must like the taste of willow.
  20. @Cunning-Studio-Bigot-Ham Bigotry ==: stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. Check your posts they are bigotry defined So you're gonna ignore me are you? Ooooo, please do! But lets get one in afore ya go shall we? With your vast knowledge of the motion picture industry, your assholiness, having been through film school and studied with the best of them and shared the odd smoked salmon sandwich or so with the elite, Goat Boy, what on earth is this? WTF? htotp://vimeo.com/90143707 I have dropped the embedded to save people the trash that awaits their gaze. Lets face it Bigotham, you can't shoot. Hell if someone told you you could shoot, they must have been drunk or it was April Fools. (what a coincidence!) So lay off the shooting and stick with the GFX, You ain't gonna make it Oh wait!, if the opening sequence is anything to go by, then you had better lay off that as well, it's shit. So what else, How about screenplay? You have an almighty mouth on ya, so maybe that's your destiny. Personally I wouldn't trust you with a pencil, you'd probably chew the end off. All in all, I think there's nothing down for ya. Better do a Tony Scott fella. Quick. Its pain-less and it brings on many changes HAHA PS. I've forgotten more than you know. Bigotham C'Ya wouldn't wanna be ya
  21. @Cunning-Studio-Bigot-Ham I have to laugh haha, all I see is self idolized bigotry. Hunting people down in this forum and PV to hurl shite. Pimp your 'bro, how low can you go? Allez les fantômes bleus!!! Do us all a favour, get off your chariot, go find a tall bridge and do a Tony Scott.
  22. Focus puller normally only when operator stationary, else he sets range and the op uses his feet. Otherwise you have two people focusing - not good.
